  • Time to sift through the mountains of sheet masks I have accumulated and pick some of my most recent favorites! And no, I didn't film this all in one day, haha! I filmed this over a few days but still, my skin has never felt better from using 1-2 sheet masks/day! I tend to use sheet masks a couple of times a week or whenever I feel like I want that pampering, or need some extra care.

    Recently I have fallen in love with the ARITAUM Fresh Essence Mask -Rice.
    I have oily/combination skin and mild rosacea, I am in my 30s and so I am starting to see signs of aging (fine/expressions lines).
    I used this mask one evening before bedtime and it felt wonderful. I was lying in bed and so I took it off after an appropriate amount of time, quickly patted the leftover serum into my skin and went to sleep.
    The next morning as I woke up, my husband (just woken up, still in bed) told me that my face looked "extra beautiful this morning". I got up and checked myself in the mirror. I was amazed! My skin looked plump and firm, my fine lines and EVEN my redness had disappeared and my skin looked radiant.
    The effects of the mask (fine line and redness erasure) lasted me 2 days and even though my skin was oilier than average on the first day (to be fair, the mask is rich in emollients and humectants), I loved/love it. If you have oily/combination skin like mine, you could/should cut the middle/nose part of the mask before applying it and avoiding having it over the nose/oily area.
    The fact that you can get it for $1-$1.50 is a huge plus. Specifically the Rice pack is the only one that contains niacinamide. Highly recommend!

      haha! Thank you Tina! Trust me, you don't see how much mask-manipulation goes on to get it on right :) Btw, any recommendations of where to shop in HK other than Sasa?

    • @Ieat2much
      @Ieat2much 8 лет назад +2

      Ah yes! Now Causeway Bay is best. Causeway Bay station, MTR Exit D4 comes onto one end of Lockhart Road and that street has ColourMix, SweetMay (Korean Sasa :))) Sasa , Innisfree, Skinfood. Do not go to Bonjour. It's poor man's Sasa Haha. but worse they might sell expired stuff. Not dangerous just not fresh. The massive (drugstore) Mannings at Causeway Bay (Jaffe Road) is the only one that stocks MISSHA. Causeway Bay near Times Square has Sasa Flagship store! I have to warn you Amorepacific EYe roller is not available in HK :(. (drugstore) Wastons again Causeway Bay Plaza 1 has Taiwanese facemasks and that bubbling Miss Piggy facemask too. Causeway Bay near Caroline Centre has DHC store. I could go on and on...

    • @Ieat2much
      @Ieat2much 8 лет назад +1

      OMG few more: Island Beverly Causeway Bay next to Sogo has Korean Fashion and Makeup in that building. And it will come to me...but there is also a massive store FACESS at Ocean Terminal TST ferrry pier. So many many Korean brands including Tony Moly. psst please buy Bioderma from Sasa and NOT from Watsons or Mannings. Way cheaper and the REAL DEAL. xoxo

    Renee, I use sheet masks now after seeing your video on them, but came across cheaper versions in our local drug store chain that I like. The one I had been getting is a 3 for $5 deal on a hydrating hyaluronic acid mask, and I tried their revitalizing mask today and like it even more. Although I wish I could afford all the brands that you review, I do use some products that you had mentioned in other videos like the Tony Moly banana lip balm, Clarins lip oil, AmorePacific eye revitalizing essence, and Drunk Elephant serums. The self heating eye masks are also so nice. Thanks for introducing us to products that we may never have heard of if not for this channel.

    I've started using sheet masks ever since I saw this video because my skin has been extremely dry and flaky for the past couple years. I noticed I would get dry patches even after I applied oils, lotions, thick creams, etc. I thought it was due to not exfoliating enough (or my case, at times, not exfoliating at all). However, I've been using sheet masks almost every single day these past few weeks and my skin has done a complete 180. I do it after I wash my face with a konjac sponge for gentle exfoliation and it's really helped to even out my skin tone and improve my skin texture. I'm hoping to gradually incorporate more products and steps you've mentioned in your other videos. Thank you!

    wow! this seriously opened my eyes to sheet masks - all of these are so interesting... I added about 5 to my wish list. That Whamisa mask looks especially fantastic - I love fermented ingredients. Have you ever tried the Kypris Moonlight Catalyst? It's not a mask, but I just started using it & it has fermented pumpkin, fermented radish, peptides, great plant extracts - I think you might really like it! It's a lovely alternative to retinols. Thank you! Yes, I did a routine for long haul flights. Do you think the breaking out might have to do with touching your face in flight? That has happened to me before.

    Hi Renee,Thank you for the video, as usual all the info we need on these masks, I've never tried sheet masks I don't know why, I will be giving them ago now though. Thanks again Ria x

    Haven't tried the chamomile + tea tree mask from Bonvivant, but as for the mint + tea tree one, oh MY MY.
    It is an absolutely lovely mask, especially for my troubled, acne-prone skin. It always calms down my skin and makes it so soft after using it.
    I have yet to try the brightening mask from Blossom Jeju, but I'm very excited to try it.
    I'm saving up to use it when my fiance comes to the U.S. so I can show him some bright, glowing skin.^^

    Oh yes...I have quite the pile of masks too! I've been using the Martinni brand sheet masks, I like them, but they are pricey. I recently found some rubber/algin masks (also by Martinni) to try after your rubber mask video. These don't have as many good skin ingredients like the masks you just mentioned. I've also been liking some cream masks I got at Whole Foods (by Andalou) full of stem cells :-) I love the idea of the 2 step (esp with oil) masks! I really want to try the one with the lactic acid....thanks for sharing!!

      Thank you Laura! Sheet masks are getting better and better and the mask fabrics are evolving too. I find that my taste is getting more and more expensive with the mask materials. They really make a difference!

      There's scandal going on in Korea about how most sheet masks are made at home with questionable hygiene. There are some investigation that reveals some big brands like M**iheal and S***hasoo fold their sheet masks on a table that was used over and over again without being cleaned once in awhile, and by hand. The folding I mean. Also, there are some gory pictures of the hands folding the masks without gloves.

    Hi! Your skin look beautiful. I can't stop watching your videos, you are one of kind, never saw another youtube channel as interesting as you.
    I tried my first sheet mask few days ago, but I bought it before I knew your channel. Its one from etude house, the royal jelly one and it was awesome, but thanks to your advice I now know that I did not keep it long enough as the essence was still thick on my face, now I know I can keep it longer than 10 min.
    I so want to try those that you suggested in this video and your previous sheet mask video. Definitely, it is an awesome idea to make a sheet mask video more often.
    Also, can you make a video about sleeping masks please?

      Hi Christine! Thank you so much! Actually I have planned to do a video on this. Though I will say, I never go to the gym with make up on. I remove it before always. A personal choice because it's really not great to go for a sweat session with all that stuff on your face including sunscreen!
