- I've been recently getting so many questions about how to build a skincare routine from new skinthusiasts, so I figured this would be a great time to revisit and update the steps I take in my routine!
This routine does not include Retinoids which will be a separate video.
Ok wow. I only JUST realized I completely left out the sunscreen portion of this video while editing. It is in my Instagram video post though. I'm not sure how that happened but I'm blaming it on my bubble-head. I will include the sunscreen used in "Products List". Sorry!!

Arts 3 I use pyunkang yul essence toner for the 7 skin method. I add it after the drunk elephant b hydra gel and before drunk elephant tlc framboos, protini and lala retro. Same morning routine but I switch out tlc framboos and add drunk elephant c firma and a mineral sun screen. Game changing routine! All thanks to renee!!

Thank you! I rarely cleanse my face because my skin hates cleansers that aren't just water. The number of people trying to force me to wash my face is annoying. I look ~10-15 years younger than I am with no acne, sooo...

I agree that learning to use the appropriate products for your skin type can make such a drastic improvement. I always thought that because I got a pimple or clogged pore every now and then that I should use products for oily skin. In actuality, my skin actually tends toward dryness and the over drying products were stripping my skin and causing more pore clogging 😬 When I began using a cream cleanser with a moisturizing facial mist (I love Aveda skincare line and also make my own face mist with essential oils) it was amazing how soft, smooth, clear and dewy my skin became! I love your channel and always learn so much ❤

Renee, it has been such a wonderful experience to see how you have cultivated your channel over time with all your helpful tips, experiences, and particular skincare knowledge.
You glow with confidence in your own skin, and that really inspires me to love and take care of my own.
I suffered (and continue to suffer) a lack of self confidence due to upbringing and other environmental effects.
However, watching your channel continually has really helped to bring more self-awareness and conscientiousness into my own skincare routine and therefore, helped me to develop a more suitable skincare routine to give more "self-love" to myself.

Timeless.com. I’ve heard good things about their Vit C.- 1 oz is around $26 and the 4 oz is $65.
You can also order the Timeless Vit C from Amazon but it’s “freshest” when ordering from the Timeless website. Unfortunately some products oxidize when coming from Amazon. I hope this helps! I’m obviously obsessed to all skincare! ;-) 😉😂🌼🌻💐

I took notes on this video because I have always struggled with the order of things. To keep it simple I always put the thinnest viscosity on first but I sometimes felt that my more concentrated serums were in the middle of my routine and maybe not at their most maximum power. Thank you for the tips!!

My skin care routine is so basic that sometimes I am skeptical to share it.
Step 1: Cleanse!
I have dry skin so I can get away with cleansing once, but if you have very oily skin then you can do the double cleanse. Feel free to alter it to your skin's needs.
Step 2: Oil/Serum.
You can do a toner before this, but I have teenage skin (by this I do not mean acne prone skin, just trying to point out that I am a teenager) and dry skin and I really cannot find any good toners that do not contain acids so.... Anyway, use any oil that is light but very moisturising (you can skip this if you have oily skin.) Some suggestions are Argan oil, Avocado oil, but my all time favourite is Black seed oil.
Step 3: Moisturizer
If you have oily skin than you can just straight up jump from step 1 to this step, and I would recommend a moisturizer that does not contain too much oils. For all skin types, please find a good quality moisturizer to use. Do not skip this step as it is very important.
And that's about it! Part of the genes running in my family is good skin. I have never for the past 16 years of my life suffered from acne, and I was born with baby soft skin which is why I don't need a lot of steps for my skin care. Hope this is helpful.
Oh! I almost forgot SUNSCREEN!!

1) cleansing with oil

5) oil serum for face
6) moisturiser
7) sunscreen

It's a wonderful video! I wish it had been around when I started out on my Korean skincare journey five years ago. So, there was some trial and error for me. Hi Renee! I'm a new subscriber but I am all caught up. I watched all of your videos in the last two weeks haha. I'm redoing my skincare routine as my skin is changing and I've discovered the wonders of Korean/Japanese skincare recently (yes, I'm late to the party!). I want to say thank you so much for all the info and the hard work that you put into your videos. It's nice to find someone who is as passionate about skincare as you are and who is willing to share their info. I do have 3 questions if you ever get to see this. I'm curious. I know that you wash only with a water rinse in the am because a dermatologist has given you that advice when you were 16 but unless I missed a part of a video, you never told us why. Is it to not deplete your skin barrier as much? I'm also wondering what kind of first cleanser would be best mainly for sebum removal. Is a sherbet or an oil/liquid base better or will they all do the job and it's really up to what my skin needs? I am thinking of trying the Moringa cleansing bomb (I'm acne prone). Thanks for everything. You rock! Oh, there's one thing that I forgot. Asian Beauty forums all seem to make something with snail a part of their routine (like Mizon's snail cream). You do not seem to use any of that. Are there any actual benefits or are people putting something gross on their face without any good reason? (They can do whatever they want- I do not judge)

Renee! I’m such a fan. Your videos are extremely helpful!! I’m a newbie at skin care, and currently trying to find the best skin care routine for my acne prone skin. I’ve been using The Ordinary’s Lactic acid and I’ve really like it so far. Ive been also wanting to incorporate an acid toner, such as Pixies Glow tonic. Would you recommend using these two products in one same routine or together at all?
