The phone thing you described is most of the time just basic key combs for devs or force shutdown stuff. Almost and device has such modes and since smartphones have a limited amount of real buttons it is most of the time limited to the stuff you described
Important note : Buy escape ropes !!! If you are stuck somewhere and can't fly or can't open the menu, just try to go around until you find a cave and find in the cave area a place that allows you to open the menu then use an escape rope !
@@benmiller9119 Im sorry, but at this point I think it is just impossible to recover your game from this. If you can't walk in any directions more than 2 steps and you can't open the menu anymore, you just can't do anything. Like, you can't even save (not that it would be helpful but still) ?

For those who wanna know, Platinum "fixed" the Void Glitch by adding invisible walls all over inside the Void, as well as making it so that even if you did get to their respective areas, Darkrai and Shaymin won't spawn unless you have both the National Dex and the Member Card or Oak's Letter in your bag.

I remember when people had to walk thousands of units in one direction before this glitch was well know. It was too daunting then, but this is much better.

this worked!! i had a bit of trouble with arceus so i had to soft reset from my last save point (which was the eterna city gym) a few times to catch him and safely turn the game back to normal but other than that thank you so much for this tutorial!! very helpful!!
I first did the void glitch years ago when it was still pretty dangerous and messing up meant corrupted save. Last night completely out of the blue I had a dream about doing it again. Now knowing that there are safer routes I actually might.
i discovered something cool if you ever get lost! if you get lost, use one of the maps on your poketch and find a cave... from there, use an escape rope, it should take you back to the real world and you can try again!
when i was in elementary school my buddy told me i could get arceus and shaymin through The Mystery Zone. we were using the original action replays to just walk thru walls at the time, and me, being 10, just picked a random direction and held forward. The mystery zone was absolutely TERRIFYING as a kid, especially cuz i thought i would just get jump scared by arceus suddenly. i wrote off what my friend told me as being the equivalent of unlocking sonic in melee, and always had bad memories of getting scared and lost in the mystery zone. Turns out after all that, he was RIGHT???
What amazes me the most with glitches like these is how they're discovered. Someone, somewhere had to find them by randomly walking around, measuring their steps and eventually, after days, if not weeks or even months of walking around in the void, finding one working combination.
Na, just used emulation to check how the game works and then math or do you honestly think someone walked 1 step every time and then was like “oh yeah 332 steps this seems good” lmao
@@mobious01 math? What do you think they're calculating? They didn't even know how that glitch worked, so there was nothing they could really calculate. I mean, people know what the overworld looks like, but you clearly can't take a direct route to where you want to go, so someone had to trial and error this (and math doesn't really help much there). Also, the route you take changed after a while, because someone found a shorter route, so it doesn't seem like there's something to calculate to find the best way.
Thank you for making this! I wanted to share a really silly application for this glitch; I am trying to complete the Gen 4 dex, and Glameow is only available in Pearl, and its only available post Gym 5, which I didn't feel like playing up to. So once I beat Gardenia, I got the Tuxedo from Gardenia, used the glitch to go to New Moon Island, sailed back to Canalave, and went to Route 218 to catch a Glameow. Then I used Teleport to go back to Jubelife City (being careful to not go into Canalave's Pokemon Center) and I reset the glitch.
I went to the Darkrai event back in 2009 but it was a weird one (don’t know if it’s a UK thing) but instead of giving you access to the Island the event just straight up gave you a Darkrai. So, I tried this method and the Darkrai was in game was still available to catch!! No I’m sleeping happy with two Darkrai in one game 😂

It took a hour to even spawn the void and 2 hours to catch darkai good method I recommend using a master ball if anything unless you want to get stuck with using 10 ultra balls and then end up catching it with a regular ball
Note to self: don't do this with the mom contest seen unfinished, it will corrupt save at "go down 479" by thinking that you entered the contest hall for the first time.

Ok but can we thank the people who were running around in the void trying all this random wacky shit (completely breaking the save files in the process, as you pretty much softlocked it unless you ran in those specific patterns) to try to see if you could catch this one pokemon in this one part without an AR card. Legends through and through
It's actually not softlocked at all; this method is super safe. Getting a turnback cave is RNG but if you do, just use a rope and the file is 100% restored.
Everything went perfect until cynthia I lost blacked out did what u said but didnt spawn at eternal gym I'm just lost in the void Edit: now game is crashing lol Edit 2: if this happened to you go 97 right and then 270ish down to hit the cresselia island. Go up the stairs and refresh graphics then talk to sailor and he'll take you back to canalave. Hope this helps if you have a similar problem
Oh hey, I remember at the time how people first managed to do this in the Japanese version of the game by surfing on the entrance door of some elite 4 rooms, and then walking around in the void. I think I managed to do some of the tweaking thing once I had my (English) copy of the game, but I don’t think I ever managed to walk around in the void (and probably wouldn’t have been willing to save in any out-of-bounds area)
small correction, you can transfer the Pokemon via Pokeporter in black white 2 (only case I tested, might be possible in other ways too - yes even shaymin)

2024, June, pkmn pearl german edition. All glitches worked fine. No save corrupt. I have got darkrai, shaymin, arceus (used 1 masterball) and triggered cresselia event. If you stuck in the void try to move to the area representing cave and use fluchseil/rope to get out
He played through the game, got the master ball, gave it to a Pokemon and traded it to another copy of the game, then reset his file and started again, then repeated that 999 times until he could trade all the Pokemon back and have 999 totally legit masterballs
I got stuck in the void just because of your typo my bro, i'm really sad about this because i performed everything else correctly but i couldn't get past the first pokestop wall. Be aware guys, its 479 not 497, as a reminder (at least i did it thank god) transfer all your valuable pokemon before attempting this.
If your able to move around, use fly or teleport. Then go to Jubilife City and talk to the girl in the GTS building, this should reset things and then you can try the void glitch again.

@@rayyankhan6271 darkrai can be transferred, shiny or regular, from Diamond as long as you level it up to 50 and teach it a different move than pursuit. It must be grinded in the diamond copy it was caught on, then transferred up

#1 also bring a telport and fly for if you get stuck and if you can only go 13 steps at the pokemon center after the cynthya battle just refresh graphics a few times
I was unaware of the restrictions under which they can be exchanged, but I have to tell you, I have encountered no issues exchanging both Darkrai and shaymin from Pearl to platinum and viceversa
I remember there was a method where you used surf through the door of the first member of the elite 4 to get into the void. It worked for me to catch Shaymin and Darkrai. I later destroyed that safe file which was my fault. But there wasn't hour long walking or anything, it was very very easy. Does anyone know anything about that? Why isn't that glitch used? I have a japanese version though.

So I made that mistake also & all you need to do is soft reset & follow from where you last saved. It worked & sometimes I would refresh the frames & it would let me pass through the walls. I made a few mistakes along the way but still managed to pull it off on my first attempt

Question: I just finished getting darkrai and shaymin but want to also get arceus, will it cause me to not be able to progress and finish the game since the glitch involves the pillar cutscene??
At 7:39 I got stuck in the void. I have no idea what I did wrong but when I soft rest the game and refreshed the graphics, I was still in the void and I couldn’t open my menu anymore.

If you're in the void, your save file is always savable if you have ropes. It can take time, but if you're in an area that is considered turnback cave, just use it.
Question, is it possible to dhiny hunt any of these pokemon? Example is Soft Reset Darkrai method or something Cause if so then im definitely doing this
i dont know why but after 269 steps after the 16 steps to the right soon after the poketch building i kept running into something.. maybe a trainer is there because it makes the "!" noise and then promptly crashes
It writes data into the void that is necessary in order to get the wanted masp to appear If you don't wait for the logo, then void areas that are Spear Pillar in the video are Mystery Zones for you
when going the 430 steps up, i run into what sounds like an encounter and my game crashes at anywhere from 269 steps to 285, it seems to alternate, is this just that i have a cartridge that doesn’t work or can i do something else to fix it?
Probably had a copy of Pokémon emerald. In Pokémon emerald you can clone items through a glitch and he probably sent Pokémon holding the master balls from emerald to diamond and obtained the master balls.
So will Pokemon bank not work if those requirements aren't met? Why/How does it break? I presume it's fine trading over to other Gen IV like HG? I'd like to transfer over a Hall of Origin Arceus to later generations as it looks more impressive :)
Ended up deciding to only do Shaymin early game because it’s stuck here(no point shiny hunting) it’s low level is convenient at this point too But used it to get through the story up to the masterball. Went to do arceus and left 1 party slot open to hold the first one I catch. Use masterball on the first one, then move it to the front of the party and use it to catch the moveable one. 2 level 80s and don’t even have the 8th badge yet Haven’t decided if I shiny hunt darkrai before or after elite 4. Thinking before so I can have them all in my first hall of fame together (If you do DNS cheese you could just dupe your masterball too… but this is more fun)
at 6:03 where you needed to ride down 2 steps and refresh to get into the pokemon center it only let me go 1 step and then wouldnt let me back into the pokemon center now im stuck in the void lol Edit: idk what happened but i just reloaded the save and repeated everything i did and it worked lol

FYI I am able to transfer the Hall of Origin Arceus from my Diamond game to Pearl game. Will try to also trade it to Heartgold/Soulsilver to activate the Sinjoh ruins event
And I noticed something, when trying to glitch inside the pokemon center. When you have to step down 2 steps (after which you use the pokedex to refresh), you have to do it in a continous way. You cannot do 2 separate steps as you'll get blocked after the first step. Luckily you can just soft reset and then try again. But just so you guys know

I caught darkrai and Shaymin in my pearl game and wanted to try and catch arceus in my diamond game (recently restarted the file for fun) then transfer it to heart gold to do the sinjoh ruins event and get my lvl 1 palkia/dialga/giritina (havent decided yet i love all three of them)

@@rayyankhan6271 darkrai can be transferred, shiny or regular, from Diamond as long as you level it up to 50 and teach it a different move than pursuit. It must be grinded in the diamond copy it was caught on, then transferred up

#1 also bring a telport and fly for if you get stuck and if you can only go 13 steps at the pokemon center after the cynthya battle just refresh graphics a few times
I was unaware of the restrictions under which they can be exchanged, but I have to tell you, I have encountered no issues exchanging both Darkrai and shaymin from Pearl to platinum and viceversa

I remember there was a method where you used surf through the door of the first member of the elite 4 to get into the void. It worked for me to catch Shaymin and Darkrai. I later destroyed that safe file which was my fault. But there wasn't hour long walking or anything, it was very very easy.

At 6:02 I can only walk down 1 step and after resetting the graphics I cant walk through the wall.. do you have any idea how to fix this? 🤞
Never mind, I think the problem was that I reset normally and not soft reset, worked now!
It all worked until I reached the Pokemon center because I wasn't able to go through the wall sadly

So I made that mistake also & all you need to do is soft reset & follow from where you last saved. It worked & sometimes I would refresh the frames & it would let me pass through the walls. I made a few mistakes along the way but still managed to pull it off on my first attempt
Dude. So this wasn't just something that randomly happened to me, you could make this happen. I used to brag to my friends about my full pc of arceus. Traded so many.

At 7:39 I got stuck in the void. I have no idea what I did wrong but when I soft rest the game and refreshed the graphics, I was still in the void and I couldn’t open my menu anymore.
At 5:40, do i need to soft reset? my bumpers are broken, so can i just turn off the ds and start the game like normal?

If you're in the void, your save file is always savable if you have ropes.
It can take time, but if you're in an area that is considered turnback cave, just use it.
i have a question if you do as you say will your game be able to make new saves as normal or will it be broken forever?
You will be able to save like normal after! Also if you get stuck in the void you can always erase your save data and start a new one

i dont know why but after 269 steps after the 16 steps to the right soon after the poketch building i kept running into something.. maybe a trainer is there because it makes the "!" noise and then promptly crashes
i think i may have found the issue and it may be that i didn't have the pal pad at the time
I have a question, why do you have to wait for the black and white Pokemon logo?
It writes data into the void that is necessary in order to get the wanted masp to appear
If you don't wait for the logo, then void areas that are Spear Pillar in the video are Mystery Zones for you

when going the 430 steps up, i run into what sounds like an encounter and my game crashes at anywhere from 269 steps to 285, it seems to alternate, is this just that i have a cartridge that doesn’t work or can i do something else to fix it?

Probably had a copy of Pokémon emerald. In Pokémon emerald you can clone items through a glitch and he probably sent Pokémon holding the master balls from emerald to diamond and obtained the master balls.

I love using mew to beat gen1, hopefully this is similar and doesn’t break any of the story xD
Ended up deciding to only do Shaymin early game because it’s stuck here(no point shiny hunting) it’s low level is convenient at this point too
But used it to get through the story up to the masterball.
Went to do arceus and left 1 party slot open to hold the first one I catch.
Use masterball on the first one, then move it to the front of the party and use it to catch the moveable one.
2 level 80s and don’t even have the 8th badge yet
Haven’t decided if I shiny hunt darkrai before or after elite 4.
Thinking before so I can have them all in my first hall of fame together
(If you do DNS cheese you could just dupe your masterball too… but this is more fun)

at 6:03 where you needed to ride down 2 steps and refresh to get into the pokemon center it only let me go 1 step and then wouldnt let me back into the pokemon center

They can, just not arceus unless lvl 100 can go to bank.
You also cant get shaymin sky form this way in plat, they coded it that way.

I returned to the glitch and it worked somewhat, when I got to the poke center it wouldn't let me reset the graphics to glitch me inside
FYI I am able to transfer the Hall of Origin Arceus from my Diamond game to Pearl game. Will try to also trade it to Heartgold/Soulsilver to activate the Sinjoh ruins event
Also I could not escape the first arceus for 3 times lol made me scared asf
And I noticed something, when trying to glitch inside the pokemon center. When you have to step down 2 steps (after which you use the pokedex to refresh), you have to do it in a continous way. You cannot do 2 separate steps as you'll get blocked after the first step. Luckily you can just soft reset and then try again. But just so you guys know

I caught darkrai and Shaymin in my pearl game and wanted to try and catch arceus in my diamond game (recently restarted the file for fun) then transfer it to heart gold to do the sinjoh ruins event and get my lvl 1 palkia/dialga/giritina (havent decided yet i love all three of them)
