I went from Hien to Otsu. I like the feel of the Otsu a LOT more than the feel of the Hien. It's super smooth and consistent. The Hien felt rough.

Maybe what they mean by "less turbulance" is that it's not as rough to the touch and doesn't transfer as much feedback to the mouse during glide.

      @@Heisennburgg @Blade
I have had the Hien and Zero Soft, and for me this is better than both of them. It doesn't have the XY diff or the rough texture of the Hien, it's more smooth, like the Zero but has a distinctly more velvety feel. It has speed and not as much resistance to small movement as the Zero, but you don't lose stopping power.
It's kind of the best of everything Artisan has to offer, if I were to recommend paying full price and shipping for any pad of there's it's this one.

I had Artisan Hayate (original one, back when they started out) and it was the fastest cloth pad I've ever seen, very close to plastic Steelpad S&S, but way more comfortable. Unfortunately it was not stitched and my sweaty forearm absolutely destroyed upper layer in several years :D Fortunately my forearm doesn't sweat any more.
Currently I'm using MP511 (should be similar to Hien but using rougher cordura material) and just ordered FX Ninja Hayate Otsu XL xSoft. 89.99$ swoosh! Also Corepads are on the way for G Pro X Superlight. Good to be a grown up and working :DD

I'm currently on a MP511 with a GPX, always wondered if the MP511 is like a "cordura clone" of the hayate otsu since it should be slightly slower than a hien, I find the MP511 a little fast, low initial friction but with pretty decent stopping power, thank you!

I just got the hayate otsu, MID hardness, and it feels very similar to the steelseries dex (ancient pad, i know), with the hayate otsu being slightly more slippery but with the exact same stopping power as the dex, maybe slightly less due to the increased initial speed.
Both pads are still slower overall when compared to the hien however (with a smaller gap in speed between hien and hayate otsu), but the hien also has less stopping power than either of them.
I still prefer using the dex though just because of its tanky durability and ease of washing.. still waiting for it to die so i can completely switch to a newer pad lmao
