    The SLC 3.0 frame is not yet listed on Winspace's website. Not exactly sure why the decision for this. My guess is so they can do their usual marketing and press release rollout to the media folks. The frame should be up in a couple of weeks. Geometry will be similar to the outgoing SLC 2.0.

    Patrick, great review, first you helped me when I was building my first T1500(cable routing issues & inexperienced bike builder). Then I was hit by an irate driver, then acquired the 1550 last Nov. Looking at adding SLC3 and retiring current climber 2012 BMC Streetracer. The SLC3 has that traditional classic styling.

    @PatrickLino  3 месяца назад +12

    This new SLC is an excellent alternative for those looking for a traditional looking frameset. While the idea of benchmarking the SLC3 against the Tarmac SL8 is very ambitious, and probably unnecessary, I can understand Winspace's logic. The SL8 is one of the more popular frames on the market today. As a climbing bike this frame is very well refined. Kudos Winspace.

    Great review ! Since you tested both the slc3 and the yoeleo r12, which are both frames i'm looking at, how would you say the two compares ? • @PatrickLino
      @PatrickLino  2 месяца назад +2

      Thanks for watching! While the Yoeleo R12 is an aero bike, the dynamics felt more endurance than race. This isn't a terrible thing if both speed and responsiveness aren't the absolute priorities. Plus it's quite cheaper. The SLC is snappier and you can always use a set of deep aero wheels to regain any aerodynamics loss to its climbing bike design. Personally I prefer the look of the Yoeleo R12. The SLC3 feels more like a modern western bike. If you're in the USA and need a size 56, I have the R12 frame for sale haha.

      This is a fantastic question, one I forgot to address. These wheels are slightly more comfortable because they don't feel as stiff as the Hyper 2. And the wider internal width means lower PSI. Also means acceleration under hard load could be affected too. I absolutely love the Hyper 2 because they offered a better balance of stiff/comfort.

    I have a request. If you were to get your hands on hyper3 d67 would you share the widest rim width. Wanted to see how it stands to 105 rule, winspace never replied me on this.

    • @PatrickLino
      @PatrickLino  3 месяца назад

      28.4 at the widest. Technically a 28c tire that stretches to 30 at the rim means it would fall outside the 105 rule. However, modern testing has shown that the 105 rule doesn't really hold up. YMMV

      @@PatrickLino would you mind directing me to the test you read? wanted to understand better myself, i know winspace tested their wheels at JP aero facility but didn't disclose wheel size used. thanks!😀

      I was 185lbs when I started cycling 4 years ago. Then dropped to 160 by the end of summer, but had no power at all. These days I'm around 170 which feels like the "correct" weight for my fitness and style of riding.
