I wish I could give you more than a "thumbs up". I can imagine the research, time, and diligence that it must take to put together such a informative, well executed segment. Truly appreciated!
I agree! You can sell everything and I would probably buy them all! Now I’m curious, when do you use the Glacial Mask? Which part of the routine is it supposed to be done?
@@gothamista hi please can u tell me if cosrx snail mucin essence will suit sensitive oily acne prone skin ? U included cosrx product in every category except for essence. Why
I love your hard work, Thank you so much. I have been watching lots of Russian bloggers lately, Russia is huge on Korean cosmetics, and they do explain it well, but since I live in the USA, you are my only trusted american blogger and Hot and Flashy Angie is another one. Thank you again. My question is do you apply night time hydrating masks on top of your moisturizes or solo? Or what is the correct order, cleanse, tone, hydrate, then mask, then moisturizer or what is the order? Thank you so much! And also, if you can ever, please do a video on eye treatments, (not botox, not plasma) but on creams, serums , i have wrinkles under my lower eyelashes.
Good video! People with oily skin must remember that they should wash their face only twice a day. frequent face wash can lead to drying of skin which will send the signal to create more oil. This can be counter productive. Also, a gel based moisturiser is a must to maintain skin barrier.
@@billysangma5891 I have oily skin and it's really hot and humid where I live in the summer, so washing my face in the morning with only water has helped my skin form being stripped because of face washes, if your sweating you can use a gentle cleanser or just wash you face with water and put sunscreen afterwards :) hope that helps
Renee, as an aesthetician and spa owner, my client recommended your page to me. I absolutely love your videos and ability to communicate all the knowledge to your viewers. Good job and I am definitely a fan!! Will tell all my clients :)
Gothamista you're one of the few experts on here who actually knows what they're talking about! you give good science based explanations, it makes you very trustworthy! thank you for sharing your knowledge with us :)
This is the most informative and helpful skincare routine for acne prone skin I've ever watched. I was able to learn so much from this one video than from all the other skincare videos I've watched in the past. You've seriously became one of my top favorite youtubers.
Guys i tried the cosrx products she mentioned and ive been using them since may ( 6 months now) literally the best products ever highly recommend and i have oily and acne prone skin
Nearly 18 minutes of video with Renée feels like a real treat! You're one of the rare gurus on YT that I've actually watched ALL the videos -undoubtedly one of the best beauty channels ever. x Davie
I am amazed at how affordable most of these products are! I'm always watching skincare videos because I want to learn more so I can improve my skin, but most of the products recommended tend to be very expensive and would break my budget. So happy I found this video and excited to try some of these things out!
Rene, could you please do a nighttime routine for oily acne prone skin? I'm still learning what to wear in regards to Acids at night and protection during the day. I noticed you didn't use oil in this video, yet I know oils are good for skin like this.
Renee, your videos are so good, I just want to cry. I greatly appreciate how you break everything down, talk about the actual science of how our skin works, which appeals to the science nerd in me, and explain the purpose of every single skincare product. Your attention to detail appeals to my meticulous nature, but your clear, methodical, organized way of presenting all of this information prevents me from wanting to pull my hair out. While you are an excellent salesperson, you don't pressure people, or insist on a one size fits all approach, and say that every person must have an expensive ten step skincare routine. Your focus is on the quality of ingredients and effectiveness of the products. I sincerely thank you for your hard work, and sharing your extensive experience and knowledge. You are demystifying and simplifying this entire concept, and we appreciate you.
Firstly,I watched this video to cure my oily skin but on my first second I keep watching you instead of focusing on the ingredients.lots of love from Nepal
I have referred back to this video countless times and have purchased a LARGE number of the recommended products here. WOW ! Thank you SO much. My skin is healing soooo much. For the first time in as long as I can remember, my pores are not super congested and large, and my breakouts have minimized substantially. Such a fan for life. I have also seen you recommend Matcha products in other videos- I have very acne sensitive/hormonal acne skin and using the Matcha mask from Boscia has done WONDERS as well! Thanks so much! Keep up the amazing work
Why did I discover you just now?!? You're one of those youtubers that are well spoken and very detailed and I love that! Plus you're voice is very pleasant to the ears. I've been looking in some of the products you mentioned here for quite some time now but haven't really bought them yet. But because of your review, I'll definitely buy them now.
I hesitate with recommending the pimple clear pads because it has a fair amount of alcohol in it which is not great for anyone who is breaking out or has acne. Those conditions can come with sensitive skin or dried out skin. A lot of people seem to love this product, so I think if someone is not sensitive and is using this product for preventative measures, it would be better.
+Gothamista thank you so much for replying! Greatly appreciated! :) Last question, have you tried Klairs Supple Preparation toner? Or any opinions about it? I've been seeing a lot of positive reviews on it online.
I just cried out of joy. I've tried to look for a oily skin skincare routine from a person that actually knows what she's talking about and here you've been all this time. Thanks for putting all of your time and effort into this highly needed video, I already have my cart filled with all of these stuff, let's see how it goes. Thank you, thank you so much for everything. All the love x. Ps. You just gained a new subscriber lol.
THIS. I was confused about the order to put my vit-C and my Serums for acne treatment given that I’m recently breaking out due to a lot of stress. You’re a heaven sent 💙 Thank you very much ♥️
This was SO informative. Thank you Renee! I also loved that you brought up the importance of hydration right at the beginning. This actually isn't talked about enough and it's automatically assumed that oily skinned people can't use 'hydrating products' but it's exactly what they need to balance the skin!
For years I have tried searching for skin care products for my skin, and oh my god... I have not tried these products yet but you are so well informed and so professional. You are amazing
I recently discovered you and I'm obsessed!!! I'm 31 and my skin is acne prone so I need to control it whilst working also on anti aging. You are so professional and I would listen to you for hours! I didn't even know that powder sunscreen existed! I won't miss a single video from know on!
Newest member ... My first 2 mins makes me comment. U are cute ... Very. Fast .. No time waste like others.... Knowledgeable... Know what you talking ..... And I am so glad to be watching your videos to help myself. Thank you.
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST ACNE VIDEO OUT THERE! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!! IM GOING OUT TOMORROW AND HOPEFULLY BUY THESE STUFF!!! THANK YOU AGAIN I'LL KEEP YOU UPDATED OF HOW IT GOES
I can't believe I just discovered your channel! I've wasted so much time and money on skincare that didn't work and just bought things without looking at the ingredients for what my skin actually needed. Your channel is a life saver :D
you are one of my top favorite skincare advisers. I find you very informative and knowledgeable. I am a beginner in this area, I've never used any skin products before. Lately I've been under a lot of stress so my skin is breaking down. I bought allll the products that you've recommended here in this video, I hope it works out well for me :D thank you very much ! will keep you updated.
I just happened to stumble upon this video and the only thing I can say is THANK YOU. I learned how to correctly layer the products, the importance of actives, and the difference between moisturizing and hydration from an amazing blogger (Snow white and the asian pear), and ever since I found her out I haven't been able to find A SINGLE RUclipsR who was as informative as her. I am so happy I found you today. I am so glad to see that you're recommending products that actually work and explaing the properties of the mentioned products in depth and not because they have a nice packaging or because the video was sponsored :*
You're literally the best RUclipsr for skincare! I used to always love watching makeup tutorials, but as I've gotten into my mid twenties I got more into skincare and I learn so much from you! Thank you thank you thank you! You're amazing! 💕❤️
Gosh I am obsessed with these videos. I may or may not have seen this particular one 3 times...so far ;0 Anyway easily the most knowledgeable skin care RUclipsr by far. I think the genuine concern she shows for those like me who are trying to figure out where they fit in this crazy world of skin care, endless products, endless treatments and its endless -What goes with what, when, how? Umm where?? lol And just before she drops the mic on all the other half hearted advice givers RUclips has to offer. She lays it out in a seriously knowledgeable yet easy to understand way. This channel is beginning to save me from my own recent skin nightmare. I couldnt be more greatful. Thank you :0
I absolutely love how knowledgeable and professional you are. I also know how these videos go.... I watch the video and I think to myself, "wow, that product sounds great I'd love to try it." Then I click the link and see $130 and I'm like wow... "only $1000 for everything they use" so just for giggles i clicked the links you had. 10 DOLLARS! I am absolutely SO HAPPY that you have found great and affordable products for us!
I have really oily skin. Furthermore, the country I am living in is so warm and humid all year round which makes my skin worse. My skin stopped breaking out as much because I use foaming net to lather up thick creamy foam to double cleanse my face every night. Following on, I would apply a light hydrating lotion(toner) by patting lightly into my skin, and a hydrating serum thereafter. The hydrating serum I am currently using is the Innisfree's green tea seed serum (it is a little not hydrating enough for me imo because I have used products from Hanyul before and my skin basically is not oily for the next day because of balancing out my oil and water in my skin), and a sheet mask after the serum (yes, i do it daily). Lastly, I would apply an emulsion to seal everything up. I do not use any face creams because of the tropical weather I am living in, and also of course I do exfoliate and use clay masks weekly.
do you mind listing out the products you use for your routine? im moving from dry city in the US to humid HK soon and need to change up my routine. I also use innisfree's green tea serum, but it doesn't work well for me and i keep breaking out.
katharinekrunch29 I am currently using Senka Perfect Whip Cleansing foam (by shiseido and this is sold in asia, HK would be selling it and it is a good drugstore product for oily skin, might not be suitable for dry skin). I wash my face only at night and use lukewarm water to wash my face on the daytime. As for toner, I am using Innisfree's Jeju sparkling mineral skin, I use this because it feels really refreshing and cooling on warm weathers. However for HK, I believe they are turning into cooler seasons towards the end of the year. Perhaps you would consider in looking up for people with drier skin in countries such as HK and taiwan of what they usually would use in their colder seasons. I use Innisfree's soybean energy essence(light) and Belif hungarian water essence day and night. for night skincare, i would layer another layer of essence which is also by Innisfree jeju sparkling mineral line. As for daytime, I would just apply Clinique's moisturizing gel and at night, I would apply Clinique's moisture surge extended thirst relief. I would use sheet masks once every 2 days too, basically I would use sheet masks from many Japanese and Taiwanese drugstore brands, which is readily available in HK too. Some examples would be Dr Morita, Kose and My Beauty Diary. These sheet masks would be used right after cleansing and toning my skin, subsequently I would apply the rest of my skincare as per usual (since I have oily skin I usually use sheet masks only at night). Weekly exfoliation I use Cure's natural aqua gel and Innisfree's Super volcanic clay mask for deep cleansing. Skincare is pretty subjective, so this is just my personal routine that suits me and keep my skin to be less oily as well as hydrated. Also, the products I mentioned are readily available in Asian countries so I believe that HK would be selling them too.
Constance Lzq Hi! I used to have the same problem like you and I used to think that I have to do all these long steps(exfoliation, clay mask, pore strips and etc) but after going for facial, the lady mentioned that my face is combination skin and I live in Malaysia which is extremely humid. I recommend replacing with using gentle cleanser like Cosrx and try out cosrx product which are awesome! And not use that many sheet masks because sometimes sheet mask can suck moisture out of your skin and I think which cause your oily skin problem because it doesn't have enough moisture on the inside causing it to be oily. I recommend a mask pack rather than a sheet mask after you use clay mask to retain more moisture✌ and I recommend the jeju lava line rather than the green tea seed line from Innisfree. I recently bought it and I think its way better! Naruko is also a great alternative if cosrx products are hard to get. You can try the cosrx pimple pads also! its a gentler exfoliator and suitable for oily and sensitive skin!
hey michelle, can i know what type of skin do you have? because i have an extremely oily and acne prone skin and i've been thinking to try cosrx but im scared if it's not suitable for my type of skin and i live in malaysia too
I have had comedonal acne since I was about 12 years old (I am now 21), and I never knew what it was. I've spent so much money on products my entire teenage years, and it really took a blow to my self esteem and confidence. I hated my skin and no matter what I tried it didn't go away. I want to seriously thank you so much Renee. I've been watching so many of your videos and you are so informative and thorough. I now have a solid skin care routine with many of the products you've recommended and review! You've helped me more than you can know, and I honestly love your videos, and truly wish you the best on your channel. Thank you so much darling! Much love from Canada!
Wow, thank you so much for sharing this with me! I really hope you've been seeing improvement from your new routine. Our skin can affect us so much emotionally which is why we get obsessed with the right skincare. And the right skincare can be so elusive. Keep me posted with how things progress!
I'm actually happy I clicked on this video , I searched the products and it is way cheaper than so many RUclipsr products that are used. You also make it very informative. I feel very safe buying the products, I know exactly what's in it and what it's doing to my skin xx
I love how you focus so much on just the ingredients that help our skin and not these unnecessary $80 plus products. Definitely going to do a spree of COSRX shopping, thank you for educating me haha
Elanna pecherle, another youtuber listed you as one of her July favorites. I'm glad she sent me. I loved your video, very informative. I subscribed and can't wait to watch more
This was by far the most concise and in-depth skincare tutorial that I have ever watched. Definitely going to give some of these products a try for my hormonal acne. As soon as you said, "If you're in your late twenties or 30's you probably have acne on your jaw line." I thought, oh hey that's me! My acne has cleared up everywhere BUT my jaw line. Thank you so much for making such an amazing skincare video!
I'll have to admit, I'm a little bit overwhelmed!LOL I've recently found your channel and it's honestly one of the best things I've ever found on RUclips. Like in my entire life! Seriously, I feel like I should watch your videos with a notepad beside me, just to take random notes in order not to forget things later!LOL You see, I've been trying to watch as many of your videos as I possibly can. Btw, I loved this whole idea behind fermented skincare! And oh, thank you so much for answering my Luna 2/Cleansing Stick question yesterday! :) Seriously, I hate to bug you but I feel like I really need to pick your brain on this matter because I really-REALLY need some help! I'll turn 30 in January, I have combo skin (but INCREDIBLY oily on the sides of my nose, chin and forehead - like fry an egg on my face kind of oily!), but at the same time I have the most sensitive skin ever. I'm allergic to Vitamin C and a bunch of other ingredients, many creams give me contact dermatitis. Plus, to help things out, I'm a makeup artist so I wear lots of makeup everyday, something my very hormonal and acne prone skin hates. Nowadays I've just been using bioderma to remove my makeup (because they say we can skip the toner), the Luna 2 to to cleanse (with any random cleanser) and Avene's Tolerance Extreme to moisturize. But in a world with oil, gel, cream and stick cleansers, tonics, serums, vitamins, oils, moisturizers and whatnots, I don't know which products I should or should not purchase. I don't mind spending the money as long as I know it's the right thing for me, you know? Please, consider it an early Xmas gift (and a good deed to a total stranger) and help me! Pretty please?!lol xoxo
Hey girl! I'll try my best to help, but sounds like your skin is dehydrated which is why you're overproducing oil and dryish in other areas. Pls watch my moisturizers video, that may really help. The one thing I would suggest to no longer do (Pleaaaase!) is use bioderma to remove your makeup. It won't. Also, don't use it to replace toners because the formula has cleansers in it - not enough to cause issues but it's not as good for your skin as a toner is at balancing things out after PROPER cleansing by adding hydration, nutrients back into skin. DOUBLE-CLEANSE with oil based cleanser then the cosrx one in this video. That step alone will make a big difference to your skin. Moisturize with gel/creams that hydrate and don't burden your skin with emollients. I recommend a few in my videos but can't decide for you as I don't know your skin. Given the information, you can probably choose something that suits you.
Gothamista thank you so much for taking the time to help me!! I'll try to moisturize more. I also tried oils like Josie Maran's Pure Argan but honestly I didn't see much difference...plus, my acne was worst and I didn't know if the oil helped it out. I never really used a toner before, I'll try to add that to my routine after cleansing. Is there a really good serum for sensitive/oily skin (or do you think that's a skippable step)? And in your opinion is it ok to use like two cleansers, like an oil based one to remove makeup and let's say a cleansing stick afterwards to double cleanse? And have you heard of PAI Skincare and Alpha-H cleansers? Do you recommend a brand in particular? Like I said before, gotta start somewhere but there are SO many options out there!
ThaisProMakeup it's been a year since your comment but our skin sounds similar. My current routine is thanks to Renee and my skin has never been better. I use the face shop oil cleanser then the cosrx cleanser. I then apply the cosrx aha bha toner followed by the neogen white truffle oil serum followed by the cosrx birch moisturizer. In the evening I use Dran tea tree essence and cosrx snail mucin. Hope this helps.
i always enjoy your videos. you never just throw products at people's faces, but rather give backround information and science behind each product. I have much respect for your opinons and blog.
I just discovered your channel and omg I'm hooked , your so knowledgeable and your skin looks amazing😊 what would you recommend to help with blackheads I exfoliate but they seem to be deep in the skin ?
I use it too. My skin has calmed down with the new routine I've tried, including this product. Yes my skin is less oily but not only due to this cleanser.
I've had acne for about 4 years now. I've been working on it with my dermatologist and to be honest I've got better but my dermatologist have never actually explain to me how the acne world works. This is the most informative video I have watched. thank you so much :)
After I watched this video I went to buy an oil based cleanser. I have sensitive oily acne prone skin and bought the Shea Moisture sensitive oil cleansing (the pink packaging). I thought it would be good because there are not harsh ingredients and no bad things in it. I was wrong. After 3 or 4 days double cleansing with this oil (followed by my cleanser), I got lots of clogged little zits. Seriously, over 50 all over my face. I was desperate when I saw it. I can only blame the oil based cleansing :/
Hi Renata, sometimes 'purging' happens when you start oil cleansing if you have very congested pores. Because your oil cleanser is drawing out the old oil to the surface of your skin so the comedones, black heads, white heads will appear. It can take many weeks (up to 90 days) for acne to form so all that stuff in your skin that can eventually turn into acne is getting pulled out faster. If the Shea oil cleanser you are using emulsifies with water then it will not clog your pores or stay on your skin.
Gothamista Hi! Thank you so much for responding. The oil does emulsifie with water, it becomes a little bit like a milky oil (if that makes any sense). Do you think I should continue trying the oil cleansing method? Maybe alternate days? What do you think? I really appreciate your input when it comes to skincare! Love from Brazil!
No problem! Yes, it should emulsify and get milky when you add water, that means it's going to rinse clean off your face, taking everything bad along with it! I just want to make sure that you're not getting an allergic skin reaction to anything. If there is no redness or burning and just comedones, then most likely it's skin purging which is a 'good' thing. Whether or not you continue is up to what you're comfortable with since you know your skin better than I do. cleansing oils really are great for your skin type but purging can take a while when there is a lot of old congestion stuck in your pores and it's a difficult stage to go through. I had it for a year!
No wonder why you are one my favorite RUclipsrs! They are not red not itching, just bumps. Maybe my skin is purging, I will give it a go and see what happens! Do you have any good oil cleansers recommendations to give me? Thank you so much, I can't thank you enough!!!!!!!
Aw you are so sweet! I just want you to not worry about what's going on! Sounds like the oil cleanser you have already is a good one. Otherwise, my next video will show my new favourite cleansing oil balm! Keep me posted with how it goes!
Anyone had any problem with the AHA/BHA Cosrx Toner? I've read a lot of comments in some other videos saying that they've got more pimples when using it as a bad reaction to it. Btw, GREAT VIDEO! I'm obsessed with this woman.
Pleaseeee do more videos for oily and acne prone skin! Even just a video on the different ingredients we should looks for and ones to avoid would be amazing
Hello! I love your channel! May I ask how you know so much about skincare? Did you go to school for it! You know your stuff so well! I am going to try some of these recommendations!
I feel like I had a conversation with my own personal dermatologist! So amazing... Can't wait to start my skincare journey. Thanks for your amazing uploads!
I randomly found your video as I was searching for new skincare products. I'm only 5 minutes into the video but I had to pause to comment. This is such a good video! So much great information, the way you speak, the filming, and everything in between. This is one of the best videos I have found for my skin type, I couldn't be happier!
Loved this video! As a pro MUA and personal acne sufferer (hormonal in my early 30s) I am often asked about acne treatments and products. The amount of medical facts are so helpful to educate myself and help educate my clients. Thanks so much for your research!
I have dehydrated skin. which is acne prone as well. and my t zone gets oily but mainly my nose. I'm starting to get lines under my eyes as well I'm 22. do you think these product will work for me? my skin looks so dull is a mess please help
Woah we have the same problems, except I have big pores too. I find certain brightening creams help with the dull complexion, but I am not using it now cause I ran out. The Ponds brightening night cream was good. Nivea brightening cream ain't that good cause it is just a layer or white moisturising cream. Once u wash off, ur skin is dull. My acne is getting out of hand so I am trying to focus on that first. U have any tips or products to recommend ?
stop using ponds and any products with mineral oil in them is my suggestion! its horrible for your skin... vit c serum will help brighten :-) also facial massages while cleansing has really helped my skin
same here!! but I started using korean products around one month now... the low ph good morning gel cleanser, the AHA/BHA toner from cosrx and the snail mucin essense from the same brand and I just love them!! i didn't understand when all youtubers were talking about how these products bright up your skin and I know it now!! just try them! hope this help 😊
HELLO 👋🏼 I bought the products mentioned : the oil cleanser, the ph cleanser, the toner, the snail serum, and i have my own sunscreen and use neutrogena hydro boost moisturer. i’ve only been using the products for two days. my skin did a complete 180. my pores are smaller, no more blackheads and my skin isn’t oily throughout the day.
I have combination skin, extremely oily but dry and cystic acne which is terribly painful. I've been using Proactive for years but it dries my out easily and I am still breaking out...I am at a loss lol.
CopperHead oh btw I wouldn't suggest u use Proactiv, I had really bad breakouts from using them. I use korean skincare products now and istg it's life changing!
Don't wait it out. Not any skincare can fix hormones. It's androgens that are causing excesses sebum. go to a doctor or a dermatologist. I visited my doctor got prescribed with birth control pills and now my cystic acne basically disappeared after 3 months.
A derm will help you with your acne situation better than anyone on the internet can, but it's worth mentioning your moisture barrier is probably compromised from such a harsh product! I was using a prescription acne cream for about a year and it totally messed up my skin's moisture levels without me even realizing.
if I would have found this channel 3 yrs ago, when I was breaking out when I first moved to the U.S. without money to splurge on dermatologists. Furthermore, some of the dermatologists I've had, have impacted my skin. I shall like this to have it as future reference, although I find that the easier the routine (less product) the easier it is to keep up with it.
Love this! But I'm a bit confused. I thought I'm not supposed to use vitamin c serum in the morning since it could be sensitive under the sun? Even with sunscreen? Enlighten me please! 😊
I 2x cleanse with Shiseido oil cleanser + Neutrogena Hydro Boost Gel w/ hyaluronic acid then follow with a toner, a sheet mask 3x a week, serum, night cream, eye cream. Balanced and revived my oily yet dull skin which I learned was getting oily because it was dehydrated. So I spray a mist in the office during the day also. What a difference this makes!
Thank you for this information! After watching this video a few days ago, I immediately bought the Donkey Milk Healing mask. I tried it last night, and my skin looks brighter, less irritated, pores are smaller, and the inflammation on my breakout has significantly reduced. Thank you, as always, for your thoughtful reviews and suggestions!!
Hello ! I've oily skin and since I've seen your videos I'm really interested into skincare products, 'cause damn you're literally glowing guuurl. But I've one question, in one of your latest vids you said we shouldn't use AHA and vitamine C together, however here you talk about an AHA/BHA toner (the one by cosrx) and after you put on a vitamine C serum... So I don't know.. Can we still do this ? Maybe AHA here doesn't stand for the same thing, if you or someone else here has the answer it'll be helpfull ('cause I don't want to mess things up you know ahah). And thank you for you vids you're doing an amazing job ! It's just sometimes it gets a little confusing :3
Also, you don’t have to go through all the products and procedures mentioned everyday. Besides the basic steps you shouldn’t skip, you can use some products on MWFS and others on TTS. I go simple when my skin is clean and good.
Hey Renee I have a question. I watched a video before saying how vitamin c should not be mixed with products that contain aha/bha because they are both exfoliating factors. Thoughts on that? I have mild acne prone skin, mostly is hormonal but they are hard to get rid of and they always scars so I’ve been looking into vitamin C serums
Thank you for your clear guidance and sharing. My sister has met those skin issues and she does not feel good and self-confident about that. I hope that we can improve her skin after implementation. Thank you so much!!!
The minute you started talking I was convinced! You have such a lovely familiar demeanor, and are so professional and knowledgeable I just have total trust in you! Thanks for this video, so helpful and can't wait for your video on lifestyle for oily & acne prone skin
I wish I could give you more than a "thumbs up". I can imagine the research, time, and diligence that it must take to put together such a informative, well executed segment. Truly appreciated!
Thank you so, SO much, Michelle! I really appreciate your thoughtfulness ❤️
I agree! You can sell everything and I would probably buy them all!
Now I’m curious, when do you use the Glacial Mask? Which part of the routine is it supposed to be done?
I agree. That's what I call dedication! 😊
@@gothamista hi please can u tell me if cosrx snail mucin essence will suit sensitive oily acne prone skin ? U included cosrx product in every category except for essence. Why
Gothamista please advice an essence and serum for morning skincare.. thank you!
This was literally the best skincare routine EVER.
Just amazed for how plump your skin looks
I love the way you talk, you sound so professional and formal, I love it.
this is probably the BEST video I've seen for us oily potatoes, thank you so much 💘
Aww thank you so much!
I agree
By that logic, we are french fries which are the BEST
I love your hard work, Thank you so much. I have been watching lots of Russian bloggers lately, Russia is huge on Korean cosmetics, and they do explain it well, but since I live in the USA, you are my only trusted american blogger and Hot and Flashy Angie is another one.
Oily potatoes 😂
Yeah you're right.. I'm pretty much a potato myself. 😂
Her natural skin is highlight goals.
Damn, what a compliment! Thank you!
Good video!
People with oily skin must remember that they should wash their face only twice a day. frequent face wash can lead to drying of skin which will send the signal to create more oil. This can be counter productive.
Also, a gel based moisturiser is a must to maintain skin barrier.

Gothamista you're one of the few experts on here who actually knows what they're talking about! you give good science based explanations, it makes you very trustworthy! thank you for sharing your knowledge with us :)
Hi does this apply to make large pores shrink? Pls thank you
This is the most informative and helpful skincare routine for acne prone skin I've ever watched. I was able to learn so much from this one video than from all the other skincare videos I've watched in the past. You've seriously became one of my top favorite youtubers.
Thank you so much, your comment has made me incredibly happy!
You should write a book! So hard to keep track of everything 😂 I wish I knew as much about skincare as you do!
Guys i tried the cosrx products she mentioned and ive been using them since may ( 6 months now) literally the best products ever highly recommend and i have oily and acne prone skin
Nearly 18 minutes of video with Renée feels like a real treat! You're one of the rare gurus on YT that I've actually watched ALL the videos -undoubtedly one of the best beauty channels ever. x Davie
aw thank you so much Davie! I was trying my best not to make it soooo long!
I am amazed at how affordable most of these products are! I'm always watching skincare videos because I want to learn more so I can improve my skin, but most of the products recommended tend to be very expensive and would break my budget. So happy I found this video and excited to try some of these things out!
Yes! I am also so blown away by how effective and good these products are considering their price!
Gina de itsNicolo
Thank you so much Tara!
+Gothamista you're welcome! 😊 Btw have you tried COSRX's one step pimple clear pads? Any thoughts on it?
I hesitate with recommending the pimple clear pads because it has a fair amount of alcohol in it which is not great for anyone who is breaking out or has acne. Those conditions can come with sensitive skin or dried out skin. A lot of people seem to love this product, so I think if someone is not sensitive and is using this product for preventative measures, it would be better.
+Gothamista thank you so much for replying! Greatly appreciated! :) Last question, have you tried Klairs Supple Preparation toner? Or any opinions about it? I've been seeing a lot of positive reviews on it online.
Yes, I love it!
Would love an updated version of this video. I’m a new subscriber and your word has become GOSPEL! Thank you for all that you do!
Please upload a video for Dry Acne Prone skin and also redness.
I so blindly follow your skincare routine. You're skin is amazing ❤️
Update? Cuz i ordered some of tge stuff in the video but im scared to use them
I would also love to know, how was the products as oily acne prone skin, pls reply 😢
You are so well spoken! Literally bought 5 of the products you mentioned. Can't wait to try them! xo
+elanna pecherle Thank you so much! Big fan of yours right here ❤️ Can't wait for you to try these out, would love to know how they work for you 😊

THIS. I was confused about the order to put my vit-C and my Serums for acne treatment given that I’m recently breaking out due to a lot of stress. You’re a heaven sent 💙 Thank you very much ♥️
Best youtube skincare channel. I want to try them all!! Your skin looks so stunning as well.
Wow, thank you so much, Mary! So flattered!
This was SO informative. Thank you Renee! I also loved that you brought up the importance of hydration right at the beginning. This actually isn't talked about enough and it's automatically assumed that oily skinned people can't use 'hydrating products' but it's exactly what they need to balance the skin!
I feel like I am now ready to go to war against my acne. This is amazing.
Wow, I am 23 but I am suffering from acne since 5 years, but this is working for me, thank you 💜
could you do a video on acne prone skin that is also very dry?
For years I have tried searching for skin care products for my skin, and oh my god... I have not tried these products yet but you are so well informed and so professional. You are amazing
Lol the hormonal acne that you get in your late 20s and 30s. I'm 18 and I already have that
I recently discovered you and I'm obsessed!!! I'm 31 and my skin is acne prone so I need to control it whilst working also on anti aging. You are so professional and I would listen to you for hours! I didn't even know that powder sunscreen existed! I won't miss a single video from know on!
Hi love! Thank you so, so much!!
Newest member ... My first 2 mins makes me comment. U are cute ... Very. Fast .. No time waste like others.... Knowledgeable... Know what you talking ..... And I am so glad to be watching your videos to help myself. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Would love to see a video routine dedicated to really dry sensitive skin.
THIS IS BY FAR THE BEST ACNE VIDEO OUT THERE! THANK YOU SO SO MUCH!!! IM GOING OUT TOMORROW AND HOPEFULLY BUY THESE STUFF!!! THANK YOU AGAIN I'LL KEEP YOU UPDATED OF HOW IT GOES
King Michael how'd it go?
How did it go? I would love to hear your experience!
Aw thank you so much! Yes, please do keep me updated!
You should also check out Stephanie Nicole
I just happened to stumble upon this video and the only thing I can say is THANK YOU. I learned how to correctly layer the products, the importance of actives, and the difference between moisturizing and hydration from an amazing blogger (Snow white and the asian pear), and ever since I found her out I haven't been able to find A SINGLE RUclipsR who was as informative as her. I am so happy I found you today. I am so glad to see that you're recommending products that actually work and explaing the properties of the mentioned products in depth and not because they have a nice packaging or because the video was sponsored :*
Thank you so much :)!!! I really appreciate your comment
Gosh so many revolutionary products here. Otw searching every one of em!
Thank you :0
Oh Annie, you've made me so happy. Thank you SO much!
Michelle L Thanks for your recommendations I will take note and check out the products :)
hey michelle, can i know what type of skin do you have? because i have an extremely oily and acne prone skin and i've been thinking to try cosrx but im scared if it's not suitable for my type of skin and i live in malaysia too
She talks so good
I could listen to her whole day 😭🙏🏽🙏🏽❤️
Is there a Morning/night skincare routine for oily skin as well?! Loving your channel
Gothamista I definitely will!
Remember me when you go big. You sure will honey! Quality vids, kudos!
You are so sweet, thank you! :)
I'm actually happy I clicked on this video , I searched the products and it is way cheaper than so many RUclipsr products that are used. You also make it very informative. I feel very safe buying the products, I know exactly what's in it and what it's doing to my skin xx
I love your videos, so informative, not one word is wasted! I'd love if you had a blog too
Thank you so much Lucy, I'm working on it! Will let you know soon!
I love how you focus so much on just the ingredients that help our skin and not these unnecessary $80 plus products. Definitely going to do a spree of COSRX shopping, thank you for educating me haha
I definitely need some of those CosRX products! Such great ingredients they have!
Yes!
Your skin is always flawless, it's amazing and something to work toward for all of us!
Elanna pecherle, another youtuber listed you as one of her July favorites. I'm glad she sent me. I loved your video, very informative. I subscribed and can't wait to watch more
Thank you, so much Amanda! Welcome to my little channel!!
Seriously, I feel like I should watch your videos with a notepad beside me, just to take random notes in order not to forget things later!LOL
You see, I've been trying to watch as many of your videos as I possibly can. Btw, I loved this whole idea behind fermented skincare! And oh, thank you so much for answering my Luna 2/Cleansing Stick question yesterday! :)
Seriously, I hate to bug you but I feel like I really need to pick your brain on this matter because I really-REALLY need some help!
Thank you, that means a lot to me!
I just discovered your channel and omg I'm hooked , your so knowledgeable and your skin looks amazing😊 what would you recommend to help with blackheads I exfoliate but they seem to be deep in the skin ?
charcoal and clay masks can draw those suckers out!
Gothamista your seriously goals🙌🏼 you've turned me into a Korean skincare lover! Lol Thank you for the reply!
This is the most thorough channel I've even seen
You are gorgeous and I love your voice! Your skin is basically my skin goals in life lol
You are so sweet, thank you so much, beautiful!
I love the fact you have used many Korean products here. I love Korean products they suit my Indian skin the best.
Hi Rene, hair care video please :)
I appreciate you. Nothing else I can say that could explain how much gratefulness I have for you right now
I just purchased Low pH Good Morning Gel Cleanser, hope it will help me with my acnes
down%town GZ-R-N how did it go?
Yeah, how did it go? I would love to hear your experience!
Yes, I found most of my understanding of how and why always had to come form my own research and experimentation not from my doctors unfortunately.
Where can I get all this products? I live in Qatar
Thanks for your amazing uploads!
very thorough and informative, Thank you
AMAZING content aside, can we all just talk about how her perfect her skin is?
Your videos are amazing. Thank you for the quality advice.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment!
I randomly found your video as I was searching for new skincare products. I'm only 5 minutes into the video but I had to pause to comment. This is such a good video! So much great information, the way you speak, the filming, and everything in between. This is one of the best videos I have found for my skin type, I couldn't be happier!
I have just serial watched all your videos haha they are great ! New subbie ! How old are you if isnt rude asking.
Loved this video! As a pro MUA and personal acne sufferer (hormonal in my early 30s) I am often asked about acne treatments and products. The amount of medical facts are so helpful to educate myself and help educate my clients. Thanks so much for your research!
Thank you so much Danielle! I'm so happy you found this helpful! It's always nice to have less to cover up.
could you please do drugstore brands/affordable?
you are so pretty with no makeup on it's insane!!
I have dehydrated skin. which is acne prone as well. and my t zone gets oily but mainly my nose. I'm starting to get lines under my eyes as well I'm 22. do you think these product will work for me? my skin looks so dull is a mess please help
Adanelis German oh my! same here!
I didn't even know there was a such thing as powder sunscreen. You just changed my life.
my wallet said no
HELLO 👋🏼 I bought the products mentioned : the oil cleanser, the ph cleanser, the toner, the snail serum, and i have my own sunscreen and use neutrogena hydro boost moisturer.
i’ve only been using the products for two days. my skin did a complete 180. my pores are smaller, no more blackheads and my skin isn’t oily throughout the day.
I have combination skin, extremely oily but dry and cystic acne which is terribly painful. I've been using Proactive for years but it dries my out easily and I am still breaking out...I am at a loss lol.
I never thought I'd find a fellow Starlight here, but hello! :D
maryam101kikiki Hello Starlight!!!! *hug* ^_^
Your so professional, if you told me you were a doctor I would 100% believe you.
I was struggling with comedones on my forehead and I found that the only thing that helped me was removing them
Diana Luckman same here
Diana Luckman
Removing them is always the best~ just be careful, because they tend to fill in again~ so keep up a good skincare routine :)
if I would have found this channel 3 yrs ago, when I was breaking out when I first moved to the U.S. without money to splurge on dermatologists.
This video made me subscribe! :)
Thank you!
Caroline Costanzo somebody please answer this question.
Im confused too. Theres another video too that dont mix this 2 together!!
Same thoughts
Don’t use Aha and VC together. They are for different purposes, and you can alternate. For example, use AHA at night, VC in the morning.
Also, you don’t have to go through all the products and procedures mentioned everyday. Besides the basic steps you shouldn’t skip, you can use some products on MWFS and others on TTS. I go simple when my skin is clean and good.
best skin routine ever. I'm going to apply this hope this will work on my acne oily skin.. you have beautiful skin
Isn't ViT C serum in the morning will cause our skin photosensitive to the sunlight?
Not l-ascorbic acid which makes skin less photosensitive. citrus oils/extracts will.
Best explanation of oily skin pH cleansers I've seen yet
Thank you!
Waiting for the answer too!
