The reason I always get Mids is pretty much because I prefer all of the stopping power to come from the surface and my hand. The extra variable of the softness rarely affects me, but feels sort of like a slight tugging at the perimeter of my range of motion. Basically, when my hand is extended I apply more pressure unintentionally and I don't want to worry about that affecting my aim too much. I just wish they would release the Raiden in Soft, that one is a bit too icy in Mid.
I have always been an advocate for XSoft, I own like 8 artisans some of each sponge hardness. And while I know a lot of people do not like XSoft, I really enjoy it for the reasons you explain here. I gotta wonder exactly how hard people are pressing into their pads where XSoft gives them so many problems lol. Good video bro
It's not about pressing down. I like to switch gripstyles around and don't really apply much down force yet Hien XSoft to me is absolute dogcrap if i have to be honest. It doesn't necessarily sink in, just feels awful in practice. I gave it a shot way too many times and couldn't see the appeal the Hien admirers see. Firm surface with soft base just doesn't click with me. Zero feels fantastic on the other hand. You know the saying : different strokes for different folks. It's all personal preference and we're all free to form our own opinions.
I just got this mouse pad for 45 USD :D! It was in perfect condition, mid xl red wine version. A hude upgrade from the venus IMO. This pad is perfect in every way for me :)
I recently switched from a XSOFT Hayate Otsu to a 3XL Venus because I wanted a desk pad and I honestly can’t tell much of a difference. I could easily switch between the both and wouldn’t miss a beat. They’re both amazing pads and love them both
I own a Zero, Hayate & Hein and I personally think LGG Saturn Pro is a better more consistent mousepad. Also own the Venus and have the same opinion compared to Artisan, although I prefer the original Venus. I guess at the end of the day it’s all personal preference
Been using mine for 18 months and it's been a pleasure. Slap some corepads air on your gpx and give it a try. Really lets you feel the texture of the pad and makes flicks feel insane. Maybe it's placebo or just my experience, but I always perform the best on my otsu in Valorant even compared to the zero or GSR.
@@Kihma. The zero is smooth when my skin is clean. If my skin has any amount of sweat or even dried sweat it feels extremely rough and sticky. The otsu just feels textured but extremely comfortable to the skin, almost like it's laying on a pillow (xsoft).
My problem is not being unable to control how much pressure I want to put on the mouse, my problem is how much pressure different switches on different mice require. I love the Aerox 3 shape, but the clicks require more pressure than any other mouse Ive used. Not that much more pressure, but the difference in friction is noticeable even with the exact same mouse feet. And yes, I have tried the exact same feet. Like putting dot skates on it, instead of the Aerox 3 corepads, so that I can put the same dots on a different mouse and compare.
Dot feet are not the best with soft mousepads, those dig in to the soft base quite a lot and make the whole experience horrible! If you want to stick with dot feet, use harder bases!
The Otsu does feel pleasant on the hands, but i missed the static friction in the end. It does have some texture to it, but it doesn't give you the same consistent speed and grip that static friction does. After trying the Otsu out for two weeks, i was back on my trusted Vaxee Pa.

Great video Haus! This is why I'm leaning more towards all the xsoft (or lethal pro) pads. You get a lot more control based on your force into the pad. Right now my top 3 pads are xsoft otsu, xsoft Raiden, and Saturn Pro 👍.

Played some 2042 yesterday, total horror game by the way... but did games with Hien X Soft and Zero Soft.. after that test i came away that faster mousepad is more fun for me..just feel you can swap targets way faster on Hien vs Zero.. gonna try Otsu next.. Also with the Hien i feel that its better to run no long sleeve arm..because the friction from the arm and hand on Hien gives you feedback and stopping power.. Anyway i like your ideas here..pushing down with different forces depending on situation..
My hands are 17.1cm/10.3cm, do u think I would get xm1r or normal g pro wireless? I don't mind wireless or wired but I care more about shape/comfort while aiming, I use palm/claw or hybrid in between, please recommend
Could you give an update (just a reply) on this? Did you ever manage to fully get used to pressing into the mousepad etc? For a game I play you kind of need microadjustments and tons of flicks, so I feel like this might be ideal.
I had used the gigantus v2 for 3 months and it was very slow for me and I also used the razer strider (clon Hien )and it was very fast. Which mousepad would fall between these 2?
the hayate otsu xsoft cured my addiction to buying new mousepads. Near perfect pad with the only downside being how it collects tiny hairs like the zero does
By having to control the pressure you put on the mouse to me at such a scale, is just adding artificial difficulty, when all your focus should be on the game itself. Now some may say that you can get used to this and it becomes an almost automated process at some point, but I really doubt its consistency, specially in tense situations.
It takes time to learn how to control it properly, it's a difficulty to begin with, but being able to control the amount of friction that the pad has is a major benefit. If you use enough time to adjust to it :)
how does the xsoft on the hayate otsu compare in terms plushness of the zero xsoft or the hien xsoft? my first artisan pad was a hien xsoft and i liked the plushness of that, so when i bought a zero i got that in xsoft and i found it to be much more soft compared to the hien and i would basically flatten out the zero without much effort.
Pretty much what Under High described, I'd say it's a bit closer to Zero Xsoft though. Hien Xsoft is barely different to Hien soft, where as with Otsu it is a massive difference
What small mouse would you recommend that isn't very expensive, has a solid shell, doesn't weigh above 65g and is preferably wireless or has a cable u basically can't feel?
