this was an excellent overview that made me feel perhaps the $150 for the onestock isn't right for me, but I'm glad it exists for people who are better at games than me. I'm already clunkin around enough in VR shooters, I don't need something else to clunk around with in meatspace at the same time. that said, if you can buy a stock to get better aim, does that mean that gun stocks are the VR pay-to-win cheat code 🤔
It's definitely a grey area lol - I'd say it's something closer to the realm of FPS Freeks from KontrolFreek for some enhanced accuracy, and the accuracy just solves shakiness, I still missed because I'm bad plenty of times. ☠
I've been using this gunstock for a fat minute (prolly for like 3 or 4 months now) and I really enjoy it because I can really stabilize my aim and be way more consistent with my accuracy. I mainly like using it in Contractors on a ww1 type loadout, or in H3VR since I found it feels better with heavier type weapons. With smaller guns like smgs iont think its very immersive cause the slowdown with the weight but the immersion is really epic.
I made 2 sockets of tape and strapped them to a stick which fits my controllers. If you don't have that at home you can pay less than a dollar for tape and grab a stick or something straight and go with that, you're welcome!
This is advertised as being able to have the controllers positioned on top or below the rod. I assume haveing them mounted below would greatly increase comfort as your no longer griping with ring and pinky fingers to keep stock from just falling down out of your grip. Instead having the bar above resting on your hands
@ShawnRaz87 It mounts underneath only for the PSVR2 controllers, I believe. Personally I'd actually love it if they sold an accessory to mount every type of controller underneath, but there's of course the issue of the tracking IR system being obstructed by the rod itself, which is why it only works top-mounted at the moment.
i use the virtual stock when i can it works for me but different games virtual stock feel different though which is something to get used to my favorite one is from breachers.
Tip, I’ve had my gunstock for nearly three four years now and I got it almost day one of getting my quest. On that note, vr gun stocks are better when the attachment point are on the top of the controllers instead of the bottom. That makes it a lot more comfortable on the hands not having that bottom piece rubbing on your hand and adds immersion cause the grips on a rifle is from the bottom and having barreling running from the top of the hands. Having the attachment on top and having the gunstock sitting on top of your hands rather then underneath. Gun stocks are great addition to vr and I’ll always recommend but choosing the right one is important so you don’t feel like you wasted your money. Mine is a simple 3d printed gun stock from a small company but I’ve had it for years and it’s been through a lot and had held up with some diy fixes but worth every penny.
Yet again another reason why it's a shame that the ring was taken off the Quest 3, honestly. Would love to try the gunstock with the controllers mounted underneath, but tracking would probably be abhorrent with the LEDs getting blocked. Quest 2 at least had a wider dispersement of LEDs to allow for that. Good news is that at least for the PSVR2 controllers, the Onestock can indeed mount underneath for those.
@@FrontwaysLarry Yes, always buy gunstocks where controllers mount on Top (preferably magnetic). If they mount below, you can run into tracking issues due to the actual gunstock blocking visibility to the controller sensors.
i wonder if you could stick a magnet to the inside of where you put the controller and stick one onto the controller so you dont have to be always holding onto it but can still take it off really easily
I've used many gunstocks over the years. The absolute best gunstock on the market is the MagTube gunstock made by the company ProTube. It's by far the best due to it's adjustability. It has 26 notches of adjustability at it's joints. This means it's easier to get your favorite weapon sighted-in while being as comfortable as possible. Most gunstocks only have around 12 notches of adjustability meaning you'll still have to compensate your aim in-game a little bit and it won't feel as comfortable / natural. I prefer using a 2-point sling over a single-point sling for the added stability / accuracy. WieldVR claims that their OneStock is the best VR gunstock and it's not the worst one on the market, but it's definitely not the best one out there. Plus, half controller cups suck ass. Get a gunstock with actual controller cups with magnets. You'll thank me later.
Did the guns in Vail line up correctly with that stock for you? I use a ProTube and Vail doesn't have gunstock calibration yet, but I tried adjusting the stock and it still felt too far off. Like I guess it's technically playable but it's not great. Wondering if you just didn't mention that or if it worked with that stock. Most of the time, you need to calibrate the guns in the game in order to have them line up with you stock and you didn't bring that up in the video at all. Breachers also doesn't have calibration, only an angle offset, but I was able to get my stock working well in Breachers well enough. That being said, after I did that, I had to then re-calibrate my other games to match the Breachers setup. Anyway, good vids man!
Vail I found it to be a little bit harder to find the right position, for sure. Didn't know about games having calibration for that, actually! Something I'll lok at next time I test out the onestock. That said, I'm left eye dominant and shoot right-handed, so leaning at that angle can be rough sometimes through a scope for the right viewpoint. lol The big issue I've found since testing it a bit more after the video is that I've often foudn myself smacking the gunstock while reloading, and I noticed it more during VAIL, I think. Also thank you!
@@FrontwaysLarry Yeah, you definitely want to check out calibration in settings. Contractors does it pretty well. It will help with your eye dominance and hitting the stock when you reload, as you can position the guns to line up with the stock. It's pretty important.
@@FrontwaysLarry Contractors gunstock calibration is excellent, but I still prefer playing Pavlov VR. Even though Pavlov does not have gunstock calibration, I found it quite easy to get gunstocks adjusted comfortably.

Totally fair, it's not in the price range of a quick lil buy it's more of a decision tier of price, for sure. It does seems like most gunstocks with similar features on the market are around this price, however. It being a niche item unfortunately doesn't lend itself well to having the luxury of a low-price/high quantity sales model though.
Gunstock are worth but every gunstock are heavy it's hard to grab a gun or backpack at your back and lose your ability using a knife and grabing granade, imagine 550g half of kilo of flour in your one hand.
I agree with the whole backpack, knife, and grenades, but my favorite gunstock is pretty lightweight. It's the full carbon fiber MagTube made by ProTube and I use a 2-point sling with it.
You don't need one of these to get good when a pro player can point-shoot with laser accuracy. With that said I think it can help with immersion. Popular VR shooting games, Vail, Contractors Showdown, all have weapon smoothing option that can negate the shakiness. Contractors Showdown literally have aim assist for scope. VR gunstock is preferable to use in modded games like Half-Life where there's not really an option to negate the shaky nature of the controller.
@@jaycrunchfest22 It's the weapon smoothing option, can't be separated. Basically if you turn on weapon smoothing, anytime you use 4x/8x scope, your gun will "pull" to enemy automatically.

150? Theres a million of those generic 3d printed gun stocks on amazon. You could literally just go down to your public library and use the 3d printer to print the plastic, the rest of the parta you can source from any and all hardware stores for 10 to 20 dollars
$150 is definitely in a pricier category, agreed. The niche audience for gunstocks seems to love it, but I'd probably be trepidatious if I hadn't tried one before either, ngl. But hold on a sec... YOUR PUBLIC LIBRARY HAS A 3D PRINTER?! I need to investigate mine now, because that sounds insanely useful. Lol
@@FrontwaysLarry at least the one before I moved had one LOL I bought one a couple years ago but I figured if I ever wanted another I could probably customize it because there are a lot of blueprints on pinterest and stuff like that. Thanks for the video keep up the good work
@MickeyDee420 I definitely wanna get myself a 3D printer at some point to mess around with, but the main issue is where to put the damn thing in my apartment. Lol And thanks, dude!
it is dificult to watch your video. So is it good or not? I wanted to know about gun stock, and not to see all these excerpts from streams with sparkling jokes. It was 15 seconds of actual info for the 10 minutes video
I mean, it's very clear what the point of the video is, my dude. I say a minute in that I'm talking less about the Onestock and more about gunstocks in general, and also have clearly labelled chapters for "First Impressions" and "Final Thoughts". I didn't call this video a "review" for a reason; because it's not. lol Samuel Jones Tech has an in-detail review that I'd recommend for you, and VoodooDE goes in-depth as well. 👍
He provided an answer at the end, and throughout the video, he provided examples and clips for context and how he came to that conclusion. Its okay if the videos arent for you, but saying that the video was bad for having jokes and clips that provide context and jokes that kept it entertaining is just stupid
It’s not a tutorial style video dumba$s it’s informative entertainment 🤦♂️ if u don’t like his video there 100 more to choose from no need to be a d*ck
I personally don't think gunstocks are worth it. Too big and clunky, + i don't want to feel like I have an advantage over other players. Also, Breachers is one of my favorite games, although it sucks with bad upload internet speed. Every other VR game has handled it much better (contractors, contractors showdown, onward, etc.) but breachers instead of having a slight delay between when the shot hits the player and when the shot registers, there are full like 5-15 second intervals of me not being able to hold my guns, place traps or use gadgets, and shots don't register at all. It sucks, but oh well. I just play contractors.
Interesting to hear that feedback on Breachers, honestly! I have a really high upload speed so I wouldn't have ever noticed an issue with that. I can get that mindset on advantage, but I kinda feel like it's not much different than having a high DPI mouse or KontrolFreeks on a controller. I had better aim, but it didn't make me *tactically* any better. Lol
That was my intention, honestly, and part of why I don't call this a review at any point in the video. Me pretending to professionally review a gunstock based solely on one gunstock alone feels disingenuous to me, so I decided to leave the in-depth reviews for those that have experience with them extensively. This was a first impressions video, and WieldVR agreed to the format even before sending out the stock... plus this is just how I like to format my content. Lol
Then go do it, for real. I love DIY projects like that, I totally encourage it my dude. I built a PVC fig rig for my camera 10 years ago and still use it today. The cost of a product is not the cost of materials though, $150 for a niche item makes sense. It's the cost of firstly someone else doing it for you, but also feeding into the viability of the company to actually make a profit. They have to sell a product that lasts, to a subset WITHIN a subset of gamers that even want a gunstock. This isn't a multiple-buy product either. Most sales they make are just gonna be one-time customers, so they can't have any loss-leading products as a result. I would 100% not recommend this to everyone, really only those that wanna save the time of building one.
@@philliesblunt247Appreciate the feedback, but please remember this isn't a review. It isn't labeled as such, and I say in the video as well. It's a video intended for entertainment purposes while simultaneously giving my first impressions.
Good or bad is subjective ya silly lol This isn't a review, just like I said in the video. The points are clearly stated, and the rest of the video is for fun and getting used to the thing. - I have no frame of reference since it's my first gunstock, so this isn't a review. - The gunstock adds stability, but hurts my fingers. - It's immersive but bulky and gets in the way when not in use. - The stock is adjustable on the fly. From there you decide if it's worth it for you to buy. Don't put your entire basis on buying it or not on whether or not I say "it's good" or "it's bad" from someone you clearly don't like anyway. lol
One stock SUCKS, It only works for some games.protube can be adjusted to play ALL GAMES. Dont fall for the one stock rule them all. It's just a sales tactic and most reviews were done because it was free. The front controller can not go up or down so there for most games have to be calibrated

Ah, so the code is an invite code, not a discount code! They're doing an invite-only system for the orders just to limit sales so they can ensure they don't over-promise orders.
Lol
@@FrontwaysLarry at least the one before I moved had one LOL
I bought one a couple years ago but I figured if I ever wanted another I could probably customize it because there are a lot of blueprints on pinterest and stuff like that.
Thanks for the video keep up the good work
@MickeyDee420 I definitely wanna get myself a 3D printer at some point to mess around with, but the main issue is where to put the damn thing in my apartment. Lol
And thanks, dude!
it is dificult to watch your video.
I didn't call this video a "review" for a reason; because it's not. lol
Samuel Jones Tech has an in-detail review that I'd recommend for you, and VoodooDE goes in-depth as well. 👍
He provided an answer at the end, and throughout the video, he provided examples and clips for context and how he came to that conclusion. Its okay if the videos arent for you, but saying that the video was bad for having jokes and clips that provide context and jokes that kept it entertaining is just stupid
then go watch a different video instead of being a crybaby. like it’s really not that hard
@@yungpinecone3842 Look, I'm not the only one. Many people see a problem here.
It’s not a tutorial style video dumba$s it’s informative entertainment 🤦♂️ if u don’t like his video there 100 more to choose from no need to be a d*ck
I'm so sad I got Contractors Showdown and not Contractors with Mods! Contractors Showdown is nothing in comparison to that.
Great vid, you’re better than habbie
Don't go inflating my ego like that lol
We ain't going to war with habie... yet. 🪖
If a gun stock is big and clunky (what it is) you wouldn’t have an advantage then lol
Lol
Full carbon fiber MagTube made by ProTube. Lightweight, not big and clunky, super adjustable, and very comfortable especially with a 2-point sling.
This is 90% game review and 10% stock review
That was my intention, honestly, and part of why I don't call this a review at any point in the video. Me pretending to professionally review a gunstock based solely on one gunstock alone feels disingenuous to me, so I decided to leave the in-depth reviews for those that have experience with them extensively.
This was a first impressions video, and WieldVR agreed to the format even before sending out the stock... plus this is just how I like to format my content. Lol
150 bucks pff whatever i could make this with PVC pipe and refrigerator magnets
…just play onward.
If you don't want to be a loser running around with a virtual gunstock and aim assist on by default than ya, gun stocks are COOL, you fool's!!!
If it cost over $35 count me out.
1. Organize your content and stick to the topic. Remove the irrelevant content. Please
@@philliesblunt247Appreciate the feedback, but please remember this isn't a review. It isn't labeled as such, and I say in the video as well. It's a video intended for entertainment purposes while simultaneously giving my first impressions.
This guynis ridiculous. Is it good or not. I can't stand RUclipsrs like this.
Don't put your entire basis on buying it or not on whether or not I say "it's good" or "it's bad" from someone you clearly don't like anyway. lol
Could somebody make a cheap gunstock already
I literally have $60 to $75 gunstocks that are better than this OneStock.
One stock SUCKS, It only works for some games.protube can be adjusted to play ALL GAMES. Dont fall for the one stock rule them all. It's just a sales tactic and most reviews were done because it was free. The front controller can not go up or down so there for most games have to be calibrated
