I hope that team rocket realises that if they succeed in stealing pikachu, they will have to keep mimikyu away from pikachu. Which may result in a big issue
It probably was female but in black and white the episode "Butterfree and me" showed Ash's butterfree in a flashback with the pink butterfree. And even then it still has no black line like a female would. Not sure if it was an error or not but it's been years since that episode the creators had so much time to fix that and didn't so I don't know really.
Well, that pink Butterfree happened, when Shiny-Pokemon weren't even official in Episode 21. And with the Color Pink usually being associated with girlish stuff, this Pokemon was intentionally meant to be female. Later with Episode 235, the red Gyarados became the very first actual Shiny Pokemon, that even went so far, as getting it in the Games.
Dash Curry Similar thing was with Clair's Dragonite in BW. Iris' and Clair's Dragonites know Iron Tail. But the "steel" effect was very different between them. Iris' Dragonite's tail became iron-like (like every steel move in BW), but the second Dragonite's tail was glowing like in the old series. So the animators wanted somehow add the reference and maybe this is why Butterfree hadn't any markings in the flashback.
Nlg d that's wrong. Brocks dad takes over the family, and most likely, the gym, the family's only source of income. Also, misty has three sisters who run her gym with her, and doesn't accept her anyway.
I was talking with a few friends and one of them mentioned Team Rocket beating Ash in the anime. I literally dropped everything I was doing and looked it up
I saw that too! And if Bonnie and Clement's faces were not such a big indication of that then I don't know what is. That's the first time Ash got kissed by a HUMAN girl (who is the same age) throughout the whole series.
Let's be honest: the saddest moment wasn't when Ash turned to stone. The saddest moment was when he went back to normal. How cruel of the writers to tease us with hope and then take it away from us.
I don't like the coma/pre death hallucination fan theories, because they are somewhat cheap: they can always be true because being a dream all contradictions are naturally explained.
Damn, you are spot on with that #1. Never in my 20+ years of being a Pokémon fan did I ever think team rocket would beat ash without cheating. And yet...it happened. Of course Ash was saved from further humiliation by the bear ex machina, but still
In my opinion the most priceless facial expression that I’ve ever seen is in the XYZ episode where clemont meets that girl, quite frankly, they just look like zombies that have been dragged through a hedge backwards
Misty did return briefly, with an evolved Togepi no less. I don't know why people keep saying she's never seen again. She's made a few guest/cameo appearances.
I don't miss Misty for a minute, I've never liked her character. :p Also, what about Team Rocket sacrificing themselves since they were slowing Lugia down in the second movie?
Don't forget all the episodes where May's Eevee was in battle. It was rather ferocious and lionlike, nothing like its cute cuddly self. Hoenn has basically ruined Eevee, since you can't usually get it in the Hoenn games, and why no Eeveelutions were introduced in Gen 3. Maybe since seeing May's Eevee battle so ferociously against Brock's Marshtomp, and Harley's Wigglytuff and Cacturne, many Hoenn inhabitants began living in fear of Eevees and its evolutions, leading to the original wild Hoenn Eevee population being wiped out in fear of anyone getting killed by one. And its evolutions got driven to extinction in Hoenn as well, and they never let any Eevee/Eeveelution owning trainers visit Hoenn. So Serena's Sylveon is in for a bad time, since Serena just went to Hoenn to compete in contests.
I still cry to this day when I watch the first pokemon movie. It is the first time I witnessed Ash actually die, though there were other times when he SHOULD have, but didn't. In fact, I don't know anybody who doesn't cry during that scene. You'd have to be completely heartless to be unaffected by this scene.
GUYS OMG I FIGURED OUT WHO THAT PINK BUTTERFREE WAS A ditto 😢 poor butterfree EXPLANATION DITTO IS PINK AND THAT BUTTERFREE IS PINK? AND IT'S NOT EVEN FEMALE
I think the situation with meowth ending up drowning after seeing mimikyu was that mimikyu's true form may have grabbed him or may have spooked him into tripping and falling into the water. Or meowth may have jumped in to try and grab him but ended up fainting in the water out of fear from the pokemon's true form. Edit: i also loved when team rocket were good for once!
I've never seen the first movie, but I CRIED AT THE CLIP YOU SHOWED. Maybe it was the pent-up emotions I felt after remembering "Bye-Bye, Butterfree?" I _did_ feel my nose sting a little bit...
I have the reason why Swellow went OP. Swellow's ability is Guts which... *Boosts the attack stat if the Pokemon has a status condition.* The move Pikachu used was Thunder and... *Thunder deals damage and has a 30% chance of paralyzing the target.* Since Swellow took a powerful attack from Thunder, it paralyzed Swellow, but since it was a direct hit, it was even more Powerful. So, Swellow (Thanks to Guts.) absorbed the power and since Pikachu is an electric type, he also got the power. Its a fun little thing that makes since if you know how Guts works. Have a nice day/night!
I think the Swellow/Pika scene is a poor take on trying to show the Guts ability on Swellow (because I always thought them turning Gold meant they were paralyzed since Gen 3 Electric Types could be paralyzed) idk
Actually Ash's Butterfree makes a cameo later on in the series in the form of an opening. "Spurt" was an opening for advanced generations and we can clearly see Pink Butterfree and Ash's Butterfree (With the scarf) flying past the gang as the fall.
I thought that stoutland dying in the Sun and Moon anime was really shocking. I remember seeing somewhere that it was the first time a Pokemon died in the anime and it made me cry.
Here's my favorite, shocking moments by region... Swellow going super sayian was meant to depict the ability Guts, where his power rises when under a certain amount of HP. It was done very poorly though.
The episode where they're in the sinking ship and then the pokemon wake up in an island (1st season), i was like 7 and thought ashe died. I'll never forget those 2 episodes.
with the number three entry, I agree. Team Rocket did do something good for a chance. Hey, even meowth did something by using fury swipes on the tyranitar!
The first movie is the only one I saw in theaters. I was probably 7 or 8 at the time, since I can't recall when that was exactly. But even then, I thought it was stupid how Ash was brought back by magical tears.
I have a Banned episode about the origins of Jessie and James in Team Rocket...How they met Meowth, how they were paired up, more on their rivalry with Butch and Cassidy etc.
12:09 This is explained in the Japanese version of the movie. Part of the cut out prologue with baby Mewtwo and why he hates humanity. It's explained that pokemon tears have magic healing powers.
Reason why ash was revived by the tears is because the nurse said "this guy died while going to the island, but the pokemons tears revived" and they wanted to relate to that with ash
In the one about mewtwo strikes back ash was revived because earlier in the movie they said the Pokemon tears could heal things so that's what saved ash.
I was trying to go to sleep when my tv was on and this episode"bye bye butterfry" was on and I heard the end and since I've already seen this I knew what was happening and just started crying now I say it is the saddest episode ever made
Anyone notice how Team Rocket had a prime opportunity to steal all those Ekans and Koffin for new Rocket recruits and could've actually got praise from Giovanni. But they didn't, meaning Team Rocket were the true Good guys!
QOTD: What is the most shocking moment you've seen in the Pokemon anime? Let me know! :)
Twintendo You missed the part when Serena kissed Ash on the lips. ( XYZ final episode- "Till we compete again") 😉🙂
Twintendo
My favourite shocking moments in the anime was when Cyrus betrayed all his team members.
Twintendo Ash winning a Pokémon league
Twintendo stoutlands death
Alex Woodwind YES
Hate to break it to you, but with moment 5, the pink butterfree didn't have the mark because in Gen 1, there was no gender differences
...I suspected it was an error.
Yeah there was no differences in gen 1 and everyone says it's wierd that 2 male loved each other but even if they were male it's ok to be gay
In any way, it's pink but the shiny one is not pink, so two mistakes in the same pokemon, why not ?
Owen Appleton oh dear god, imagine those legs
TrollGameuse THE BUTERFREE CAME FROM THE PINK ISLAND!!!!!!
I hope that team rocket realises that if they succeed in stealing pikachu, they will have to keep mimikyu away from pikachu.
Which may result in a big issue
HuskyGirl 74 Mimikyu is my absolute favorite!
HuskyGirl 74 or just give pikachu to giovanni and take mimikyu on a endless vacation far, far away to keep it from getting to pika
Raining cats and dogs true
Didn't think of that
I think its hilarious that team rocket are even still allowed to go after Pikachu, plus I hate Jessie with a passion. Ic ant stand her.
Robbie Beenham
20 years and ash just became 11 in sun and moon...
Well Hey, at least Hes Aging.
He's a wizard now.
Bruh
T.D.K. & Knuckles 20 years = 1 age
SuperBro Z ASH IS IMMORTAL.
8:42 this episode aired before gender differences were a thing
I have that profile picture for my lock screen!
That is true
David is right
I doubt the Pink Butterfree was male. The Bye Bye Butterfree episode aired way before Gen 4 introduced gender differences.
Not entirely true, the first shiny pokemon we see is the Noctowl Ash catches, not the red Gyarados Lance catches. Otherwise, correct.
SoulSilver12 Thank you. I was looking for this comment.
so the first ever pokemon dying in the sun and moon anime isnt shocking...stoutland died for your sins
PsychicLugia ikr
when?
that's just what i was thinking, how on earth did he forget about stoutland dying for litten, i must of sobbed like a freakin baby :(
PsychicLugia episode 21 I think
He probably made this before he saw that episode
I KNOW WHY MISTEY IS GONE!
she owns a fucking gym
ikr.
Kitty cat Baby learn how to spell
Kitty cat Baby so does brock
Kitty cat Baby lmao her and brock just abbandonned their gyms...;-)
Nlg d that's wrong. Brocks dad takes over the family, and most likely, the gym, the family's only source of income. Also, misty has three sisters who run her gym with her, and doesn't accept her anyway.
"love is love"
Even whens its between two gay butterflies.
Beautiful speech. xD lol 😂
ITS GEN 1
I see a roblox profile ENTER UR PASS FIR FREEE ROUX
#1 should have been Pikachu's Goodbye, that was SHOCKING alright ;)
YourFriedBread Wow.....
Yeah, that was the first of the Pokémon Emotional Rollercoaster. The same thing happened in the game Hey You! Pikachu!
YourFriedBread ENOUGH OF THE PUNS!

Oh hello Brendan... didn't expect to find you here 😅

stoutland dying
wacky salamence46
*cri*
Iroh's son died better
wacky salamence46 in what episode?
TotoWorld 2016 Pokémon Sun and Moon, Episode 21
You in an alternate universe I only watched the anime for that one episode.
ash's swellow evolved from tailow when it was hit by thunder during a tournament so it makes sense that it would go all explosive and stuff.
You forgot ep.346~ when ashes snorlax uses more than 4 moves, he uses 5 or 6. This was by far the most shocking moment in the anime
I was talking with a few friends and one of them mentioned Team Rocket beating Ash in the anime. I literally dropped everything I was doing and looked it up
What how??????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????!!!!!!!
what about when Serena kissed ash in the lips
Carter Hopkins omg yes!! i almost forgot about it!!
Carter Hopkins but... That was Latias...
I saw that too! And if Bonnie and Clement's faces were not such a big indication of that then I don't know what is. That's the first time Ash got kissed by a HUMAN girl (who is the same age) throughout the whole series.
some people thought it was cringey, like me
actually ash is in his 20's and serena is only 10 #SexOffender #BoyCottPokemon
Gender did not exist in gen 1 and gender differences until gen 4
Andrew Amygdalos gen 2 ** There were subtle differences between female and male sprites as early as the original silver, gold, and crystal games.
Not really.
Nidoran???
SoHBetaSword they're completely different pokemon
Andrew Amygdalos hi
"Evil Ash"
Doesn't reference Army of Darkness.
effing zoomers, man.
"fans still hope to see Misty again one day"
Enter the sun and moon anime lol
you forgot a very shocking moment in the episode "Pikachu's Goodbye." The title says it all.
Now that thunder has hit swelow HAS TRANCENDED INTO SUPER SAYAN
5:58 I remember watching this episode as a kid and getting super freaked out!
Who would cry from the mewtwo movie everyone know that some miracle will come out of nowhere and revive him like always
Let's be honest: the saddest moment wasn't when Ash turned to stone.
The saddest moment was when he went back to normal.
How cruel of the writers to tease us with hope and then take it away from us.
lol
good
Leonardo Rossi Maybe he would of awoken from is coma and actually be older then 10 lmao😂
I don't like the coma/pre death hallucination fan theories, because they are somewhat cheap: they can always be true because being a dream all contradictions are naturally explained.
Leonardo Rossi HA LOL if only if it were true lol
Gender difference were not introduced until gen 2.
Spencer Holden it was gen 4
Mr. E I know
Genders started in Gen 2, but Gen 4 started differences in actual sprites.
I am scared of Meowth (from team Rockets) ...Its face tho just PURPLE. OH GOD. WHY?!
IIMagicCandy maybe because it was alolan
What about when Serena kissed Ash?
Damn, you are spot on with that #1. Never in my 20+ years of being a Pokémon fan did I ever think team rocket would beat ash without cheating. And yet...it happened. Of course Ash was saved from further humiliation by the bear ex machina, but still
Nice video man! Keep up the great work!
+Stephen Universe Thanks buddy! :)
I Didn't Cry On "Bye Bye, Butterfree!" When They Depart. I Only Cried In The Trip Down Memory Lane.
I Loved the Super Saiyan Pikachu and Swellow Moment
I see mimikyu went skinny dipping 😏
#SwellowAndPikachuLookedLikeBreaks
In my opinion the most priceless facial expression that I’ve ever seen is in the XYZ episode where clemont meets that girl, quite frankly, they just look like zombies that have been dragged through a hedge backwards
12:11 actually, in the begging of the movie, a young girl tells Mewtwo that a Pokémon's tears can do wonders.
Ahhhhh!!! Oh sweet arceus what just happened TwT
Edit: logic TwT also the memory of Pokémon
"well if you chose B. unfortunately you are correct."
-twintendo 2017
I knew what you were talking about for number 7, so I cracked up laughing when you showed the yugioh clip
We don't talk about Bye Bye Butterfree....that episode made me cry the first time I watched it
+Aimzyrulez We'll never forget Butterfree 😭
dude do you know what is happening with the English dubs for sun and moon?
just the gap between episodes 1 & 2 leading to 3 & 4 is massive I assumed some controversy had come up and they were changing it.
I felt like crying in the first movie when meowth and evil meowth stopped fighting. that was one of my favourite parts!
The Pokemon tears helping ash get to health actually made sense in the poke-verse as revives are made from tears of pokemon
for number 9 pikatchu and swallow become break pokemon
roge pikatchu no they became the
ABSOLUTE BULLSHIT WAY TO GET ARMOUR
I've never cried for a book, movie, show, etc. .......Is that bad? I mean, I get sad and upset and stuff but I just don't cry.
same
although i felt really down when i rewatched pokemon dp's last episode. bw was so bad
If you want to bawl your eyes out at a show I recommend the anime "orange". Might not be your cup of tea though.
"Ladys and gentlemen, please welcome evil Ash." His commentary is making me laugh A LOT for some reason.
Misty did return briefly, with an evolved Togepi no less. I don't know why people keep saying she's never seen again. She's made a few guest/cameo appearances.
I don't miss Misty for a minute, I've never liked her character. :p
Also, what about Team Rocket sacrificing themselves since they were slowing Lugia down in the second movie?
Beth Di Bartolomeo mists one of my fave characters
Stitchedheart17 may had no personality
The only good ones are dawn and misty
The Mewtwo strikes back one gets me every time, I started crying just by seeing Pikachu cry ;-;
And its evolutions got driven to extinction in Hoenn as well, and they never let any Eevee/Eeveelution owning trainers visit Hoenn. So Serena's Sylveon is in for a bad time, since Serena just went to Hoenn to compete in contests.
I did not cry
I still cry to this day when I watch the first pokemon movie. It is the first time I witnessed Ash actually die, though there were other times when he SHOULD have, but didn't. In fact, I don't know anybody who doesn't cry during that scene. You'd have to be completely heartless to be unaffected by this scene.
I cried so much when celebi 'died'
GUYS OMG I FIGURED OUT WHO THAT PINK BUTTERFREE WAS
A ditto 😢 poor butterfree
EXPLANATION DITTO IS PINK AND THAT BUTTERFREE IS PINK? AND IT'S NOT EVEN FEMALE
If it would be a Ditto, then it would have tiny eyes, and a long smile.
it was a butterfree that came from pinkan island
Skat cat Awwwww
I disagree
DITTO
Mimikyu is da bomb
I personally like the Sun and Moon anime... A lot better than the rest of it... And I'm not so sure it is, "Obviously just for kids."
Jared Gillenwater I like and watched all of it I like it all
Jared Gillenwater i dont get it..
Bree Garcia You don't get what?
Seeing as I watched those 'crying' episodes a few months ago, I didn't cry
I have the reason why Swellow went OP.
Swellow's ability is Guts which...
*Boosts the attack stat if the Pokemon has a status condition.*
The move Pikachu used was Thunder and...
*Thunder deals damage and has a 30% chance of paralyzing the target.*
Since Swellow took a powerful attack from Thunder, it paralyzed Swellow, but since it was a direct hit, it was even more Powerful.
#3. Cried a lot. I find Team Rocket's Pokemon-releasing scenes more tear-jerking than when Ash's team does it.
12:24 I didn't cry at this scene, BUT I did cry when mew, mewtwo, and it's clones fly away
The first time I watched the "Bye, Bye Butterfree" episode I didn't even care, I simply just do not like Butterfree.
😲😲😲😲
Trespassing Turtle it was the first one
I didnt cry when Ash "died" but I did when Charizard's head got stuck in the vacation short before the movie lol.
Ok in the one where Arbok and Weezing are released, that was the first time I cried and now I love Arbok. I love his so much!
Actually Ash's Butterfree makes a cameo later on in the series in the form of an opening. "Spurt" was an opening for advanced generations and we can clearly see Pink Butterfree and Ash's Butterfree (With the scarf) flying past the gang as the fall.
When I saw the Bye bye butterfree episode I LITERALly CRIED LIKE A BABY! And not to mention the episode when he wanted to let go of pikachu...
Btw I cried more in the movie than the anime....
I thought that stoutland dying in the Sun and Moon anime was really shocking. I remember seeing somewhere that it was the first time a Pokemon died in the anime and it made me cry.

9:29 It is quite ironic that this episode was banned, especially since Team Rocket threw bombs at The Squirtle Squad.
I'm guessing you didn't see the ending of The Legend of Dratini because... by god it's heartfelt.
I already saw the:,,MewTwo Strikes Back" Scene... I cried again...
10:13 cry every time.
No, I actually teared up.
Is it normal to feel nostalgic pain in my chest everytime i see the Ash turned to stone scene?
I watched the first movie when i was 5 years old i cried so hard like the pokemon series was over now i'm fine seeing it again xD
with the number three entry, I agree. Team Rocket did do something good for a chance. Hey, even meowth did something by using fury swipes on the tyranitar!
Am I the only one who though Swellow looked like Garuda after absorbing the thunder attack? That is truly a shiny Pokémon. 😊
God I remember watching episode 7 when I was younger and it was one of my fave hoenn episodes😳
I don't know how to cry when it comes to movies/cartoons
Number nine actually makes sense if you look a 2016 cards there are a select few that resemble the "thunder armor" called break through
i remember that weird episode on how team rockets pokemon evolved that shit made me cry from the memories
Well the fans dream came true to see them again in sun and moon
the abra and the psychic showdown got me to think of the episode the ghost at maiden's peak that one was creepy at first. until we saw it was ghastly
misty and brock have recently returned to the anime for a special, and they were both in pokemon chronicles(where the pichu bros make their debut)
12:09
This is explained in the Japanese version of the movie. Part of the cut out prologue with baby Mewtwo and why he hates humanity. It's explained that pokemon tears have magic healing powers.
2:40 when swailow takes mario's super star
There’s an episode in Black & White when an evil team hypnotizes Pikachu and Pikachu basically was a millimeter close to killing Ash.
i DIED when weezing and arbok left the first time i watched it
You neglected the only episode with confirmed character deaths. When J and her crew are brutally slain.
Reason why ash was revived by the tears is because the nurse said "this guy died while going to the island, but the pokemons tears revived" and they wanted to relate to that with ash
I think I remember that weird thunder armor thing with Pikachu and Swellow.
In the one about mewtwo strikes back ash was revived because earlier in the movie they said the Pokemon tears could heal things so that's what saved ash.
There's also that episode in the Sinnoh region where Ash, Brock and Dawn are at a camp and Ash nearly got sucked into the spirit world
