I enjoyed your video. I have a suggestion for the finishing of the scrunchie. Before sewing the long portion of the fabric turn one end of the fabric up 1/4" and stitch. When you are ready to close the two ends you tuck the unfinished end into the finished edge and complete with the slip stitch/invisible stitch. I have found this makes for a nice finished look .
I prefer to sew the elastic together as you can’t feel the join from the outside of the scrunchie. This can bit a bit complex for a beginning sewer so I included the option the tie the elastics ends together as well.

How on earth do you pull the safety pin through the tube without the round end at the end of the safety pin getting caught up on the fabric I cannot get it through it because of this. It's impossible the end to not get caught up! So frustrating my material is ripped on the end now 😢 maybe my safety pin is wrong 😤
