THIS BACKSTORY WENT TOO HARD! Who did you feel bad for most in the Yakone family?
Season finale is coming up next week :D
I forgot his name but Amons younger brother like the counselor dude that beat korra
Tar lock that’s his name.
Tarrlock
Most definitely felt bad for the wife. We don’t think of how much she lost enough 😭
I feel bad for the mom and can’t wait to react to the next episode :D have a good day
“I can’t wait to see more of general Iroh, he seems like a really interesting character”
Hahahahaha.
He will have a great fight scene in one of the next episodes. He'll defeal like 10 airplanes while driving one.
@@Luciothecommenter and will barely be used again.
@@scrawnytony3174 That is true, no doubt
Can you all please shut up. He haven't watched the finale episode yet, and you are spoiling it.
LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL 1 MORE SECNE AND THATS IT
It’s crazy how Aang’s refusal to kill Yakone led to all of this happening. The current avatars always have to deal with the problems that affected avatars of the past, just like how Aang had to take on the war from Roku.
Aang didn't kill Ozai, why would he kill Yakone?
@@yurichtube1162No, Aang took Ozai's bending away just like he did with Yakone, Ozai was imprisoned later. Plus airbenders aren't supposed to kill people.
@@MrShadowThief Yes, true. But Ozai stayed imprisoned.
@@yurichtube1162 I’m not saying he should have done differently, just pointing out that his actions to let people live but taking away their bending have consequences for Korra. His logic was consistent for Yakone and Ozai, but letting Ozai live had its consequences in the comics with the New Ozai Society rising up, along with Azula and Zuko being influenced heavily by Ozai after he was imprisoned.
similar to roku not wanting to kill sozin because they were best friends in the past, roku didnt considered that if anything were to happen to him sozin wouldve gone with is plan and start a war on all three nations, and it happened, and it ultimately led to aang having to fix rokus mistake and all four nations to suffer for 100 years of war
idk why the let yakone go, he shouldve been imprisoned for life due to how ruthless he is
The Guru from AtlA in 2x19: "The light chakra is located in the middle of the forehead. It deals with insight and is blocked by illusion. The greatest illusion in this world is the illusion of seperation."
Makes sense how Amon "took away" their bending ;)
nice
now that's a theory
That sounds great but it is revealed that he takes away people's bending by using blood bending to permanently close the person's chi gates. That gesture is just for show, I am certain he can terminate people's bending just by being very close.
To add to this: Amon's ability was explained in the Art Books. As we've seen in the last few episodes of Book 1 of ATLA, waterbenders are able to heal by using water as a catalyst. Healing is the manipulation of chi inside the body and it works by "shifting" this chi where is needed. Amon used the same concept, using his knowledge of chi blocking. He manipulates the chi and completely shuts off the chi paths by using the blood inside his victims.
@@AlexAlex-dj8cn exactly what I was thinking. He blocks energy flow.
*Fun fact:* The creators realized that Korra and Amon had been animated similarly but left it as it was to show the similar backgrounds both Korra and Amon
came from despite the fact that they were for two different things.
their backgrounds weren’t at all similar tho??
do you mean their character designs?
The comment was right but not entirely. It was just they accidentally gave Amon the same haircut as Korra but decided to keep it to parallel to the hero and the villain.
@@Gamelover254 Ahh, I see. I thought maybe he meant their movements, because they are both water benders.
Remember, Katara was able to counteract Hama's bloodbending because she also drew power from the moon. Amon was able to overcome Tarrlok's bloodbending because he's the more powerful/talented bender.
I was just about to say this lol
I like that about Avatar; you can have 2 benders bending the same element in the same amount, but the one who has trained their bending the most will be who has the better grip, and so the one who bends the element out of the other bender's grip.
"Defeat him, put an end to this sad story." This line gets me every time.
It was surprising to see how much bloodbending had evolved since the hundred year war
It makes sense because Katara were the only blood benders and Katara was against it. Someone who realized they had that ability and spent all of their time training it can evolve it. I have no doubt if Katara was evil and dead set on training this skill she would be able to do what Amon could.
It's like how a gene/characteristic develops as it passes through more generations
that episode alone changed my whole perspective of Tarrlok and he became one of my favorite characters in LOK.
13:45 "I don't know why the boys didn't just stand up to their dad earlier"
It's not that simple to leave your abuser. Think about it, the boys were indoctrinated by their father from a young age to fulfill their "purpose", and probably didn't even realize what they were doing was messed up. They probably just believed they were avenging their father's stolen bending.
And when they did realize, there were already rifts between them, and their father held a lot of fear and power over them. They probably couldn't be sure that their bloodbending was good enough to subdue their father yet either. They were made to keep it all a secret, probably felt dirty after being forced to control those animals- if they told someone, would they be shunned? Would they even be believed? Also, like Tarrlok mentioned: their mother. She likely how no idea what was going on, if they left or rebelled, what would happen to her? Lots of things hold them back, all because of the power systems their abuser has over them.
Be careful with statements like this, as it often invalidates abuse victims and makes them doubt the true power of the abuse they've faced.
its a show not real life
@@Kenough808 Media doesn't exist in a vacuum. People take in a lot from the world around them and this kind of thinking just perpetuates potentially harmful ideas. Just wanted to point it out so people can consider that.
That was a good way putting it especially in real life.
@@Kenough808 It’s a kids show. What are abused kids supposed to think seeing comments like that? Especially the way lok addresses more sensitive topics like ptsd, disabilities and mental health, these are still very real issues that exist in real life.
@@narutosraman its not really a kids show just like ATLA kids wouldn't understand the shit happening its more of a pre teen/family show
Fun fact: Yakone's voice actor is Mr. Krabs
And Long Feng from ATLA. Also Lex Luthor from the old Superman/Justice League cartoons.
whaaaaaaaaaat???
omg i can hear it now that i know its mr krabs
And Dr. Neo Cortex and Uka Uka, in Crash Bandicoot 2, Warped, and CTR.
And Baron Praxis in Jak 2.
and SAVAGE OPRESS from the Clone Wars
"Ghetto energy bending" that had me laughing so hard 🤣😅
I literally don't know how you wait 1 week between episodes, when I was watching this I was addicted, watching 4-5 episodes a day.
Maybe he watched them right away while recording, but it takes a long time to edit them, that's why it's 1 episode per week.
lmao i was watching four seasons a day repeatedlt
"You feel for the villain but disagree with their tactics."
Welcome to the LOK villain 101 course.
I think the explanation about how he takes the bending away is that he closes the chakra of each element that people bend by bloodbending. Because the energy that flows through the chakras is pretty simular to people's veins.
I love how you're just so into the episode and didn't notice it ended HAHAHA be ready for the finale, can't wait!!
Tarrlocks family is so tragic. Definetly one of the most tragic backstory's in the avatar universe.
17 seconds wtf
A
Why do I find you everywhere?
@@samarianowrin4740 Ikr, like this person is in every comment section XD I love it XD
Well Zukos family is weigh more tragic
Amon was able to resist Tarrlok's bloodbending because he's a stronger bloodbender. Katara was able to resist Hama's bloodbending in the same way, because she was simply a stronger bender.
+ Katara got a power boost from the Full moon
@@DarthKay093 hama has the same boost so that didn't really make a difference. but katara was younger
@@jos-josradvanji6203 And probably stronger overall even disregarding age (though still nothing on Amon....)
@@jos-josradvanji6203 well Hama is much older and weaker that doesn’t really make katara stronger
@@nanaway4074 I know? you're responding to the wrong person
„That‘s the thing with bloodbending: Its a curse more than it is a gift.“ YES!! The most accurate thing I heard about bloodbending so far
All bending can be used for good but also for evil. Since too many people abused it, Amons goal becomes valid and would better the world
@@timonfischer9679 That‘s arguable. Technically, Amon misused it himself to force people to follow him.
I would call that abuse of bloodbending as well.
But it‘s of course fine if you have a different opinion.:)
@@earthling9891 when did he force someone to follow him? He never killed someone either..
We're almost in the book finale, yeah
@Hobo assistant Yes, lol
Flamiyo
Some people theorize that Amon subtly uses bloodbending to slow his enemies down and speed himself up, that’s why he’s such a good fighter
Zuko: 🥰
Mako: 😍
General Iroh: 🤤
How Amon takes away bendig is basically bloodbendig the benders chi (similar as too how Ty Lee did it, but permanently)
I agree with this so much, it may be a different time but that Avatar climax energy will always be distinctly hype 🔥
Hey Shredder, this episode was insane! Glad to see u watch it. Next week's finale is gonna be LIT.
Seeing again the scene where Yakone asked Noatak and Tarrlok to bloodbend each other, I was wondering if there's a waterbending equivalent of Agni Kai
0:55 General Iroh is coming with a massive fleet of ships to help Republic City.
If you already know the episode you're like: 😬
3:47 this episode was actually inspired by world War 1 and world War 2.
Damn Fam , I saw on Goodwin Tv !
I didn't even realize it was like Azula and Zuko....
I'm ahead of you in the series, but everytime I watch a new episode I'm like "oh I cant wait to see what Shredder thinks of this!?" Lol love your videos!!
"This is what the Avatar universe is so good at! Adding backstory and character to the bad guys!"
*laughs in Ozai*
True that 😂 Ozai had no compelling backstory.
Fr dude was just evil for no reason lol
dude just wanted to be the ruler of all nations bc it was cool
Well, it could be argued that he was a product of his father and grandfather, the latter of which began the war. AND Sozin began his war on the misguided principle on sharing the wealth and prosperity of the Fire Nation with the rest of the world, which isn't such a bad idea on paper.
Cool motive, still murder = basically Mike and Brain's entire idea catalogue. (I KID but for real they use it a lot)
and yakone
... Honestly, Amon's blood bending method is like an all body Chi Block that is somehow permanent.
"Pre Battle romance hits different Y'all know from Aang and Katara " Lmao , don't remind me
Lol i love his reaction to Tarlok saying hes Amons brother 🤣. He truly be like "bish say WHAT?"
Amon really is one of the best villains of the series. S3 villain and 4 though are a close 2nd and 3rd
S3 is the best in my opinion, Amon deffff 2nd!!!
I’m just over here wondering how many resources Amon wasted just to create a giant mask for a giant statue. Like, Amon was very serious throughout this show, but then he also comes up with such a cheesy thing.
I honestly think his followers made the mask since they see him like a God and put his "face" over the old "oppressor"
Chi blocking internally or bloodbending lobotomy.
Just realized that young Noatak is voiced by Jacob Bertrand who plays Hawk on Cobra Kai.
Avatar: Earth bending powered tanks.
Legend of Korra: airplanes!
Well they had airships in Avatar. IRL the first airship was from 1899 and first airplane early 1900s, only a few years apart. That's a MUCH smaller gap than the amount of years between Avatar and Korra, which are 70 years apart.
I‘ll just give you some advice for season two, don’t stop watching, it definitely has flaws, but it also has some great moments. Especially since season three is the best one.
Yeah season 3 and 4 are the only reasons to watch season 2
"He's messing with peoples arteries" 😂😂
It’s gonna end with a bang Richard, I promise you that.
The editing is so on point! One of the only youtubers, where i watch every video from beginning to end
“They bouta Blitzkrieg your ass” is probably the funniest sentence I’ve heard in correlation to the Avatar franchise 😂
Korra has good characters throughout the series, that’s what I like about this show
Me, happy shredder is watching korra: wooo! Yeah!!
Me, realizing I have to sit through season two: oohhhh. Yaaaay.
“Ghetto energybending” 😂😂
This show is phenomenal. I also love how in tune you are with the apprehension the story generates.
I'm so glad you're actually picking up on things. Idk how many people have asked me to explain cause they didn't understand why I thought things were so sad or why lok is why it is. I always start with, "are we watching the same show?" Or "did you watch it or did you just have it on while you were focusing on something else?" Nice reaction sir!
Fun fact: Iroh II is like 34-36 years age in this season
Watching your're reactions makes me soo happy, this is so entertaining... I really love you're character.
I think the reason technology has progressed so much is due to the war being over and the 4 nations mixing with eachother and also the world can develop in 70 years it can be in seen in the real world too so its not to far off thats why i don't get it when people get upset about that
He is bending his blood to make his bending go from his mind and come out of his forehead
These videos make my days so much better
Just worked for 10hrs and do it again tomorrow, but you know I gotta watch your video before bed. A great reaction as usual!
Amon blocks people chis from the inside it’s like turning their switch off.
sometimes i think the old homeless dude is Jet and he just went crazy after being brainwashed
Jet is dead
It feels absolutely amazing to get these videos weekly, thank you so much, I hope everything goes well with university.
3:41 "jets" is a very brave word for these aircrafts.
the quote "psychic bloodbending" is actually what King Bumi do in ATLA, the way he earthbend inside the cage .. it might be using 'neutral jing' to bend using only the face and its very very rare to do by any form of bending, unless they're mentally and physically fit and knowledgeable to the bending itself
it's called chi blocking
thats what amon does
You gotta watch Attack on titan or The dragon prince after you finish lok.
Yo he still has a looong journey to go with korra.
We're still on book ep 11 out of like 50
@@housekinokuni903 true, well it would be much faster if he could upload 2 to 3 times per week but I guess he doesn't have much time
@Terrance Grate no??? Book 2 had a lot of flaws but it’s still necessary to watch, and even had some really cool parts
@@ChespinCraft yess it explained a lot about the lore of the spirits etc, it was definitely a weak season but still good
@Terrance Grate it didnt change the beginning of avatar it gave us more information on it. actually it gave us the entire beginning of the avatar because we didnt know at all previously how the avatar came to be, we just knew that it existed. i dont think he should skip book 2 but its definitely the weakest season of avatar as a whole, but it does have some very high points, including the backstory of the avatar, which is actually the one thing most people agree on being really good. the things that werent good about this season was the animation (different animation studio for half of the season) and weak dialogue, comedy, plot, character development and villain compared to the other seasons. overall its still a pretty good season if you compare it to other shows and theres definitely a lot of interesting things worth watching. would love to see his reaction for some of the episodes, some other i care less about. he souldnt skip it though. book 3 and 4 are my personal favorites (book 3 being the best) but i enjoy 1 alot too for the most part.
Most likely Amon bent his own blood to keep his body moving to resist Tarrlok
No cap please do Attack on Titan after Korra and when you can take time from school. Your analytical view of shows will make a very interesting reaction series for Aot.
YUSSSS
YUSSSS
Ooh now thats an idea, no pressure
Fax
I'd also love for him to react to JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, I finished watching that show a few months ago and it was amazing
I don't know if you noticed the phrases that Aang and Korra share I think the creators did it on purpose, one of the phrases is "we can't leave him here" from when Aang was captured in the northern water tribe when he was in the spirit world
Btw Amon blocks peoples chi pads with blood bending (think of it like inner gates/ gentle fist)
Super excited for the finale!
I'm always so happy when I see you post something 😌
Will always love Shredder's reactions. Always. Bro is just genuine, man.
You know their backstory is one of a few that really made me feel. I think it’s because you can see that both Noatak and Tarlok had everything to become great people and have a good life but because of some messed up things and a messed up person they both were doomed to continue doing wrong things. The kid Noatak was a very good person. He was kind, caring and believed in good things. Just think what kind of man he could become without his father. And the fact that such amazing person turn up to be someone horrible without a way to become better is what strikes me. That basically the kind person was killed. And the fact that Tarlok actually had a goal of starting a new live and getting rid of everything his father brought into it just to realise he isn’t able to do it and actually did exactly what his father wanted...... it’s just so sad
That cameo from Grey at the end had me shook I’m not gonna lie. Well played, sir.
love your vids man keep it up
A little behind the scenes info: originally LOK was to be a 12 part mini-series, but the fans loved it, so another season was ordered by Nickolodeon. The second season was supposed to be it but again they received more fan-love and a third season was ordered. About halfway through the third season, they ordered a fourth and moved the show off television and to Nick's online service. Another little tidbit, they changed animation services about halfway through the second season.
When he gets to the last episode he better not cut out the destruction
I love this series thanks man
Shredder: It’s not quite anxiety and not quite excitement, it’s like somewhere in between
Me: Isn’t that just nothing?
anticipation
Explanation on Amons ability to take away bending: Because hes a bloodbender he can sense other peoples movement and therefore knows the others next step the same time they do and to take away their bending he blocks their chakras through the bloodbending
Amon is essentially chi blocking from the inside.
Their backstory was like zuko and Zuko’s sister and The father was like the file lord you know
Love it 😊
One theory I have is when he says bloodline I think it is longer than one generation, as in a Northern Tribe family discovered it and passed the technique down but kept it on the down low, then after Katara saw Hama it became something scary and banned
Love your reactions man and absolutely love all things Avatar. I started rewatching your early reactions because there's something about seeing people fall in love with this show from the beginning.
Yo Shredder, I recently learned that Last Airbender and Korra are gonna be turned into a table top rpg. Meaning, you and friends can play as benders in either or both universes with your own stories that are either tied to the war and world or be your own story of adventure. If you don't know what a table top rpg is... In simple terms, Dungeons and Dragons. I'm looking forward to get a copy of the books when they come out.
I freaking love your videos i watch the whole tlok with you 💞 p.s. Great editing
The thumbnail went hard 🔥🔥
Blood bending + Chi blocking = "Taking away" bending
Like he's perminently chi blocking people basically
Yakone's voice actor is the same as Mr Krabs, Hank from detroit become human and long fend from the last airbender
This backstory made me think about bloodbending in a whole new way. Yes, of course it makes sense for water benders to bend blood, but think about where they live. The South and North Poles. I’m thinking hunting wouldn’t be so easy as it might be Earth kingdom. Just a thought.
theories:
1: Anyone in the avatar universe can become an energybender. Remember Guru Pathik? During 'Appa's lost days' he showed Appa were Aang was!
2: Bloodbending could definite take someone's bending. Aang had to unlock his chakras to harness the avatar state and only in the avatar state was he able to take peoples bending. the ability to bend is spiritual in nature and chakras are a physical embodiments of the spiritual. Katara used waterbending to heal Aangs chakra that was damaged from the lighting. If a person can heal a chakra they can also harm it! My theory is that Amon breaks/blocks the chakras in a benders body to stop their bending. Chi blocking is similar but temporary and focused on pathways of chi and not the chakras themselves.
I CANNOT WAIT FOR THE SEASON FINALE OMFG
One of my favorite episodes
Its the bomming of Pearlstone harbor all over again
By the way, they've made a Funko Pop of Aang and Momo! It looks so cool!
"i love all the season finales" you're gonna go batshit for the next ones my dude!
You dont have to be a blood bender to not be affected by blood bender. You just have to be a stronger water bender
He basically gives them a stroke through blood bending
Personally, I think its basically like the chi blockers, but instead of hitting spots on the surface to just temporarily block them, he is using blood bending to permantly sever the chi pathways, possibly from the bending chakras themselves.
He probably mess with peoples chakras and block the bending somehow using bloodbending
ik its like super late to say but he takes bending away through blocking the chakras that allow bending.
Anyone else think that tarlokk’s kid actor sounds like aang
Love ur vids imma big fan of u keep up the great work!
