Quick question. When I fly my avata 2 I never connected to the app. I just turn it on and start flying it. So right now I’ve had mine for about 36 days and it shows zero flight record on it. I just looked at the app while watching this and it says starting June 12 about the flight record data so should I be flying the drone connected to the app or just keep flying it as is and will honor my DJI care insurance if I do wreck and I’m not connected to the app? Thanks for making this video. Looking forward to your answer.
If it happened like Representative Stefanik would like it to happen, all DJI products that use any wireless RF frequencies (like even Bluetooth) would have their type acceptance revoked. It's crazy to think that even their Osmo or Ronin Stabilizers would be prohibited. Fortunately, with DJI's announcement they've let all the air out of that balloon.

Even if it passes the House tomorrow, June 12th, it still needs to pass the Senate and the President sign it. Furthermore, you will still be able to fly currently owned DJI drones. The ban on buying DJI drones will be phased in over 4 years with tariffs going up each year.
What’s the deal with DJI U.S.? Did a real quick check about DJI and there’s a DJI that’s listed in California. Let’s try not to get all doom and gloom right away, a company like DJI which realizes that they may be affected by this globally. What should be done is DJI USA should have an oversight committee for what can be done to blanket the security protocols needed to eliminate possible security threats. We shouldn’t have to find out that our equipment gets bricked or something like getting our drones lost due to program and security protocols being implemented. Maybe DJI China has to provide programs to become open source and possibly even being built here instead of overseas.
