Best vid on youtube on the Provolver stuff so far. What VR controllers are they? I notice you can steady your other hand as they're missing the ring most controllers have.
Oh mate, thank you so much for the amazing comment 😁 I'm running the Quest 3 headset so it's the controllers that headset comes with. They have no tracking ring.
I got the 12Joul Forcetube stock. It felt great, but i wanted that same feeling demoed here with that secondary point of feedback closer to your grips. but paying an additional $300 was just too out of budget. Luckily I was able to source my own similar spec'd solelnoid with a jerry rigged weight to add to the center of my gunstock and give what i imaging is a pretty similar feel to your settup. I just ran wiring from my solenoid into the Forcetube solenoid +/- leads so they trigger simultaneously. It is the most satisfying feeling in VR. That with a Bhaptics vest in Onward and Contractors is stimulation overkill and the most fun I've had in VR.
Have you compared the 5j forcetube vs the 12j? Wondering how much of the experience I’d be missing if I ended up getting the 5j because the cost difference is huge!
Unfortunately I have not tried it, perhaps if Protube are watching they can send me one to compare :) Have you seen my other video on running just the Provolver, if you are on the fence about price and what to buy that is worth a watch :)
Can I ask? When you bolted the cup on, did you make use of the original hole that the knuckles clip into? Or did you drill a new hole? And if you used that original hole, you must have had to cut away some of that lip that made the knuckles stay sticking out parallel? I don't wanna Jack this up and I'm about to start drilling stuff.
Yes mate you do, the bolt goes right through. You will need a slightly longer bolt. It will replace both the gunstocks magnet bolt and the knuckles style magnet bolt. The bolt can then thread into the knuckles style strap restraint nut that inserts into the base of the knuckles style holder from the side. Hope that makes sense. That in turn bolts both sections together.Let me know if still stuck.
So I've got this built exactly the same way as you now, and it's a treat in games that call for rifles, especially when paired with the bHaptics Tactsuit. But I'll admit, it's a bummer not having the right hand free when needing it under special circumstances. Can you think of any way of installing a quick release mechanism? The logistics would be pretty rough. I can imagine a few ideas, but it all ends in building a latch that tightens like that which attaches the grip to the ProVolver. And then you'd have to add a similar latch from the pipe to the front extension so that the whole thing didn't fall apart when removing the gun. None of that would be "quick release", so I'm not happy with it, but it's fun imagining some additional hacks to make it fully functional under every circumstance.
Another solution might be building a rail system along the pipe, so the controller would slide onto it, lock into place, and then quickly slide it off using a button that releases it. This can be perfect, if only we join forces!
Yea that's the only downside. I agree 100% that if we could have some sort of quick release that would be perfect. Even a more powerful magnet perhaps?
something to save for some day; I found this really interesting, as I was window shopping for a stock; out of my price range but hey, something of a pipe dream for some day, pun pun pun, thanks m8
Great vid on cool gear, I need a sliding rack variant with a serious arcade cabinet solenoid on full, for satisfaction. I enjoyed a Time Crisis 2 machine (full twin deluxe) until the default Namco pistols broke from over-use and got replaced by boring HAPP jank.
@WhiteRaven___ great questions, there is some minimal support for Standalone games however, that's most certainly a short coming. You can check the list of supported games on the website or Discord.
Or, you could re-use the normal butstock and magnetically attach it with the leftover tube and leave it hanging on a sling when it's just pistol or smg.
I loved this vid super helpful this is like £1000 worth of awesome VR gear , must feel awesome I really want to film some VR vids and start my journey as a young streamer I was wondering if you had any tips on where I can get this kit for cheaper did you get get yours sent to you or did you purchase it I have subscribed I would love another video on the combinations you can make with the 12 joules protube magtube and the provolver
Thanks for the kind words and glad you enjoyed it. I paid for this with my own money, nothing sponsored or given to me. Unfortunately I don't have any cheaper deals however, keep a lookout as the team at Protube do deals at certain times.
Really cool setup, mate! I've got a couple of question: 1) when you changed to your pistol, both of the devices kicked in ou just the provolver? 2) that magnet in your right hand must be really strong to support all of this weight, have you ever experienced it dropping your stock all of a sudden while reloading ou anything like that?
Do you mean when switching weapons the haptics triggered? If so, yea it's sort of a short coming of the haptics. Anything that triggers haptics will trigger the Provolver and shoulder module. It's not a deal breaker though. You don't even notice it after a while. Regarding the controller magnet for my trigger hand, I'm running a mod that bolts them together. I mention that in my bench review. Thanks for watching and the comments 😁
I normally game for a few hours, then plug it in and leave it to charge. It is strange it has such a slow and recommended low charge rate, maybe to make the battery last longer, more charge cycles?
Honestly, that set up can't be great for fast-paced gameplay. I could have gun reloaded, hand back and have you back on target before you could have your controller back on the rig. As far as a shotgun as you mention in beginning. This set up has to be horrible/not usable as well. Any VR game I played your none dom hand sits on the for-end. With out rig you never have to let go of it. you just motion as you have a real one in hand. I get it's for immersion and all, but these things are way overpriced. 340 for a little vibration and no immersion for recoil. They try to make it seem that there is going to be recoil on their site, but a .22 has more recoil than this thing. Didn't even move my hand slightly. As far as quality goes. It's ooook. main issue is the piece the controller sits in. It needs some sanding to be smooth where palm sits. Didn't print well.
Yea there is no doubt that you might very well be quicker, I am not to fused about being an EA Sports level gamer, its is absolutely about the immersion for me. Yea they are not cheap but if, like me, you want to ultimate in VR gunstock haptics then this is is it. I actually love the kick it produces, VR is about small things that trick the brain, my motion simulator in my other videos is a great example. Appreciate the comments though mate as its good for people to have different perspectives :) Thanks for watching.
Can you use just two revolvers? I like to dual wield and I think this would work.
You sure can mate, that would be awesome :)

Yea it is a lot of money for the whole setup with both haptic modules. Oh mate that is epic. Thanks for watching mate and your comments.
What about games where you need to detach both to be able to throw a grenade? What is your remedy for that?
You need to use the primary hand to pull the pin. I will do an upcoming video soon demonstrating this :)

does the haptic modules work standalone as well or just PCVR?

Bang on mate, yea I actually changed the set-up a little while ago to that exact configuration. It works well 😁. Thanks for watching mate.
Great video mate just recently bought a quest 3. That is my next purchase. I definitely detect a AJ accent…
Thanks mate really appreciate the comment. If you have any questions just let me know. Did you mean AU, if so your correct, I'm in Australia 🇦🇺 😊

The ProVolver Module..Battery: 3100mAmpH (5h of use).......Charging: 7 hours, USB-C *lol*? XD
