- Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain is a Custom Coasters International (CCI) wooden roller coaster that is truly one-of-a-kind. This coaster has an elevator lift, crazy transitions, and some dark ride scenes. And while the coaster travels no faster than 20 mph, this is one heck of a wild ride!

This coaster alone is a reason to be thankful that Indiana Beach has been saved. This could easily be the most unique roller coaster in the world not just for CCI but also any wooden roller coaster manufacturer in general.
I agree. This ride is definitely one of a kind.
I don't think I've ever laughed more uncontrollably on a ride than on Lost Coaster. I also love how deceptively long the ride is for being so small in height and space. Every time you think the ride is over, they somehow manage to sneak in another big drop and winding turns. I'm so glad the world did not lose this coaster.
I also was shocked by the length. It looks super short off-ride, but the experience is 2-2.5 minutes long.
For their relatively short lifespan, CCI created some great coasters. This by far is the strangest entry. Though I can't think of too many other manufacturers who would have taken up a proposal to turn a dark ride into a roller coaster.
I really applaud CCI for their ambition!
I remember the barrels that used to fall towards you and those barrels covered in gum back in the day. Love that ride
Wow!
Lost Coaster isn’t the Last Coaster CCI built before they when Bankrupt. The last Coaster CCI built was actually the New Mexico Rattler at Cilffs. However you are right about Lost Coaster being the last FINISHED project Custom Coasters International built
That's one of the reasons I've always been fascinated by New Mexico Rattler since the park finished it.
I was just about to say that lol 😂
The New Mexico Rattler Construction is like the X2 Construction where Arrow Dynamics filed for Bankruptcy and Six Flags has to finish it themselves
@@thecoasterflood that’s not what happened, S&S finished it
All those problems you mentioned are very real. I've been evacuated before that final lift and I dread this line whenever I'm there on a busy weekend
I'm glad the line was just 15-20 minutes at most in my recent visit.
I’ve vallied a total of 6 times. 5 in the final lift, and 1 in the transition to the 1st floor
I can see how that spot would be a potential valley point as well.
related to gene?
Konnichiwa Coasters yea I’m his son
For those in the know, it's LoCoSuMo.

Before delving into my review, I want to talk about some design flaws with Lost Coaster that have impacted over the years:
First, capacity. One of the biggest reasons for Lost Coaster's conversion was to improve capacity. When Lost Coaster opened, it operated with three trains, so in terms of hourly throughput, it wasn't an improvement over the old dark ride. But Lost Coaster also brought renewed interest in the ride and attracted larger crowds than the old mine ride. Because of the long ride time and short single train, Lost Coaster is almost always guaranteed to have...
I'm glad I got 3 rides on this on my day last year. Very light crowd that day, and this was the only ride with a wait. I was thinking that this is the weirdest ride I've ever ridden, and I love that about it. It's neck and neck with Steel Hawg for my 2nd favorite in the park.
It's really nice to visit on a light day when you can reride this and appreciate it's weirdness in full.
The speed on this ride is so deceptive, 20 mph feels at least 3x that inside of the mountain. It's one of those rides that makes me hysterically laugh the whole time every time I have been on it.
Same here!
This is amazing. I can’t believe it exists
Agreed.
yeah the radius of those turns is just flat out ridiculous
Agreed!
Looks like something that would be built on Planet Coaster if someone didn’t feel like making a realistic coaster
Very true!
I can't believe this ride exists.
Me neither!
For me the second best coaster at Indiana Beach. It is not as good as Cornball, but it was a real good ride and it surprised me just how much I liked it.
Same here!
nice review!
Thanks!
WTF the Ride!
Agreed!

Another issue with Lost Coaster is the smoothness or lack thereof. Now this element doesn't bother me one bit because the trains are extremely well padded and the rough-and-tumble nature of the ride really gives it a unique out-of-control feeling. I always come off this coaster laughing at just how wrong the profiling is. But I know several people find this coaster too rough. If I ask you, what are the differences between "quite", "very", and "too", rough? What do you think?
Too is beyond someone's threshold.
It should be noted; This was NOT built as a roller coaster. It was more akin to 'Den of Lost Thieves'. The ride was revamped in 2001, to be a coaster.
Yes, that's why I really appreciate what CCI did.
Looks pretty entertaining for what it is
It's really fun because of how odd and unique it is.
Really surprised the elevator isn't why this ride goes down
Me too!
Which wooden coaster trains do you like more, the PTC trains or the Gerstlauer trains?
PTCs.
I have never laughed so hard on a ride.
I'm struggling to think of one I may have laughed harder on myself.
There are so many things this coaster does that no other ride does
Agreed!
CCI may have gone bankrupt because they were juggling with too many coaster installations at once, but they sure went out with a bang.
Sure did.
There is in fact one coaster that's very small than may in fact be more forceful and it's in Salzburg Austria. (Not an Alpine coaster either; ask Canada Coaster Fan)
Wild Train? I've heard great things about that ride.
@@CanobieCoaster I can't remember what it's called. I met up with CCF two years ago riding the Coaster at Playland in Vancouver and during his interview we mentioned that there wasn't any coaster small that's more forceful, but within a year he posted a front seat POV of that Salzburg coaster where he and his dad where they were laughing an screaming their heads off on that even smaller and even more forceful coaster than Playland in Vancouver. It was very funny to watch too! It's a shame all his old content got deleted.
11:57 tiger terror?
I take this over Tiger Terror.
10:01 *Dollywood
I forgot they yelled that on Blazing Fury as well. I haven't ridden that one in a while.
This looks like the weirdest coaster ever. RIP CCI.
It's one of them.
so odd
Agreed!
WTF even is this thing?
One of the most unique coasters in the world.
A fun little roller-coaster
