Hyundai ioniq 5 N have a bigger battery then the old regular ioniq 5. And charges at the same speed 10-80 as the old car. So probably the fastest charging car in the world right now. For under 100k.
The HI5N peaks at 240kW and averages 210kW during a 10-80% session. It's impressive but nowhere near the fastest. The Porsche Taycan peaks at 330kW, stays above 300kW until 65%, and averages 265kW during a 10-80% session. I drove one a month ago in UK (I had a deposit down) to replace my current Ioniq 5. Very good car. My lease finishes August, after 3 years. So seeing if I can find the £/$s. There is no logical justification for a 600 BHP road car......but my heart says yes :-)
HaHa The competing vehicles you list are electric vehicles that have no track capabilities, low performance sustainability, and don't solve the problem of overheating brakes. Ionic 5N is in a different class. It is capable of running on tracks, and has world-class regenerative braking capabilities, so it can run on tracks with just cast iron brakes. In fact, it should be said that there is no competitor to the IONIQ 5N. The Tesla Model S Plaid, Porsche Taycan, and Lucid Air Sapphire have disadvantages even if they are equipped with carbon ceramic brakes that cost tens of thousands of dollars.
lol this is so funny because when Hyundai released the Elantra N, all the reviewers were comparing it with cars that have no/low track capabilities and had lower performance (Honda Civic SI, GOlf GTI etc). Later everyone realized it's literally in the same bracket as the Type R and Golf R. Eventually the same will happen with the Ioniq 5N. They'll all start to realize it's in a much higher league than they had it before.
@@meCmonithe type r destroys the elantra n on a track and in a straight line and it isnt even close. golf r is a better comparison, but the golf gti would also eat this thing up. for the performance its an amazing deal, but the elantra N is not beating these cars that cost $10k+ more.
I'm struggling to understand the gripe about the price. It gets to 60 in 3.3 and has quarter mile in the 11's so it's already door to door with an M3 up to said 1/4, but costs less. He said he had MORE fun in it than a TAYCAN TURBO GT I think twice in this video. How much does Porsche want for one of those, again?
Because the M3P that just released is $54k, qualifies for the IRA tax credit and will be close or on-par with the same performance? Not to mention the 5N weighs almost 800 lbs more. I’m in the middle of two cars right now, the i4 m50 and this car! Mi biggest concern is quality issues! I don’t think the ionic is on par with the BMW! Any thoughts on that? Wich one is the best pick overall?
love it, we have the standard ioniq 5 awd 320bhp 600nm and thats quick enough for the roads but gosh did hyundai go balls to the wall with the N, they are leading the way which is crazy, its hyundai.
If Hyundai would put their N Vision 74 concept body on the Ioniq 5 N skateboard and have it weigh no more than a Tesla Model 3 Performance, I would buy my first Hyundai (and EV) immediately. Also, why would they not include the excellent head up display from the Ioniq 5 in the N version?
The comparison quite distance. EV in Crossover practicality vs a Porsche? I hope next time we can have for real comparison on the range to help us decide better. Again, I’m in budget for ioniq 5n but far far away on GT3
Looking at the comments, there's a question about the Mileage There are people, Actually, I'm going to travel with IONIQ5N If you go, you can drive over 310 miles. Of course, the general road and environment, with the usual style of driving That's what I'm talking about.
I hate ev soulless cars, humans have many senses, sound and vision need stimulation, ev's are lacking all that, but this is the first time I thought wow, this is the answer. The guy who designed the software is a genius. Watch how bored the video is without sound and software simulation and then watch the excitement once the simulator kicks in. I think this will convert many over.
And then now, Make a smaller model thats much lighter with a fewer horsepower battery range etc. Maybe get it to 380hp and 0-60 in 5,6 sec and a weight 1700kg and a reduced price then its there for normal people and normal roads
That noise mode, coupled with the artificial gearing, lets you know your entry speed coming into the corner and when you should hit the brakes without visual cues, as you would be able to in a gasoline car. If a car is good at disguising it speed, you don't know where that braking point is without paying attention. If you have the sound and you know what gear you're in, you know roughly how fast you are going without looking; you can pay attention to all the other aspects of driving as quickly as you can. Ultimately, we may be able to judge that speed just by looking, subconsciously, but that is a learned skill. With sound and gearing, you do not have to pay as much mental or visual attention to your speed. It's not *just* a gimmick, it's also a gimmick.
What is it going to take to convince manufacturers that Americans don’t have or want to spend $70,000 for a daily drive car?? I hope they sell 20 of them.

Well ofcourse it cheaper. Worst braking as it do not possess the new tech used for advanced regenerative breaking on the i5N, much smaller space with less legroom and less comfy ride, The stellar tesla build quality ( sarcasm ) and less utility space. Ofcourse a small sedan will be cheaper than a small SUV when you add all of this on top.

Also build quality is on par with bmw/Mercedes now at least on new model 3. Many model 3 long range models are doing 200-400k miles on original battery and brakes. I have yet to see any other EV last that long.
not everyone in California. My ioniq 6 has over 340 miles range at -30 celcius (-22f) my friend models 3 long range loose over 40% of it range so its garbage and end up way under 180 miles ranges. (My car loose about 15% only) Stop the delusion.
@@zadarblack first gen model 3s did lose more range but newer once have more efficient heater. Model 3 still best in class bar none, for $40-50k nothing comes close, it’s the truth. The fake noise and styling will need to be its selling point. It has a large battery but can only manage 250mi. It has great horsepower but it's immense weight still makes it slower than the Model 3 Performance. And the Hyundai price is way over their rivals. Maybe fake noise is exactly the selling point all the others have missed?
I think people will buy this because they like driving. A Model 3 performance is just another soulless EV to me. The Ioniq 5 N is the first EV I have ever considered buying
People miss an important aspect; IONIQ 5n isn't just about high performance. It's about the battery output and temperature management when exerting that performance, as well as having durable brakes that can handle its heavy weight without faltering. In essence, it's the only electric car that can properly handle high performance.
This is a garbage car. Bigger battery than a Model Y and 25% less range. Heavier, worse tech, bad efficiency. Model 3 performance eats this for lunch and costs 1/3 less and has the reliability of Tesla. And this looks like a $15k Kia
You could easily spend that $11K trying to fix all the Tesla’s build quality issues. Start with hours in a body shop trying to make all the panels fit properly followed by a bumper to bumper repaint. Then try to sort out all the creaks and rattles. Good luck. Tesla build quality is decades behind the industry average. You have to go to a 1980’s GM product to find similar levels of “we don’t care” build quality.
Yes, but Tesla will immediately give you a warning light for overheating brakes on the track. To fix this you would have to add 15K to the cost of carbon ceramic brakes.
@@tonyn3227 My friend has one too. I found that the braking system in the new model is the same as before. Drive on the track. During a time trial on a track of approximately 4 km, several Teslas showed warning lights before completing 4 laps. If there have been no problems so far, it seems likely that it was not driven hard.
If you like track driving, check out the IONIQ 5N's N Pedal. It may be helpful to think about how much brake maintenance costs you will have to spend to deal with this feature.

Car of the year
No doubt
Hyundai N engineers are true car enthusiasts and fanatics. Most exciting EV on the road
Then give the screen a few clicks and it's a normal Ionic 5 that my non-young mom can drive.
2024 World Performance Car Award Winner, March 27, 2024
Hyundai ioniq 5 N have a bigger battery then the old regular ioniq 5. And charges at the same speed 10-80 as the old car. So probably the fastest charging car in the world right now. For under 100k.
The HI5N peaks at 240kW and averages 210kW during a 10-80% session. It's impressive but nowhere near the fastest. The Porsche Taycan peaks at 330kW, stays above 300kW until 65%, and averages 265kW during a 10-80% session. The Silverado EV can max out a 350kW charger to 60% but has a massive battery more than twice the size of the HI5N.

@@bfvaderSilverado EV would have to average above 400kW 10-80% to beat the Ioniq 5N in charging. Also the cars you mention cost multiple times what the I5N costs. A Golf R costs close to what this goes for, with 1/3 less space, half the power etc.
@@adrianguggisberg3656 Don't get me wrong - I think its a fast charging vehicle, which is one of the reasons why I love my EV6 which also hits 240kW and has 18min 10-80% charging, but it's not productive to call it the fastest charging vehicle in the world.
I'm not usually of fan of looking at "miles of range added" for charging speeds, but in this case it does make a difference as the Silverado has a 450 mile range vs the Ioniq5N's 221 miles... that 10-80% comparison isn't apples-to-apples.
Another comparison would be the new Polestar 5 prototype tested with a similarly sized 77kWh battery that peaked at 370kW and did 10-80% in 10 minutes.
I was cross-shopping the 3L GR Supra when I got mine, and have no regrets with the EV6.
The Ioniq 6 is probably better due to the superior efficiency, the 6 will also come as in an N version.
I drove one a month ago in UK (I had a deposit down) to replace my current Ioniq 5. Very good car. My lease finishes August, after 3 years. So seeing if I can find the £/$s. There is no logical justification for a 600 BHP road car......but my heart says yes :-)
Go for it!
👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 👍 this fact😊
The biggest advantage and unique feature of this car is that it can be driven on a track with only cast iron brakes.
lol this is so funny because when Hyundai released the Elantra N, all the reviewers were comparing it with cars that have no/low track capabilities and had lower performance (Honda Civic SI, GOlf GTI etc).

And the price delta increases exponentially considering dealer mark-ups. Right now it seems the average is $10k.. So now you're paying $78k for this? No thanks.

On the contrary, some have 3.2 sec.
Or record up to 3.1 sec

I sure Ioniq5N run faster than Plaid S (witj track pack & 1020 hp) and Urus(641hp & 2.2ton) in tracks and on snowy mountains.
I seen a review that they Drag the ioniq 5n against Urus and used the NGrin boost and it destroyed the URUS badly ( 3.1 0 to 60 and 10.80 quarter miles ) Its also bested the URUS on a track test in that same video. Was very impressive.

Drift mode- sponsored by Michelin
70k is crazy
That noise mode might be the dumbest feature on any car ever.
Looks like a great car otherwise. Hyundai is the leader in EVs

Great job by Hyundai, but no way I would spend $65k. Model 3 performance is faster and $54k,
You could easily spend that $11K trying to fix all the Tesla’s build quality issues.
