I am so pumped for this, Jefe!!! Solid man, and I can't wait to support him! I have an adventure channel, too, and I hope to see you out there, Jefe!
TIMOTHY TIMOTHY where on earth did you go.
TIMOTHY TIMOTHY god why don't i know?
How about naming it Jefe's Hyjinx
There's Matt, casually mentioning poison oak sap and me, several hundred miles away, getting all itchy just on spec.
Sweetness. Luv it:)
It is just so heartwarming how Matt and his family and crew lovingly take care of Ed.
Is Ed Jaime's dad?
@@fawshaw3361, no. Ed was living in a trailer on the property when Matt bought it. They allowed Ed to stay there and he became the caretaker for the property.
@@fawshaw3361he came with the property, must’ve been friends of the previous owner
@@Group_AnonymousHe was the previous owner. Matt bought Winder towing from him.
It's funny how nearly every shop has an old dude that just chills there. At the shop I worked at for a while we had an old dude named Tiny who was chill out and tell stories about the old days.
Ed is a golden personality surrounded by friends of the best quality. My congratulations Ed!
Rhett is a funny kid. He seems reluctant to speak and when he does it’s usually pretty funny. A great deadpan delivery. “It’s a little weak”. lol.
He's cute 😊
Why does Rhett have the thickest accent out of the family? Lol
Rhett's got a small cat fan base.🎉
A whole family of genuinely nice, talented, and engaging people. Must be because they all pronounce “Hurricane” correctly. (Consistent with Eastern Shore Maryland tradition.) Not necessarily logical, but it is the only explanation I can come up with.
Necessarily includes Rhett. The kid can drive.
"It's like dirt on your face," 💀
You guys are certainly giving Ed his best days. You are golden people. Finding people like you in this world is better than finding gold itself. KUDOS
Happy Birthday, Ed. Hope you find your lost gold mine someday. Good to see you back in the mountains enjoying life. Thanks, everyone, for giving Ed a wonderful birthday. Good luck, Hefea, and enjoy your adventures.
Probably not, but it sounds like they have fun looking for it anyways. Kind of like fishing when you don't catch anything, it still is a nice day on the water.
Enjoying the mountains is the gold itself
It's Jefe
I live about 25 miles from where they are at in this video. They’re not exaggerating at all with how difficult it is to climb out of those rugged river canyons. It gives you a tiny idea of how hard those pioneers/miners worked back in the gold rush days. But I absolutely love living in Gold Country, California!
I lived in the area since 79 and am pretty sure I know where there at. I’ve prospected and metal detected area all around there and that is some steep country.
Stanislaus forest ?
Is that calaveras or toulumne county ?
I live and prospect in that area.
Yes, very limited access to that river.. there is still a lot of gold there, but you have to stay down there multiple days to make the hike pay off.
People disappear in that area every year. That canyon is no joke.
@@grizzleypeak yuba river ? There’s a b52 in that river lol
It’s really amazing Kaulin can do as much as he can considering the surgeries. An inspiration!
Metal detecting his leg was the best! Lol....

Happy birthday, Ed.
I can't think of a better gift to give Ed, spending time searching for treasures. Time spent with friends and family is the best gift of all.
Happy birthday Ed. Jamie give Ed a big hug from Sydney Australia.
10:33 The view behind Rhett is something else! Not least because it lets you know what an absolute mountainside he's standing on. And then 12:19 tops it because it's that _and_ a long view along a winding valley. But I actually got worried about Jefe there.
Oh I love Jefe's camping set-up! I'd have to put sides on it if I had one though, because, well, you know what the British Isles are like.
This is what the world needs right now is love. They love Ed and them searching for gold for him, they all found friendship and love that will last a lifetime time.
You’re a weirdo. 😂 this is for views
A lot of people when they get old they get abandoned by everyone. Ed is lucky to have so many good friends. And they are lucky to have Ed.
Only two minutes into the video and man! When you proudly present your rugged beard and your mom calls you out for having dirt in your face. I felt that, I really felt that! 🤣
I still remember my mom making fun of my dirtstache 😂
@@lildad559 The day I got sent home from school for not shaving was special. My Mom took exception to my Dad handing me a shaving mug, brush, strop and straight razor. She didn't think it appropriate for an 11 year old kid so Dad took me shopping for a double edged safety razor and the blades to replace the straight razor. New reminder after that was "Don't forget to shave before you leave for school." We lived in a dale in Northern New England and had to climb up a hill and down the other side to get to school so yes I had to walk uphill to school both ways in the snow.
Really disliked having to deal with disposing of the double edged blades since we didn't approve putting them in the slot in the medicine cabinet that just dumped them inside the wall with all the wiring so they had to go straight to the trash barrel outside and not in a waste basket in the house where they could cut someone when they emptied it.
No disposable plastic razors back then.
Best!
Well, I just got back from a moose hunt in northern B.C., and it is neat to see another crew all working together. On our trip, my older brother did the cooking I washed dishes and one of my boys did the drying without being asked or told. It s so great to see family and friends working together! Happy birthday Ed!!!
Matt the prospector has a cartoon/clay look alike: Yukon Cornelius. MORR crew is always entertaining.
bumble's bounce.
Jason Kelsey looks exactly like Yokon more .
Food always taste better when camping, and you sleep better.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ED!!!
Good to collect ore sample bags from the different locations, mark them, bring home, rock crush, and then pan. Although iron relics and good old outdoor fun are also worth their weight in gold.
I hope we get to see Ed's reaction to the different cave entrances that were found in a future video. Thank you for the hard work and perseverance. 👍 Happy Birthday Ed!
Waste of time.
The way you guys treat ED is so heart warming I would love to sit and listen to that guy tell his stories from over the years. I cannot imagine what guys like that went through trying to find gold.
Happy Birthday ED! So impressive that you are even out there at 87. Heck I am 54 and I don’t think could handle it out there. God bless you all. Have fun and be safe.
That's some rugged terrain but that's not roughing it with the spread Jefe puts on. Happy Birthday Ed, you're doing fantastic. Rhett, I think that mustache might have been what was weighing you down a little. Better luck panning, exploring next trip. Thanks for sharing the adventure, makes us feel like one of the family.
Pro tip. The gold is concentrated in the river. Additionally, you can go to the county recorders office and look up the mining claim which should have the location of the mine.
My grand parents also had a mining claim in that area in the 50’s ( bloody run/ moore’s flat.)
My point exactly! So much easier and safer than just digging here and there.
@@brianwatson3705 not to mention the massive bear and cougar population up there as well as some iffy locals.
Would that work if this claim was kind of an "under the radar" operation?
@@halfbit(
@@beansinacan500 be hard to pull off an under the radar option. Every inch of that area worth claiming is already claimed. People get pretty trigger happy when you’re stealing their gold.
Love seeing y'all with Ed. And that country, the Sierras and foothills were my stoping grounds for around 30 years hunting , fishing and prospecting. I was down around Placetville or up in the Crystal basin area/ Loon lake n up thru the Rubicon trail. George town, Coloma. All along the Golden Chain aka hiway 49. It's beautiful and yes rugged country.
Happy birthday to a sweet man. Hope you have a wonderful day Ed. You are lucky to have Matt and his family to take care of you and love you like they do.
I'm impressed that Matt and family have taken Ed in as another member of their family. Good on you for that and Happy Birthday Ed. Thank You Team MORR.
There will be a day and I will be so sad. Enjoy every minute with Ed because we all do. I feel blessed to get to know Ed through the channel, thank you for sharing all these experiences with us as well. God bless y'all.
Happy Birthday Ed.🎂
Being out with Ed looking for gold an just being in the mountains is probably the best Birthday Ed could ask for an being one happy family. Happy Birthday Ed I have really enjoyed seeing you being you for all these years. Thanks
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ED. In FIVE ISLANDS NOVA SCOTIA it is about 16*, cloudy and cool. Kitchen woodstove is on. Coffee and eggs are ready, Matts OFF ROAD Video is on, We'll get it watched. :)
Happy birthday to Ed. Looks like the gold you found was the fun with your family and friends.
Happy birthday Ed.
It's great to have the Morr Team give you such a great birthday experience...in search of the lost gold...forever to be remembered as a fun trip camping.
Just subbed Jefe's channel...looking fwd to the adventures.
Happy birthday Ed. What a cool time to spend time with Ed for his birthday.
Happy Birthday Ed hope you find your lost gold mine, it sure is inspiring to see you out and about doing what you love at the young age of 87 all the power to you stay young and do what makes you happy
Words of wisdom from Ed.
Well, it’s better than sitting on the couch! 😃
👍👍
Absolutely 🎯
Happy birthday Ed! I do a lot of digging and detecting on the battlefields of WW1 and 2 in Europe. Do not throw away nails or shovels. It means something happened in that area. Once you have that you have context and more will usually turn up. Also... Try to get an aerial LIDAR scan of your search area before you get in .. saves you lots of km walking. Happy digging.
You guys are the most amazing people. Taking in Ed as family, and giving him the best days of his life❤
Happy birthday to everybody's proxy grand-dad, Ed!!!!
"it might have been a wasted trip, but it's better than sittin' on the couch" It's that eternal optimism that keeps Ed young at 87 years!
Happy 87th birthday Ed hope you have a wonderful day lots of love from all of us stay safe God bless 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I absolutely Love Ed. He reminds me of my dear old departed Dad. I trust there will be more gold mine searching parties in the future, and that lost mine is found. How Sweet would that be!?! Be well!
At this point it might benefit you guys to save some money up to hire a LiDAR drone company to scan some of those areas so you can really focus your search areas rather than just tough footing it. Happy Birthday Ed!!!!!
Ed and his prospecting buddies who have claims in that area is very secretive when it comes to the location. It took a lot for them to be allowed to go in and get Eds vehicle out a couple years ago. They aren't going to let some drone team in who could possibly leak the location.
Thank you for getting out of the shop for a Sunday episode. Love it!! Happy Birthday ED
What a family. Thanks for letting the world know it still exists. Happy Birthday Ed. Thanks MORR and all of the team. Jim and Judy in Texas. Married 62 years, 80 years old and loving life. Y’all are an inspiration and example for all of us.
all.
I grew up in Nevada city, north San Juan and the little town of Washington. This is around where Ed’s Goldmine is. i’m here right now. This is where I live. This is why I first started watching mats off-road. I’ve been to the wrecker games.
great channel cool people keep up the good work.
It’s got to be close to cherry hill
Here from nc this is the first time I’ve got to watch a video since the hurricane but I’m back we have 3 babies and one on the way the things we been through I wish my kids never had to go through but I can thank the lord we are alive and healthy we love wat yall do Matt and crew☺️ there’s light at the end of every tunnel we don’t have much but he have each other and that’s enough for me thanks for bringing alittle joy to my kids day today
Its a shame you never found any gold...Happy Birthday Ed and many more to come....Have a good one...Lovely to see Matt, wife and boys taking ed out to his old haunts...stay safe you all and see you soon
We all love this...its another MORR classic.
What a pleasure to see Ed doing some gold panning.❤
Ed is just AMAZING! You are so blessed to have him in your lives! I just pray I can be his age and do the stuff he does! The world needs more Ed’s! That’s for sure!
Happy Birthday, Ed. I hope you find all the gold.
From the bottom of my heart ❤️ thanks for making Ed part of your family and doing all you have done for him. I don't know, Ed. But my dad is a little younger than Ed and I am grateful for the people that have been doing great things to make his life not so lonely after the passing of my mother.
Your kids will never forget the times your family has shared with Ed. It will be a guide to live up to for your family. Matt and Jamie of all the things that you have done for your kids this will make the biggest difference in their lives.
Can't wait for Jefe's new adventure/outdoors channel!!!
Right 😂😂😂
May we all be able to search for gold when we turn 86! Happy Birthday, Ed. From Ontario Canada
Happy Birthday Ed from my family to you and yours! 🎉❤
Matt Making my family wanna go camping!! 🤟🏼💯
20-30 years of tree and brush growth can make the landscape look like another world. It's hard to find a small specific place in such an environment but you guys found another type of gold- viewer entertainment! I really enjoyed this video!!
Happy birthday Ed.
Happy Birthday Ed..
May you have a wonderful Birthday..
Happy birthday Ed. I’ve lived in that area since 79 and do a lot of prospecting and metal detecting in that area. I pretty much know where your at.. There’s a lot old buried ancient river channel in that area. Plus there’s a ton of poison oak. Good idea to carry a GMRS radio with you. Good luck.
Happy Birthday Ed .
Blessings to you, Ed! You have brought great joy to us. Thank you, Matt, and your precious family and all working there (we can not see the difference between workers, friends, AND family). GREAT TO WATCH YOUR VIDEOS. Love you all❤
You flatlands are out of your element in the mountains. :) Happy 87 years young ED, hope you have many more years.
Sir they are from Utah. We have the Rockies out here in Utah. They are definitely not "flatlanders" at all
Does 1800' VERTICAL cliffs count as flatlander country? Does an adjoining mountain range topping 11,000' elevation count as flatlander country? Heck, Hurricane, Utah is about as far as 'flatland' as possible.
Happy Birthday Ed! 87, and still the same guy!
Have a candle or lighter when in caves. High up is usually ok, but low to the ground, if the flames go out, it is not safe.
Be safe, Have Fun!
NO! Never have an open flame in a cave or mine. If there’s any pockets of methane gas, you won’t know you found it but your next of kin will.
Just wanted to say me and my husband look forward to each an every video. You have no clue with the state the world is in, what a joy to have your channel to watch instead of other options! Thank you!
after a couple years of detecting, I realized it was cheaper and easier to just buy the gold but loved every minute of not finding any.
All you Guys and Gals are just Great People - we are all blessed to see Edd explore.
In my experience Jefe and Rhett have nailed the essence of gold prospecting in this video…. If you find anything you don’t want to go back. Origin story for “the lost gold of…”
I live within 10 miles of where there was a robbery of Spanish silver before sometime right before 1800. They know it went missing in the area. Nobody ever saw it again.
But there was a local family that had found a "silver mine" about 100 years later. There are stories of them scrambling to move what they could when a dam was being set up. Fun story, but as kids we never found anything.
as of last year, i've lost all of my grandparents. so i'm rooting for ed with all my heart. and happy birthday ed! may you enjoy many more!
Happy birthday Ed! Many happy returns, and gold nuggets!
Ed is an outstanding guy, and so are you all! This little trip had to have been as amazing, as it was to watch! Just wish I had the energy to do it that kind of thing now! Thank you all for the content and giving an uplifted spirit and attitude! ❤❤❤
Can't believe Jefe was able to even cook after that climb !
Happy 87th Birthday Ed, it's great that you can all get out there and have a blast. I'm sure glad Jefe and Rhett managed to get out without injury. One day I hope you guys find a few big golden nuggets. Thanks for taking us along.
13:13 needed an off-road recovery
10 grand would be a bargain! Here in East Tennessee life flight is $75,000… ask me how I know 🫤
It is so good to see more of Ed. He is a treasure. It is quite apparent that the entire crew loves Ed.
Yeah it's Jefe or shoukd i say little john😂 I'm so glad he's still with you guys only one thing I really woukdnt cook prawns from frozen, all you need to do is drop them in cold water and 10 mins it's defrosted no food poisoning
Happy Birthday, Ed! Hope you find gold, you already have platinum with Matt and family!
Happy Birthday Ed. Keep the dream alive, you'll find Ed's gold.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY Ed!
It was neat to watch you pan for gold. Hopefully, you can demonstrate the proper technique for your fans to become gold miners too.
Thanks for sharing the link to Jefes New Channel. It will be fun following him through his excursions.
HAPPY B DAY ED!
Great adventure for the family! Fun to see you all do this odd thing! Rhett smiles like the Jack Nicholas's Joker! LOL.. cool!
Love the look of the “gold camp”
What a wonderful activity for Ed... blessing to all of you for the gift to Ed.
4:26 Rhett got me laughing 🤣🤣🤣
I just came here to comment that lol that kid is hilarious!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ED 🎉!!! Keep chasing that black sand and quartz out croppings ! You’re a wonderful man with a passion and I love seeing you go after it and enjoying life !

87 years old wow. I hope If I make it to 87 that I'm still as active as Ed. Happy Birthday Ed. Hope you found a mother load of gold.
Best of birthdays Edd 🎉🎉 find the motherlode!!
Happy birthday Ed congratulations my Dad was 86 when he passed of 6 bout's of Cancer May you have many more gold adventures in the many years to come.
Ed at 87 has better stamina than me at 47.
Good to see Ed back. These old guys are worth their weight in gold. You guys found gold its Ed, I hope and pray he's around for a while.
Happy Ed.
🎂🍧.
Sorry you didn't find anything.
Just means it's still there.
It's got to be in the place that you wouldn't think there was gold.
Take care bud and many more to you. And thank you Matt and family.❤🤜🏽💥🤛🏽🫱🏽🫲🏽🪶
😎✌🏽.
Too bad you did not find Ed's mine, but it's really great that you all took off with him and Fred to look. At least you all had an adventure, got some exercise and saw some of God's beautiful country. Thanks for sharing!
Wow people comment fast, I'm 11th in 11 seconds. Love the show, Ed is the best
Another great video. Great to see Ed again.
Been watching channel for a couple of years now. I enjoy the values everyone "lives" while getting people unstuck. Very inspirational. But I find inspiration in another way too.
I like to camp and off-road. Sometimes I will do some dumb stuff. Really dumb. Capital "D" dumb. I will feel lucky for not getting anyone hurt or my rig destroyed. And I will feel like a total jack wagon.
I'm not going to lie . . . I watch Matt's videos and all of a sudden, I feel really good about myself and my judgment.
Thanks Matt and the MORR team!
Dear old Ed.
Love that you guys support ED and bring us along on your adventures! “Well, it might have been a wasted trip, but it’s better than sitting on the couch!!”~ED (As I watch from my couch!😂😂)
Dirt on the face for sure . I have had a stash for ever . And my wife and friend asked if I would shave it off . They never seen me without it . The first thing they said was grow it back . I guess I am really ugly and it hides it .
glad your back Jefe and thank you for your service.✝✌ From a retired76 year-old us army E -9 First. Sergeant From The Good Old U.S.of A Combat vet of two warswiththe25thDiv in Vietnam & 24th.Div in Iraq to include being seriously wounded in both combats! good luck on your new channel and I love this show
MATT & CREW: We should make an event looking for Ed's mine!! Get 50-200 (depending of the drive of the search area) people together to go out in search. It'll take some work and planning to get it official but I reckon the soonest it would happen in late spring but it would be on heck of a time!
Too much liability, unless legit everyone was made to sign release forms…
I'm getting the impression that Ed is very protective of the location, and he gets the final say about who is allowed to know where that is.
It's a secret area, your idea is no good. Try again.
Its private land that they are verry secretive of, the last thing they are going to do is make the location public and invite people to run all over the place
Happy Birthday ED n many more to come. Looking for a gold mine. That sounds like fun. climbing up and down mountains fun fun, glad it was you guys, Good for Heffie on an advantager. Goof luck to Heffie
Howdy y'all!
I'm stoked for being here so early and look forward to seeing the Motherlode.
