I've heard you talk a few time about how your favorite look is a warm "brick red" eyeshadow look. I would LOVE to see you do a tutorial on this and see how you do it! I think I've also heard you mention a Burt orange look recently and I think that would be cool to see too!!

She had a few using that kind of colour but she does less of those now because she was getting complaints about her videos being repetitive which is rlly sad because I have blue eyes and I'm a red/orange eyeshadow junkie too!

Kristen Lopez She did a tutorial called "red brown smoky eye" like, way back in the day, and it's the look I thought of when she said something about brick red. It uses a bunch of mac eyeshadow (red brick, rule, and brown script...I've recreated the look about a bajillion times so have it memorized)--but MUG has a good dupe for the brown script and Morphe has some good, cheaper alts for the other ones. I would soo be down with a new tutorial using similar colors though! Maybe a brighter/lighter version for a more spring/summer look?? Ooo like a sunset! (Sorry...rambling. Makeup makes me get weirdly excited)

I see a lot of you asking for drugstore products from Jaclyn or saying how you can't afford any of her products to recreate the look. If you have all the products, good for you! But do you know the technique? If you don't have the products, there are good options from the drugstore. Use this video as inspiration, and take a little field day in the drugstore. It's all about application and technique; having the same products will not guarantee you the same look.

I forget the name..I think it has a 1 after her name or something...but it's whichever one has a number of views under 100,000 and the picture is typically a freeze frame shot rather than a posed picture.
Can you do this exact same look but on a medium and dark model, please.
I feel like it's harder to do black smokey eyes on our skin tone cause it all just looks dark.

Damaris San Miguel Try using a eye primer like soft ochre from mac/ paint pot. it will brighten the lid for a even application that wont make it look dark. :)
Damaris San Miguel I agree. I have wanted her to do some of her looks on people with darker skin tones for the longest. Sometimes these looks are difficult to translate since the colors she uses won't show up the same.
I have the same problem... I love her page but the colors do not show up the same on darker skin tones.I have eye primer,and mac paintpot but browns dont show up great when your skin is already brown...
I think this would be an awesome series, her doing different looks on different skin tones. I have very pale, freckled skin and red hair and I love love LOVE all these videos but I wanna see what she would do for my skin type and hair color.
You can totally do a smokey eye on darker skin. I do them all the time. I just did one with the urban decay Naked 3 palette and posted it to my IG page. I was going to do one for my next tutorial on my channel. If you guys are interested in watching then go check it out. But I have recreated a few looks that Jaclyn Hill did here. It's not hard to do it on darker skin tones. You just have to know what colors to use so they show up similar on the eyes. Using concealers and eyeshadow bases help as well.

While I was watching this, I was thinking to myself, how do you know what shade of bronzer/blush/lipstick shade goes with each color of eyeshadow? I think it would be a great video idea. I would love your feedback because I fear of looking to clown ish I never know what shades compliment each other! I think it would help a lot of us. Anywho, loved this look! Absolutely beautiful! :)

I feel like I over blend. When Jaclyn says keep it below the crease I have trouble blended it without going above the crease. Any suggestions?

Cassie Jean try doing some very light blending with the absolute lightest touch. You know how sometimes you blend upward to move shadow higher or fade it out? keep the brush ONLY on where you applied the shadow, almost like you're blending it off.. and reapply if you want it darker. lol its kind of hard to explain but give it a try.
I love you ***** !! I know you're probably sick of seeing/hearing that, but I go to your videos EVERYDAY. Seriously, like instant pick-me-up watching your videos and hearing your voice and just being able to enjoy your fun-loving personality. ALSO, side note, when my daughter (who also loves watching your videos with me) gets a little older (she'll be 2 next month), I am seriously considering getting Shih tzu puppy. I always always wonder how you make your foundation and concealer look like skin. I use less foundation and concealer to make my skin see through but still looks like I have makeup on. Anyways, your skin is sooo beautiful T_T
littlequake I completely agree with you. Most day when I go FULL blown make-up it looks so beautiful in pictures, so flawless...which it still does in person, but you can TELL I'm wearing make-up in person.
A great quality camera kind of sucks up the makeup. Thats why when people get pictures done and get makeup done, theyll put a lot on so that it can show on camera.
Just use a foundation and concealer that looks skin like, like Too Faced Born This Way foundation or Urban Decay's Naked foundation and just use cream products. The only powder I use is to set my under eyes and that is what works for me! :)
littlequake Well I think it also has to do do with the brush that you use to apply it as well!
Camera absorbs a lot of the makeup so it will look more natural .

on snapchat she posted a pic of her pc and she was looking at a website which said strobing waa the new contouring and she mentioned how she liked tho concept of it but could NEVER let go of contouring
