Hyundai IONIQ 5N First Drive Review | Electric Cars Are Fun Now

- Today on Buckle Up Harry, Jasper and Rob drive the 5N on track to see if it lives up to the hype. As an all-electric, 650 horsepower hot hatchback, it certainly shows promise - and with the N-division knocking every other car they've made out of the park, is this going to be just as good?

Best car I've driven all year
We can tell
True!.👍🏻👌🏼😉
Two things are hurting it's sales. Price & range. Actually 3 things because in the states the charging infrastructure outside of Tesla is pathetic. If they aren't down from lack of maintenance they are down because of vandalism. They need to speed up the process of being able to use Superchargers.
Its a sportcar in first place but can be used daily driver , bring kids to school and the man can go to the circuit. Nobody complains about a m3 or amg, audi rs about price and range. Why now????? @ericn3221
This is the first electric car I've actually desired.
So when are you going to test drive it?
Hyundai Kia are light years ahead of BMW BENZ AUDI
They've been willing to heavily invest in the EV tech for much longer than a lot of other traditional manufacturers.
@@BuckleUpShow I watched a lot of RUclips reviews about 5N.
But you are the first person to talk about Hyundai Motor Company's long-term efforts.
While all manufacturers have been negligent in investing due to uncertainty about the future and advantages of electric vehicles, Hyundai Motor Company has been passionately investing in investment and technology development for a long time, risking the future of the company.
For reference, Hyundai Motor Company will produce a limited quantity of 200 N-vision74s starting in June 2026.
The output is stronger than the current concept.
ask Hyundai if they have fixed the ICCU issue ? Many Std Ionic 5 owners will say Nope
Except for reliability and service.
@@RobertDodgeIoniq*. Not Ionic.
We own a ioniq 5 awd, 325hp 600nm and that in itself is nuts on the road, the torque is just a game changer for a family car basically ignoring hills.
I can and I can’t imagine the same car with a stiffer setup and nearly double the power, I think I would live in it.
Hyundai and Kia are killing it at the moment and good for them, taking it to the usual Germans is what the industry needed, hopefully there’s so much more to come from them.
From what we’ve heard, this is just the beginning! We can’t wait to see what’s next!
When N74 comes out, killin' it
🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
They are only releasing a few hundred of N74s sadly, expected to be wildly expensive . There is no denying they've been killing it however.
Thank you guys for your review, I can feel Real World Driving on 5N!!! Cheers from South Korea!
You're welcome - we hope you enjoyed it, we certainly did! 😅
Loved your guys' excitement :)
Thanks for watching 😁
Max 641hp.
Acceleration from 0-100 kmh is about 3.1-3.3 seconds.
Maximum of 641 brake horsepower = 650 metric horsepower or PS. Official figures take 0-100 kmh or 0-62 mph as 3.4 seconds.
Great video guys, car looks brill
It’s amazing!
Lucky you guys get sunroof. USA we don't
It doesn't open, but it's nice to look out of, at least 🤣
And HUD 😢
korean car is very nice
This comment is very nice, thanks for watching
very jealous that others get the Sun roof outside the U.S
We’re very lucky over on this side of the pond
I saw one of these at a dealership while Inwas dropping off my car for a service. It's so much bigger in person than it looks on video. On video it looks like a hot hatch civic, but it's really more like a RAV4 size.
The one I saw still had all the shipping material on it, but I'm still going ask if I can at least sit in it when I go to pick up my car.
It's probably out of reach for me, price wise, but I still really want one. Maybe I can save up some so that when they switch to J3400 in NA I can jump on board.
It doesn't feel as big to drive as a rav 4, until you reach a narrow street anyway
The IONIQ 5 N isn’t gonna be sold in Romania, unfortunately.
What about Bulgaria?
@@BuckleUpShow Yes, now for sale in Bulgaria.
This is a similar situation to the i20N and Kona N, never sold in Romania but came to Bulgaria
So would it be possible if you were a really big N enthusiast to buy across the border and import or are there high tariffs to prevent this?
@@BuckleUpShow If I lived in a country where a car wasn’t available, I wouldn’t go over the border and get it there; too much hassle.
Despite me not living in Romania, as someone who’s of Romanian descent, it’s sad that the IONIQ 5 N isn’t available there.
At 161mph does it empty its battery as fast as a bugatti can empty its fuel tank at 161mph?
You should definitely test drive this full electric EV!. 😎
We'll get our hands on it for a full review as soon as we are able to!
Is it "brilliant"?
Yes it's excellent, and gorgeous
@@BuckleUpShow not to mention, fantastic!
Great video guys!
Thanks Aaron!
So much fun, and it has a great sense of humour 😁😁😁
Finally, an electric car with a bit of soul!
@@BuckleUpShow It's raised the bar, well done Hyundai, we shouldn't be surprised though, they're not afraid to be shouty!!!
I'm assuming the first guy didn't bring spare pants and destroyed the ones he was wearing on the initial run?
No, he just uses warm weather as an excuse to get his legs out
EVs have always been fun.
Have you driven a Mitsubishi iMiev before?
@@BuckleUpShow I meant GOOD EVs. I love my 2021 BoltEV, driven lots of teslas ( never owned one ) and test drove an Ioniq 5 many times ( but don't trust Hyundai due to massive recalls and poor service ) and all of them were always spunky and fast and fun.
I would love to test drive an Ioniq 5 N. Some day....some day....
