- Have you ever wondered if the Pokémon Elite Four are more than just top-tier Elite Four Pokémon trainers? In this intriguing Pokémon video, I dive deep into the theory that the Pokémon Elite Four might actually be the governing body of the Pokémon world. We'll explore the roles and influence these elite Pokémon trainers have, analyze evidence from the Pokémon games and anime, and consider the broader implications of this idea. Are they simply Pokémon champions, or do they hold political power as well? Join me on this journey as we uncover the hidden Pokémon connections and secrets of the Pokémon world. Don't miss this thought-provoking discussion on the true power dynamics behind the Elite Four!

In kanto there's the police that investigate team rocket in the start of the game but theyre all gone by the time you leave vermillion
It's funny how the police seem to vanish after being in New Bark town too lol. Maybe they figured the player would handle the situation AND Team Rocket better than they could! It's one of those quirky things that make the game memorable fr
Here's my theory: Not too long ago, the Pokémon world was ruled by a monarchy. Back then, they didn't have any Pokéballs and training Pokémon took way longer and was prohibited by the state for normal citisens, since the Monarchy wanted to use Pokémon to keep their own power.
Then the Pokéballs where invented (or reinvented after the technology got lost for quite a while) and not normal citisens could catch an train Pokémon more easily, and hide that they where doing it.
This culminated in the war Lt. Surge fought in. It was actually a civil war to break free from the Monarch, which the Pokémon League won. This probably just happened, like, ten our fifteen years before Red and Blue, thats why the Pokémon League Government is still not that well organized. It makes sense that nobody was able to stop Team Rocket, since their Leader was part of the Government. I presume Gym Leaders are something like Sheriffs.
The very thing the League is built upon is eachs individual right to own and train Pokémon. Thats why Pokémon health Care is free. And Trainers are not just supported for their own sake, they are supposed to fill in for the understaffed Police force, using the power they gain for good.
Oh, and the old Monarchy? That used to sit in Unova, their Heir is N and Team Plasma actually tried to reinstate their rule.
Why does this all fit so well together lol. You even found a way to tie in lt.surge militaristic background, w comment
Does that mean that... all monarchs could talk to Pokémon? Through a secret technique anyone could learn? Or as a special power granted to them by a legendary Pokémon that thinks they should be the rulers?
And are Pokémon Rangers, patrolling regions where there are no Pokéballs, the servants of an oppressive regime?
@@Echiewel Not necessarily all monarchs. There's many fantasy stories where the Royal family used to have an inherent ability that got lost over the generations, until someone was born who had this ability again.
Maybe the whole thing was just Propaganda and N wasn't even related to the Royal Family, lol.
About Rangers: Maybe, I don't know much about those games. But maybe they just think that Pokéballs are unnatural or whatever and don't want to use them unrelated to what they think of the monarchy.
pokemon has terrible world building, like i get that their economy is not the main focus but it would be nice to have a glimpse of how their economy functions even if its just a tiny detail. but i do like the concept brought by gen 8 that the pokemon league is akin to a sports league and the trainers are some sort of athletes (?) at least with that info we can probably assume that the pokemon league is not the ruling government.
fr tho! It would be fascinating to see more about how the Pokémon world's economy works. I agree, Gen 8's concept of the Pokémon League being like a sports league is pretty cool and gives us some insight into the world. It definitely suggests that the League isn't the ruling government, which opens up a lot of interesting possibilities
Pokemon never really explored how things are run, at least in the present (cause we have plenty of examples of regions that used to have kings and such) and of course because the children are there to catch wacky little creatures, not vote in an election. And I don't mean just the players, I mean the in game 10 years old protagonist that we play as.
Therefore I tried to fill this fallacy by imagining in the world of Pokemon things are very decentralised with mayors being entrusted with most of the work.
In the case of Alola I imagine it's some sort of hierocracy (irl, a government formed by priests) under the Kahunas who are basically priests to their respective Tapu, while in other regions I don't really know, but like I said, the 10 years old we play as probably doesn't even know what a president is so why should the player know who the head of state in each region is.
Now that I think of it, what even is a Pokemon region? Is it meant as an administrative unit within a country, like idk Catalonia in Spain? Or is it meant in a geographical way?
Anyway, to explain why no government gets involved with the evil theme awakening and elder deity to reset the universe, the best I can think of is either it all happens so fast the government can't come up with a response before the local toddler saves the day, or it all happens away from the public eye so the only people aware are those directly involved (like idk, team rocket somehow managed to sneak into silph co without the police being alerted)
Idek know what a region is now that i think about it, they're not described as countries, and theres def no one that oversees the whole thing lol. And your explanation for why the government doesn't get involved with the evil teams is spot on-either everything happens too quickly or it's kept under wraps. w comment
I feel like the elite four and champion would have more of an advisory and or enforcement role. Handling hearts and minds as well as assisting law enforcement when something stronger than them come along. That's just how i think it should go. Not backed up by anything. Also, it's confirmed that Unova is based off of New York.
I can totally see the Elite Four and Champion stepping in as advisors and enforcers, especially when things get tough. It makes sense they'd play a big role in maintaining order and helping out law enforcement. And yep, Unova being based on New York is a cool detail that adds to the world-building. I couldnt remember if it was America or just new york, thanks for lmk!
I remember Orre in Pokemon Colosseum and XD Gale of Darkness had two different mayors of Phenac City as well, though I think that was the only reference to any government in those games. And only one of those two mayors were of any plot significance (if you know, you know - I don't want to post spoilers in case any of your viewers haven't played the Gamecube games).
Good looking out lmaoo! we need more people like you hiding the spoilers fr. And Colosseum and XD had some of the most unique representation of the Pokémon world. I wonder why the spinoffs were so different from the anime and games...
In the anime the elite four are just 4 really strong trainers, you dont even have to beat them to be champion. Of course each pokemon media is its own universe. Whatever happens in the anime is canon to the anime, not the games, not the TCG not the manga etc
I hope you pop off bro
Thanks Brodie ‼️ imma going for it fasho‼️
Also chairman rose is probably the closest we have to a current government...also about pokemon war there are 2 wars we know of...one is the ly surge war and the other was the "kalos"and "other" conflict which ended with the firing of the ultimate weapon....wich was so strong it caused a timeline split and made the one who fired it AZ and his flowette immortal.
There have Bbeen MANY kings mentioned they are all just like .....3000 years old.....
Lance is HIM
He DEFINITELY is Him!!
love that this man had the idea in one video and made it come to life
