Given Farsports is an OEM wheel builder/supplier, they do not hide the fact most of their "Farsports" branded wheels can be spec'd similarly via their WheelsFar counterpart site. And more affordably too. Savvy internet forum shoppers will know this and quickly denounce all things Farsports due to their pricing structure, in favor of WheelsFar. This point need not be contentious however. Especially since Farsports owns their factory, and is well aware of any potential sales cannibalization.
Got a 1200g wheelset, 45mm depth, 24 inner width, 31mm outer width, carbon spokes, for £700 including tax and delivery from China. Great value for money from Wheelsfar!
nice review....have been waiting to see what comes out that might make me upgrade from my winspace hypers (v1) though still happy with those for everyday. I think i would go for the 38's though as climbing wheels to complement the hypers.
I'm surprised you didn't go with 30 or 32c tires. But love the fact steel spokes still have a place in the modern market. My Yoeleo C50 sapim feels bulletproof too. Farsports has been under serious consideration for next time round.
Thanks Henry for stopping by! The short answer is yes haha. And will be better at preventing punctures since I'm using lower tire pressure. However besides the mental break, winter riding around here is mostly junk miles. It's difficult to maintain any sort of training plan outdoors. So I'm essentially exclusive to Zwift.
@@PatrickLino Agreed as a neighbour/neighbor North of you, not worth it with the salt, snow and ice to the bike. Zwift is key for the winter months. Ride on!
The way to buy wheels these days is go for the cheapest bearings, and swap them for some high spec Enduro or NTN or similar steel bearings. If you buy with ceramic you are paying through the roof for a short term replacement.
@@PatrickLino having to replace the bearings early in their life. Maybe less of a problem if they are ridden in great conditions, but where I live (UK) ceramic bearings last no time at all (a few thousand K max) - and that's top end ones. The ones in my Lun Hypers latest 1 month!

Patrick, Thank for the review. On the steel spokes. Leaning towards this option since I ride alot of tarmac but rough pot hole roads unfortunately. Do you have any concern about losing spoke tension on the brake side. Seems like the drive side has through connections at the hub. Wanted your thoughts. Also Did they provide any extras in the package, extra Spokes, tubeless valve, etc?
Thanks for watching. Tubeless valves are included and seen in the video. I believe extra spokes can be requested at the time of ordering. No spoke tension loss while braking, and it's great that Farsports thought of this in their hub design.
Handling, I would not say no. But they are more prone to upset the frame over rough pavement. Especially at higher speeds. Simply due to the stiffness.
These are more aero. 58/58mm versus 45/50mm on the No6. And not everyone has the frame clearance to fit the tire requirements of the No6. Both are fantastic wheels.
It's mainly about versatility: Steel spokes, wider internal width, star ratchet hub. You'll be able to use these specific spec'd wheels for road, rough road, and gravel.
All the reviews for these wheels dropped today and they are all super positive. Did farsports review the video you all posted? Did they have any editorial input? It seems odd that everyone loves them and cant stop gushing about them. There seems to be no arms length emotional distance from the products, just fanboy language. Im not calling you out Patrick, ive been a positive commenter on your channel for years now.
I appreciate the support! Who else has dropped videos on these wheels besides GC Performance and myself? Are there more than just us two? I haven't bothered to research. Consider this: At this point I've featured about 30 different wheelsets on this channel. Crazy how time flies. In this video I provided specific reasons why these wheels are excellent and versatile compared to most other wheels. 1. Wide internal width for both road and gravel. 2. Steel spokes for comfort and versatility. And easy to replace. 3. Aerodynamic at 58mm deep. 4. Easy to service (and high regarded) hub. 5. And all of these details in a set of wheels lighter than some of my carbon-spoked wheels even at shallower depths. All the common complaints I hear about Chinese wheels have been addressed in these wheels. And on top of that...FarSports still makes a $1000 version of these wheels.

Steel dampens vibrations better, and flexes more. Basically a more forgiving spoke.
