  • Cornball Express was built by Custom Coasters International in 2001. This ride may have the stats of a family coaster, but Cornball Express is an airtime machine. Find out why I love this coaster so much!

    Great coaster! I got a lot of great rides on it in 2019. I don't remember it slowing down quite as much as you described or the video you showed. I agree that I actually like the back row better. I have Cornball right in front of Mystic Timbers in my rankings. That is how much I enjoyed this coaster!

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  4 года назад

      I too had Cornball above Mystic Timbers based on my 2017 rides. I think the trains may have been fully loaded for my 2017 visits, so maybe that was my issue?

    I didn’t expect much when looking at the stats but I rode it in the back and was shocked at how good it was, then rode it in the front and it was ALMOST AS GOOD. I don’t like front rows and it was so good up there but I agree with it being a back row ride overall. The air time on this thing is worth admission alone

    On my recent rides, Cornball ripped through the helix and had abundant airtime on the last few hills. It definitely looked noticeably slower in your footage; might just be a temperamental coaster. That being said, I agree with your review. Great ride that manages to do a lot with a little!

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  4 года назад

      Just curious, when did you most recently ride Cornball and was it with a full train? I'm wondering if it ran slower since the train only was 1/4 full for most of my rides. But then again, people who went on opening day when it ran with full trains had similar thoughts to me.

      @@CanobieCoaster I went on the Monday after they reopened and rode "almost full" and "almost empty" trains throughout the day. It WAS one of the first parks I visited since the shutdown, so it's entirely possible my perception of the ride was off following a dry spell lol.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  4 года назад

      Was there any difference between the near full and near empty trains to you?

    • @CivilianSatellite
      @CivilianSatellite 4 года назад

      @@CanobieCoaster They didn't feel that much different to be honest. I got more laps on Cornball than any other attraction at the park (except arguably Fascination), and each one felt out of control from drop to brakes for me.

    I also prefer Cornball Express in the back. I got 15 rides on it on my day there, and it was easily my favorite in the park. It's one of my favorite CCIs, probably only topped by Shivering Timbers, which I had ridden the day before.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  4 года назад +1

      The first time I rode Cornball, I rode Shivering Timbers earlier that day. Loved both rides, but I did remember Cornball being better in 2017. From my 2020 rides, I think Shivering Timbers is better.

    This channel is so underrated. What's your favorite coaster in Europe? And can you do a video about ranking coaster in Europe or something along the lines of that.

      Thanks! I had planned to do a European coaster ranking after my planned trip next month (would have included Poland & Finland), but that trip was postponed. I can definitely do some European ranking videos based off of what I've ridden though.

    We had some of the craziest rides on the front car. They were unable to get the bars to lock on the front row so we had to settle for the second. But because of the hot day and weight displacement you could feel the car lifting up on each hill and the way it felt shuffling back and forth on the helix was so surreal and out of control and had me hanging on for dear life.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  3 года назад +1

      The front has good airtime too, but I've always found the back wilder.

  • @stormgirl09

    thats weird how people prefer the front row. I only been to Indiana Beach 3 times. once on a girl scout trip back in 2004. and then recently in 2023 and this year as my cousin goes for his company picnic there. 2004 was before i knew that the back row is often the most intense/thrilling. so i went for the front. if i remember it was ok but kind of "meh". now that i know the back is usually the best its a whole different ride to me! went from a family coaster to a mini ejector airtime machine!!

    • @stormgirl09
      @stormgirl09 25 дней назад

    Randomly rewatched this great video. You talk about the stats being like a family coaster. But its not as you are correct. I actually think Hoosier Hurricane is the family coaster. Because its smooth as butter. Really fast for its size, and it does have some air time, mostly floater. But has a great layout. Very good pacing. And its the kinda coaster that Grandma can ride at 67 and the kids can get on their first big ride at 8 years old. I think Hoosier Hurricane is great for that, its not super exciting. But kinda like Bud Lite, its not bad but its not great but everyone can have some. I think thats what Indiana beach was going for when they built it. Something everyone can like.

    • @CanobieCoaster
      @CanobieCoaster  3 года назад +1

      Hoosier Hurricane is more scenic and I agree that's more of a family coaster as long as it's running smooth.

    • @TheMrLebaron

      @@CanobieCoaster Indeed, Hoosier Hurricane is a GREAT family coaster that everyone from Grandma to the kids getting on their first big ride can like. And Gene Staples retracked 1/3rd of it and had major track work done on the rest of it. Shes running butter smooth. Along with big roomy trains with buzz bars. I love all the woodies at this park
