The Crafts are freakishly lightweight.

Ehhh its not really comparable at all since it's padless. It's really finicky to dial in the bike fit. Since it's a trainer bike, weight really isn't a priority. Best to just get a lower tier Power saddle.

The only difference between the two wheels are steel bearings versus ceramic. Same carbon spokes and rim. If you want ceramic for the small up charge, go with the EXAR Ultra 2023 👍🏾

Financially I understand why Winspace made this decision. Little to no demand for rim brake. But it's still sad haha

@@PatrickLino I understand that, the problem is, even in Asia, I'm a Malaysian, winspace, is still considered "only a China brand" to charge like that compared to when they started out is foolish, they had showed that it was doable at a cheaper price, they are now increasing their price only because they have gotten more well known,especially on youtube. I personally will get a giant if I want a brand with proven track records, if I want cheap China brands now, I'll get elves.

@@PatrickLino don't know bout that, never had a velo build. I have merida, giant, specialized, polygon now I currently have an Elves, honest be told, I'm an amateur at best, are all the named brands better than elves? Hard to say, at least I have zero issues of using it since last year. And for the price of it, I can probably get 3 elves frames for the price of 1 specialized and that in current time is money well spent.

I would be curious to know how brands like Winspace are doing in terms of overall sales since their price increases. Is there steady growth year over year?

​@@PatrickLino Westerners suffer from massive blinders. We aren't the primary bike market. Over 60% of global bike sales sits in Asia. Chinese, especially, are adopting more expensive hobbies like cycling and travel as they have gotten more prosperous. And Chinese brands that attract western consumers catch fire in China. Brands like Winspace are not going to sit as budget grade for poor westerners who can't afford Spec. I think what we're seeing is Winspace transitioning to a mid-to- premium brand that will first cater to a growing domestic market, westerners after. Westerners are going to have trouble accepting that we aren't the most important people to everyone, but that's the reality.

Someone in here said this new SLC3 should be compared more to the Tarmac SL6 than SL8. Visually, I'm starting to agree with this metric.

My guess is 1. Actual consideration to the carbon layup 2. Frame construction consistency despite high production volume 3. They aren't using cheaper more readily available carbon like the budget brands. I'm told the price difference between (real) T1000 and T1100 is exponential. At least for now I guess.

@PatrickLino it would be interesting to know if certain brands might not use the same volumes of the more expensive carbon in their layups. I guess saying it has the more expensive carbon doesn't mean they used the same volume. As you note, once brands like Exceed or Tavelo start to factor in the same costs as the other brands their value benefit starts to deminish.

@@morrisizing I'd also like to know what percentage of the retail price goes to both marketing and R&D. For major Western brands that is. If the Tarmac SL8 frame costs $3500, employees probably getting 30% discount, where does that leave the remaining $2500?

My Emonda in 58 cm is 890 grams, I weighed on 2 different gram scales!!! The bikes are not as light as they say! This guy puts everything on a professional scale. He did a great job 👍

How much was the Emonda back in 2019? I haven't followed Trek in years.

Do you mean that they use 95pc T800 and because the rest is t1000/t1100, they only mention the latter?

@@pierrex3226 Similar, but rather 1 piece of T1000/T1100 and the rest of it is T700 or lower. Just marketing bs, I don't know how western countries react to this, but in eastern, claiming using some T1100 or M40x seem like a very good marketing strategy and people here buy into it HUGELY. So basically any second/third tier Chinese brand that is doing marketing always have these bs.

Canyon is realistically a Chinese direct to consumer bike. No idea why people care about the semantics of them being owned by a European brand
