- Aretha Franklin is truly one of a kind. She can take a song that was not necessarily written for her and put her stamp on it making it an "original" Aretha performance. This was the case with "Oh Me, Oh My (I'm A Fool for You Baby) released in early 1972. This 1971 performance was absolutely stunning!
A nod to Jimmy Doris of the Stoics for writing this beautiful song. Видеоклипы
Aretha was a stone born singer, it was instilled in her the day SHE WAS BORN,there is a lot of good singers but none like HER, hers comes from birth
@tree to p I and my family were lucky enough to see Aretha's Christmas Concert in Detroit in 1989. I can't believe sometimes it's been that long ago now.
There is not a woman singer anywhere that could sing like ARETHA, she was A NATURAL BORN SINGER, A GIFT FROM GOD
In her best time Whitney Houston was called "the voice" and she had such a powerful deepness... will never forget her. I think she and Aretha are on the same top level.
@@wilfreddeboer7168 i think whitney's voice was better 🤷🏾.but i do love aretha
I’m an 80’s baby and she blows my mind every time I see and hear her beautiful voice whether she’s singing or talking 😩🥰🥰This woman was gorgeous and simply amazing.
Gorgeous ! And her sisters were drop dead gorgeous her sister Erma was a raving beauty in her own right if not more so.
This is my favorite song by the undisputed queen of soul.
Mine too
It sure is right up there
Here I am again, to worship the queen.
That growl at 3:15. Lawd have mercy.
Edward Wheeler good GOD that growl!!!!!
Yaaas
My thoughts are: I believe this person to be one of the finest singers ever born.
17865329 in a category all by herself

I agree! That's why she's The Queen Of Soul 👑❤🌷
and you are absolutely right, she is the greatest singer that's ever been born.
This is why she was named queen of soul love her voice
This song. This album. Just moves me to the brink every time. Who else does a woman’s love & longing better - even 40 -50 years later? RIP.
thank god Aretha exists, she made the world much nicer place with her spectacular musicality. there will most probably never ever be anyone like her again
operettafan1 agreed! Not EVER
She goes into a ZONE and thats it....shes off to.anotha space n time while singing the song..only ONE QUEEN *bows down*
I have just witnessed the voiced of Aretha Franklin singing Oh Me Oh My I'm A Fool For You Baby. on this here video; Well I heard her sing this song many times before and loved it, but to see a young Aretha belt it out the way she did is just devine. I feel blessed to have lived in the Queens Era. Thank you, God big time.
Aretha moves me every time. This is the BEST version of this song I have ever heard, and I've heard a lot! Nobody can top her-nobody. Even with the poor quality of the video, Aretha shines. Thank you so much for this fabulous post.
Aretha could take a song recorded by someone before her and make it her own. Make you feel it in your soul. Head to toe skin to bones
Tears! Just TEARS!!! ❤️❤️❤️
No 1 can even come close. Natural best insturment ever .
This one makes me cry every time.
Goooooone ! Ree
Nobody can touch her nobody
Aretha sings this song from her soul. She has a way of bringing the lyric of this song to life.
She's the best ever!!! Love u so much Aretha!!! From Brasil! ❤
Sometimes the best thing one can do is just sit back and admire.
A lyrical genius
Aretha and her Life story is something else!
Aretha not only SANG this song, but like the other comment stated... She TOLD THE STORY. Perfect example, as to why she's the Queen Of Soul.
Amen! That's what a lot of people don't seem to understand. Aretha had all the gifts a singer could ever want.. range, power, agility, tone, etc., but more than that, you have to be able to emote. That's the main ingredient a lot of singers miss, particularly young singers. They think it's about how loud, how high, and how many notes you can sing.
+prof32 your comment needs to be read by the world.
Aretha had what so many wish they did and emoted with technical efficiency.
Edward Wheeler Thank you. There's only two other people I feel that way about when they sing; Gladys Knight is one and Donny Hathaway is the other (there's more than two but these are the tops for me).
+prof32 I am getting further into Donny Hathaway now.
I love Aretha, Sarah Vaughan, Chaka Khan, Nancy Wilson and Gladys
Edward Wheeler how you lot not mentioning The Nina Simone. To me, she is fine soul
I can't! I can't! She's amazing.........LEGEND!!!!!!
Aretha sang the SOUL out of her for this song !!! She is realistically the best vocalist of all time
Nobody has matched her quality of voice ,range and depht. There are wonderful singers around but no one else I've heard has all of these qualities together. NO ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!The world is a more beautiful place because there is Aretha Franklin!!!
i always cry whenever i hear this rendition. i love u aretha. i really want to see u in person
Aretha I'm crazy about you and. That voice
They had too many great Queens, they all different, but this Queen here, I can put my finger on it ,a class by her self. Multi-Talent, sang, write, and make that piano sang, and can dress, etc, etc.
Barbara Henderson .... I'll tell you what it is it's that tone...that gospel tone incorporated into her R&B & Soul..she can't help it...its apart of her roots and dna...but as you know tone is also like someone's speaking voice....when you hear it you automatically know from whence it came... the uniqueness can never be 100% duplicated by any other...her singing tone is so clear, rich and distinct... not to mention her interpretation is just on a whole other level...her attire, hair, stance and expression is so captivating when she performs that it simply adds to the element of a professional performer and draws you in deeper... even while singing Soul she exudes religious undertones that tends to move you in a certain unexplainable direction... almost as if you're contemplating dancing or catching the Holy Ghost ..lol....which is why she was successful in both and can't be denied her props in either.. moving on to her style of dress...everything this magnificent Queen wore in the late 60s and 70s can be worn today...from the medium and short afro, the braids, the pixie cut, the head wraps, the hip huggers, the soft silk African and Arabian gear with the hoodies, the gowns, the accessories and even her makeup...she said herself that she didn't retain a stylist.. unbelievable!!!..back to her singing... I just witnessed Patti LaBelle declare Aretha Franklin the best singer of all time!!!!...I concur!!!
@@sweetssweeter2734 I love how you described our Queen, perfectly, Simply Beautiful. Thank you
Color Purple ... Thank you for taking out the time to read it!!... it was all my pleasure!!
Love her voice during the 70s
And the 50's/60's
@@Sttephy30 I love it in ever era because she knew how to work it.
So hard to say what dong is my favorite when Aretha is hands down my favorite singer but this is no doubt maybe in my top 10. Lyrics ridiculous, "we'll blow a Genie from a cigarette, and then take a magic carpet ride. And we'll tell our ol smokey friend, hey don't you forget, cause you've got to keep us side by side...."
Maybe my favorite Aretha song?
This was mind blowing even Better than the studio recording!!!! She murdered that!!!!!
No autotune required for Aretha. She interprets songs beautifully. 😊💙👍
The Queen forever
She will always be a true queen of soul in my heart....❤
Aretha will always be the Queen of Soul no matter who comes a long always remember,She did it first ❤😅😊
And so far the best!!
That voice
That growl at 3:15 is so simple yet so infatuating 😍😍😍 The expression it brings to the phrase, “crazy baby” is perfect! The Queen indeed ❤️❤️
Six people have NEVER been in love AND don't know good music when they hear it.
Those six people are Patti Labelle, Chaka Khan, Beyonce, Gladys Knight, Celine Dion and Barbra Streisand
Leave Gladys out of this!
DAMM SHE IS GOOD.!!! ---
Excellent job by the Queen!!!! This is my favorite version of this song!!!
This is a best version I’ve seen since soul train..
Aretha, there is no doubt you are the Queen of Soul!
RIP QUEEN
Still here in 2021😭😭😭 rest in peace Queen of Soul
Truly a diamond! Shine all time!!!! Rest on Queen.
Y'all didn't catch that growl at 3:15 did you?.....crazy!!!
I have always loved Aretha. Fabulous voice ! First time I heard her was on a 45 singing I feel the earth move and I thought , what is this majic?
One of my live performances of her ! Thank you for everything Aretha
Find a more moving voice among today’s vocalist at her comparative age and at her best... To be able to bring such raw emotion. She was the musical symbol of a generation and a culture. To be fair there is only one Aretha and there won’t be another. But I’m hopeful there’s a little girl listening to Aretha right now. I have hope...
The Queen, enough said;
we could find a few more things to say lol
One word... WOW!!!!
This song reminds me of someone who is very special to me, my wife Ronda, whom i Love and hold dear....
From another world... Aretha x
From 3:00 to the end, Aretha is in her zone as she brings it home! You go girl!
Wow...Amazing...RIP Queen of Soul

3:16!!!!! Was Meant Man!! Sheesh.
I love that song
Those 16 people can go to !!!!!!!
LuLu baked the cake with the original, but Ms. Aretha put the icing on it. I miss a Lady I only met through music.
Moniq Bethany .... well I guess Aretha is the reason no one knows who the hell Lulu is!!!....... hahahahahahaha.... Aretha took this song out the grease and put some stank sauce on it!!!... took it to a whole other level.
@@sweetssweeter2734 😂😂👍
@@sweetssweeter2734 No one knows Lulu in the States because she didn't get the songs or promotion in the States that other British artists got that's why. Aretha wouldn't even know this song if it wasn't for the Scottish writer.
Damn! You are one fabulous singer! Queen of Soul is very fitting for you. Miss you 😪
This is why she Queen. Simply God gifted.
Aretha killed this song. Her vouca skills are crazy.
This has to be the finest singer to have ever graced the earth. The grace and power this woman packed even close to her deathbed in that voice has always astounded me.
Aretha, you are an angel.
Still the best
I saw her in Atlantic City on Saturday. She song this song and I was in tears. She is A-mazing!
What do I wouldn't do to have her back if she could just sing one more song for me love you Rita
Oh me oh my but this is utter perfection. John Sivorn

Oh me, Oh my, I am a Fool for you Baby!!!!!!!
She`s such a natural beauty with vocal gift that is out of this world.
Love You Ree.
Amo esta canción, no dejo de escucharla
That run at 1:35 was beautiful.
Tell the story
That's what I was thinking. Tell the story Aretha; tell the story. She starts out matter of fact and then moves into a cockiness and then into declaration. TELL THA STORY!!!
The lady can sing
A Angel
Thank you!
