This was my very first credit about eight years ago, and while I haven't ridden it in a long time, it is still one of my favorite wooden coasters. I need to get back to this park.
I appreciate CCI's dedication to airtime. They really focused in on it. I mean look at Shivering Timbers, that thing is nothing but airtime, but the airtime is so good that it doesn't matter.
Yay. Great to see another review during/post lockdown. Great Job. Looks like a nice CCI. Content is to the highest quality. Keep Up The Great Work Taylor and Stay Safe
I had few expectations for this coaster based on its stats and its kind of silly name, but WOW, what an awesome ride it was! To think just a few months ago we all thought that we had lost this ride forever.
i rode this last year, its also my favorite! i get really good floater on it all the time, and i rode it like 5 times that day, 3 in front, one in he middle, and one in he back. i do agree that it is a front row ride lol
Steel hawg is absolutely nuts from the 112 degree drop to that outside banked turn and crazy zero g roll and the barrel roll at the end ...it's a quick ride but boy does it pack on crazy punch ...deff a ride u could ride a few times over and over again
Nice review! I personally love the pull of the back seat more than the bush of the front. But I don’t really have much experience in the world of wooden coasters. I might get a bad wrap for this but American Eagle is still my favorite wooden coaster. I don’t know why exactly it just holds a special place in my heart, plus the fact that it is a racing coaster and it’s so old.
Ive always seen this ride highly praised. Supposedly the air time was insane. I feared after so many years, and perhaps neglect, the ride would go to crap. Glad to hear its still good! When I take my midwest trip I will stop here. Never wanted to but since it has been saved and Ive missed a bunch of parks due to covid.... Indiana Beach here I come!
Cornball is in my top 10! Love this ride so much! I like it a bit more in the back, but the front is great too. Hope you do a Steel Hawg and Lost Coaster review bc those are fun rides too
I really have a soft spot for Cornball Express, yes it's definitely my favorite at the park too and it's a top tier woodie for me. Thank you for doing a review on it and saying good things about the ride.
this coaster proves how drastically different the front and back of a coaster can be. I went to Indiana Beach on girl scout trip way back in 2004. that was before i learned the backrows are usually the best on coaster. so I remember this coaster being pretty "meh" fast forward all the way to 2023 and this year 2024. my cousin now goes here for company picnics and we go too. now i sit in the very last row! totally a different ride!! front row=mild family coaster back row=miniature intense airtime machine!
Man when we went on opening weekend, the front row on the front car was closed off because they couldn't get the restraints to close and we had the most absurd experience due to the off balance. Insane ejector air on top of every hill and levitating floater/ejector crescending each. The helix was balls to the wall insane. Most out of control sensation only experienced a handful of times on various top end rides.
I've been riding this coaster consistently for about 13 years (since I was seven!) and I've always preferred it in the back personally. Oh and at 1:08 I'm riding in the second to last car! So cool
Love this coaster, I think Steel Hawg is the best in the park but this was a close #2 for me! Did not get a front row ride on cornball so I guess I need to go back!
Hey Taylor I saw you and your friends today at dolly wood on lighting rod and my dad was talking to your friends and I was wondering what their channel was called
Hi Taylor! You should consider making a series of you playing planet coaster if you have even the slightest interest in video games. People would love to see what type of roller coasters you would make. Something to consider if you’re able, especially with the pandemic happening
The buzz bar at my local coaster sits about a foot and a half from your body with no seat belts. The airtime is so intense, you hit that bar so hard your thighs burn after you get off. It feels like you're gonna fly out of the car every drop. Honestly, 80% of the time you're not even touching the seat. I'm surprised no one has fallen out ever.
My seat cushion literally fell off during the ride while in the front ride on opening day this year and I told the ride op, and they just told me to shove it back in lol this ride is nuts. Although, I think the last two hills are way better in the back than the front, and I actually prefer it in the back.
Indiana Beach is my home park and for me I got very weak floater in the front but mostly little to no airtime. I love the back row because on almost every hill I get some insane ejector. But I will say this. Sitting in the second to last row or something is not the same. You will get almost no airtime. But when you sit in the very back row there is almost no parts where you don’t get ejector. It literally feels a tiny bit like an RMC with the amount of airtime in the back. Idk really how else to explain it 😂
I went on this about a week ago. Surprisingly the drop on Hoosier Hurricane is better than this. Also Hoosier Hurricane gives better ejector. But this gives airtime for most of the ride. So this is still better.
Definitely agree with you here. CCI is not to be overlooked by the wood titans of today-Cornball and Cyclops are still in my wood top ten for their insane forces and rideability....
For the last 3 weeks I've gone there every Sunday and I've rode cornball and Hoosier hurricane in every seat and I must say cornball is a much more exciting ride instead of that classic out and back like Hoosier ....anyways in the middle of the train on both coasters are really tame and actually quite smooth ....the excitement is deff either in the back or the front of either ride
@@StamfordBridge haha, well I'm Patrick of the new site/channel We Were Inverted (launched everything at the start of the month). Maybe it's a Patrick thing. Lol.
Have you done a review of the Giant Dipper at Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk? I remember it from the 50s, I was 4 or 5, but the only thing I, really, remember about it is it was at the ocean.
There are very few rides that are more different with regards to pacing front vs rear. Cornball's train is as long as many of it's drops so the front gets crazy push and the rear gets dragged down each drop. The airtime in the front is in weird places and is definitely more sudden and surprising, but there is less of it to go around once the ride has found it's pace. - Cornball needs most of the daylight hours to heat up and tends to run it's best around 7-8pm on a HOT August day, but when it does it's a back seat ride. It's always disappointed me when I ride it early in the day, and it's consistently made up for it in the evening. When it's fully warmed up the ride has 8 airtime moments in the back, 5 of which are strong: Strong floater with strong laterals on first drop, floater drop off the first turn, mild pop into the 2nd turn, near-ejector through the structure next to the water, mild floater under Hurricane (off the final left turn) Mild floater into helix Ejector bunny hill #1 (when you first discover your seat belt is loose as you contact the lapbar) Ejector bunny hill #2 - I've had rides on days when the ride was E-stopping because it was running so fast and they had to come out to dispatch us from the final brakes and reset the computer between runs. Even with the extra time on the brakes the upstop wheels would be spinning when we stopped in the station. - But it seems like my experience is somewhat unique among enthusiasts. Both with regards to saying it's a back seat ride AND with regards to having it in my top 10 over rides like Raven*, Cyclops, Phoenix, Shivering Timbers, Mystic Timbers*, and Hades... The only wooden coasters I have over it are Ravine Flyer II, The Voyage, and El Toro. *I do need to reride Raven and Mystic Timbers under more optimal conditions though. I've only had 3 laps on each compared with something close to 100 on Cornball.
The restraint bars & seatbelts on this ride look manageable to me. I hate the restraints on modern day coasters. They're too tight and make me feel very claustrophobic. I can't move at all.
To be fair you can't really compare Lost Coaster to anything due to how unique that thing is, it's literally one-of-a-kind due to how it was converted from a dark ride of all things. It's the odd-ball CCI that's so different from the rest, and pretty much all wooden coasters if we're being honest here.
Because i’m friends with everyone from CoasterForce. We’ve gone on shoots together, hang out, and chat all the time. They give me permission to use their content, and they have permission to use mine.
At first I thought some of this footage was pre-outbreak, with an entire train of unmasked people. Then the ride operators came through in masks, and my soul died a little. I'm not going back out to parks any time soon with the public acting like this.
If ever there were a coaster with one particular optimal seat that is miles better than any other seat, it is this coaster, and it’s the very BACK row. Your recommendation is baffling to me.
The name of this coaster alone makes it parody-worthy
Maybe one day
🌽 🏀 🚂
You sold me on the front, and it paid off
This was my very first credit about eight years ago, and while I haven't ridden it in a long time, it is still one of my favorite wooden coasters. I need to get back to this park.
I appreciate CCI's dedication to airtime. They really focused in on it. I mean look at Shivering Timbers, that thing is nothing but airtime, but the airtime is so good that it doesn't matter.
Actually, they were more focused on laterals....that’s what they’re known for, but sometimes there’s airtime. A lot of their rides have both
Yay. Great to see another review during/post lockdown. Great Job. Looks like a nice CCI. Content is to the highest quality. Keep Up The Great Work Taylor and Stay Safe
It's great to see someone reopen this park. We can't afford to loose anymore CCI coasters.
I got the notification while in line for Hoosier Hurricane

I had few expectations for this coaster based on its stats and its kind of silly name, but WOW, what an awesome ride it was! To think just a few months ago we all thought that we had lost this ride forever.

Your new for Six Flags in 2018 video has over 1 million views, I just noticed, great job.
Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain, back car, backwards at night, is the best thing ever
I felt like I was getting beaten up by a roller coaster. That goodness everything inside the car is padded. Back car backwards is brutal.
