I was just wondering how long it must have taken you to actually get these scenarios. It doesn't go without massive appreciation! These video guides are golden and seeing something like this on paper just isn't the same at all. Thanks for your commitment, energy and time! Game changing way on avoiding a crash! You're awesome Jimbo! Hats off
Hi Carlos it does take while sometimes I get lucky. I wish I had a better example of a truck blocking your view when turning right but it never happened when I was filming. Thanks for your appreciation. Feel free to ask any questions. :)
Hi Jimbo, thanks a lot for all of your videos. I've watched all the videos and tried to follow your instructions. Today, I passed my driving test at the Bankstown Center on the first go. Your videos really helped me to overcome the exam without any instructor.
your videos are sooooo informative. it's good cause you actually show different scenarios and I get to see the actual situation just like a simulation! thanks for helping me learn how to drive and be more confident!
Same here, i also passed my test last week here in Melbourne, I watched all of Jimbo's videos before going for VicRoads exam amd passed in 1st go with 0 error. all thanks to Jimbo. I still watch all of his videos. He is really outstanding as an instructor.
@@swipa658 the driving examiner I had was really nice, and so were the two girls who check everyone in at the front door, the parking for the test centre is on the right so when you exit be careful to look at left rear blind spot for cars exiting from the Westfield carpark,
I find turning at non-arrow intersections (both left and right turns, especially right turn) is the scariest and most dangerous part whilst practicing my driving. Almost had a crash today while making a right turn at a set of lights. I was the second the car in line waiting for the red circle to go green. When the light went green, the car in front of me turned right, I did my head checks then followed him/her without noticing oncoming traffic (how silly is that!!!!). There was a car approaching the intersection after exisiting the car park from Westfield (which I had no idea that he/she was approaching the traffic lights as there is a slope from the car park to the intersection). I was half way through the intersection then that car suddenly appeared - super close to my car! I thought I was dead at that moment, luckily that car driver was nice enough to stop and let me complete my turn, phew!!! I am still alive - my goodness!!! That’s why I went straight to RUclips after I came home. Luckily I found your wonderful videos, thank you so much, will pay more attention next time at those intersections! Now I remember your advice, don’t turn unless I have a clear vision of oncoming traffic, no clear vision, no turn!!! Thank you!!!!
Thank you so much for making these informative videos! I passed today at Rockdale. Did everything perfectly and in the last few minutes of the test encountered yellow/red light while waiting for my turn to turn right. Proceeded to turn right on red as I was already waiting at the middle of the intersection. The examiner later told me that he was about to ask me to make the turn, and had he done that, I would get a fail. I am so glad I watched this very video!
Congratulations Barristerbryan on passing today at Rockdale. Yes so glad you completed the turn before the examiner told you to. Thanks for watching and have a Happy New Year 🎉🎉🎉
Hi Jimbo! Passed my Full-License Test today! Your videos helped and Ive learned lot of nuances to achieve the Pass! Thanks once again for your time and effort! Hats off!

Hi Jimbo , thank you for Video, I watched all your video and driving lesson with driving instructor. I just passed the first go today at Miranda, thank you so much 😊 😊
Hi Jimbo. I passed my test first go! Thank you for your vids and comments, they really helped me cement everything I learned and read about driving. Best of luck with your amazing channel!
Wow Jimbo. Such a great video. I have my license but being new on the road it was great to see all these scenarios. I had an issue when I was crossing the road and a vehicle turned and then apologised. Instead of getting upset at the driver I actually started fearing what if I commit a mistake (of only looking at oncoming traffic and not noticing pedestrians where I am turning due to blockouts). Good to get nerves settle by looking at these.
Hi RMG so glad my videos are still helping you. Yes it's important to be aware of pedestrians at all intersections. Your other post re left turns is not accessible due to something youtube has done but to answer it here when turning left make sure it's green but still look out for pedestrians and other cars that may be running the red.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 sorry I deleted that comment as I saw your awesome part2 video on left turns later and it answered all. I do have a silly question. On T interestection, only need to worry about pedestrians when green right? (No oncoming 😀)
This is the best video on RUclips clarifying all scenarios of turning right at traffic lights without an arrow in Australia. Can you confirm all of these rules are the same in QLD? Thanks
Hey Jimbo thanks to your helpful advice I passed my test on Monday I wanna say thank u and to your helpful videos and for creating a more better understanding of the roads
Can you still wait in the middle if the traffic lights have red light cameras fitted in. My dad said in some cases you should not wait in the middle because if your waiting in the middle and it goes yellow red and you turn but the red light camera activates and you get fined?
Hi Daniel the red light camera only goes off if you cross the first line when red. As you have already crossed it, the camera won't go off even if you are still there til red. The camera takes 2 pics and both will show where you were when it goes red.
Hi Jimbo, I got my Provisional license almost two weeks ago now, but I'm still having trouble doing simple parks, embarrassingly. Also, I was never run through how to do 45 degree parks? Could you cover the different kinds of parking - as a general skill not necessarily as a test preparation - in a future video? That would be super helpful.
Hi Jimbo, I have been watching and learning from your videos. In current video, I have a doubt about Right turn at yellow light plus oncoming traffic, around at 6.34 onward time. My query is why such a complex, accident prone intersections/lights were designed? Could'nt they made a Right-Green only cycle? Kindly solve this puzzle for me. And yes, needless to say, you are best instructor. Looking at youd manners and style, I think that you used to be a teacher or professor, very thourough and well prepared lessons.
Hi Sanjeev yes this scenario is more complicated that just getting a green arrow. But it exists so follow my directions in the video. Be careful. Thanks for watching 🙂
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 I have my test tomorrow! I really hope to make it in first go, to convert my international license. Wish me luck :) Your videos have been life-saving!
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 Thanks so much, Jimbo. Really appreciate it. I have a few questions from the driver test manual. Wondering how I can ask you? Should I just post them here? They require for me to show you the illustrations I'm referring to, so maybe I share the link and page numbers with my question?
Hi Jimbo, thought I'd let you know - just finished my test. Passed in first go!!! Thanks A TON for your incredible videos. I played them on loop last night.
Hey Jimbo I have been driving 2 years alone and now I have trying get my Australian licence. I'm usually very confused about that if you can cross when is yellow to red. I usually waiting longer to cross because I'm afraid if it's safe or will receive a fine. My husband always discuss with me but now I know that I can go even in my test. 😄 thanks very much
Hi Jimbo! Your videos are extra helpful, thank you! Although I do have one question relating to turn right when the car on the other side of the intersection is turning right as well. If I can clearly see what is behind the car because it’s small/low can I still proceed the right turn or would that be considered dangerous?
Hello sir, Your videos really guided me… I learned many new things from your videos. Thank you for posting and encouraging us. I had a question and would appreciate if you could confirm. I had my driving test today at the Richmond service. I was following every signal and giving priority to people crossing. I was asked to take a left, I am aware I have the priority, but the examiner asked me to drive when the pedestrian was still crossing. I did say that someone’s crossing he said it green … after the pedestrian reached the pavement I took the left turn . For this the failed me. I just wanted to know did I do the right thing ?
Hi Joanna I answered your email but I'll answer here for the viewers. If the pedestrian is walking toward you then you will have to wait til they are clear. If they are walking away from you and the lane you wish to turn into is clear then you go. If you wait unnecessarily then you are holding up traffic and the F7 fail is issued.
Hi, your videos are really helpful. I have my test soon in Newcastle, and watching all your videos. You need to monetise your videos and get ads on them as it will give you an incentive to keep making videos. Your videos are really simple and I hope you keep making them.
Thanks for sharing your experience with amazing information. You have made my mind crystal clear. Video is so understandable. Sincerely thanks for sharing your experience with free of cost. Appreciate Tenzin👍☺️
Hi Jimbo, the part about completing the turn on red allowed me to pass the test at Roselands RMS today. Definitely a skill required to pass there & I made sure I let the examiner know what I intended to do at that intersection. I have a question: What should you do if the car directly behind you wishes to change lane in the same direction and time that you do?
Hi Pill congratulations Pill on passing today at Roselands. It's so glad to read that you polished the skill on completing the turn on the yellow/red and it paid off. In regard to someone behind wanting to change lanes the same time as you assuming both you and them have signals on it really gets down to who goes first. If they look like they are waiting for you then go first. If you want them to go first then turn off your signal.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 Thank you for replying. Normally what happens is that I turn on the signal then the guy behind turns on the signal and immediately goes as soon as I go. If this happens during a driving test what's the best course of action to take?
Hi Jimbo, How long do I have to hold my Learners license before being able to apply for my Ps test? I heard somewhere that it needed to be a minimum of 12 months.
Hi Nabil yes you must have have held it 12months. I have heard of cases whereby because of say work reasons you can apply to sit your test earlier. Contact Service NSW if you want to pursue that.
Hi Jimbo, I will have my test in 3weeks time. Currently I am watching your videos and they're really helpful for me. When driving in multi-lane road, I'm confused about which permissible lanes when exiting (turn left, right and go straight). Can you make an videos about it?
Hi Nguyet thank you for your suggestion. I've got that on the list. However please email me at thedrivingtestguynsw@outlook.com.au if I haven't got it out before your test and I can give you some info to help you out.
It’s so annoying the amount of people who won’t go out into the middle and wait when there is no red arrow, they sit behind the line, then either take off from the amber, totally illegal, or sit there and wait for another round of lights 😡😡
Hello Jimbo , thank you for the video. It was super helpful. Just curious if it is logical to stay back from the middle of the intersection when turning right? When turning right at a busy crossroads, there are many incoming vehicles, and on top of that, there is an elderly man slowly crossing the road to the right. And now the traffic signal is red, my car would be standing in the middle of the road waiting for that elderly pedestrian to finish crossing the road. Now this will take some time as the car will be in the middle of the road for a while. Will the other car wait for me to finish the turn even if they have green? Or should I have waited further behind so that I wouldn't be blocking other cars approaching from my right and left if I didn't get the chance. Or is there a right way to handle this scenario ? Should i position my car again once the traffic light goes red , instead of facing front should i slowly start turning right in this scenario ? In summary, i wanted to know, Is it safe to complete the turn presuming that the other car will let you pass first in the event that we need to remain in the middle of the road for a while even after the traffic light has turned red for few seconds or more? Thank you very much.
Hello Bijay let me give you this scenario, you are planning to turn right and there is no green arrow. You are scared to move in and wait behind the line. It is so busy that the light goes yellow then red. You are still behind the line. The light goes green again and no arrow, it is busy and the light goes yellow and red again. You are still behind the line. This process continues for the next hour and the traffic is 10km long behind you. So what do you think is the best solution here ?
Thank you, Jimbo. It makes sense. Yes if I do that, I will be waiting behind the line forever. I get what you're saying. I sincerely appreciate it. Keep up the good work. Thank you very much.
Hey Jimbo, great video. I just had a question. If you only had a green circle light, no arrows and you want to turn right but there is oncoming traffic. Should you wait behind the line or creep ur front wheels past the line. I have heard that if you have creep your wheels past the line, and the light turns red and you still haven’t turned, it’s a fail? I see in this video you creep into the intersection and by the time the oncoming traffic is clear, you have a red light but now you have to turn anyway since you are in the intersection. Wouldn’t it cause a fail? Is it not better to stay behind the lines until oncoming traffic is clear? Cheers
Hi Parth in your example if you stay behind the line and it is busy and the light keeps going yellow/red while you are behind the line , how do you propose we make the turn ?
Hey jimbo, I have two questions that I hope you could help me in. 1. Are you allowed to creep up when turning right at an intersection with traffic lights 2. Do you have to indicate out on single lane roundabouts? Ps. I love your videos
Hi Celdric. Thanks for the questions. (1) Yes as shown in this vid. (2) Re single lane roundabouts , the examiners don't mark single lane ones. I recommend you do though so you make it habit and don't forget the dual ones that will be marked.
Hi Jimbo, Could you please explain through the video where intersection with traffic lights with (ooo) lights (Red Arrow, Yellow, Green) signal. How to make decision when turning right? Thank you.

@@RMG0785 Yes just pedestrians and any cars running red.
Jimbo you legend, thanks for helping me pass first go 100% today at Engadine test center
Great work Bayley !!! Stay safe :)
I passed at first go. Just thought I say thank you. 😊 my centre was Wallsend NSW. Thank you. 😊
Congratulations Clement on passing 1STGO at Wallend!!! Great work 👌 Thanks for watching and always stay safe 😃
Hi Mehrazul great work passing!!!! Stay safe :)
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 thank u so much
hi Jimbo, i passed first go thanks to ur videos! so grateful, thank u so much!
Great news Sharon !!! Stay safe :)
I think this is the most helpful info I even got regarding siganls though I have a paid coach
Glad I could help you out 🙂
Jimbo appreciate your videos I passed my test first go at Gregory hills🙏
Congratulations Frosty on passing 1STGO at Gregory Hills!!!! Great work. Thanks for watching and always stay safe 😃
The camera takes 2 pics and both will show where you were when it goes red.
great video, thanks
Hi Jimbo, I got my Provisional license almost two weeks ago now, but I'm still having trouble doing simple parks, embarrassingly. Also, I was never run through how to do 45 degree parks? Could you cover the different kinds of parking - as a general skill not necessarily as a test preparation - in a future video? That would be super helpful.
Yes they are on my list Daniel. Thanks for watching :)
Hey Jimbo, congratulations on your first 1K subscribers, your videos are amazing.
Thanks Niki :)
Hi Jimbo thanks for you videos they helped me pass my Ps test first go at castle Hill
Congratulations Ashil on passing 1STGO at Castle Hill!!! Great work 👍 Thanks for watching and always stay safe 😃
Congratulations on 1k, Jimbo! How very well deserved!! Thanks for yet another great video.

😄 thanks very much
Hi Ariele glad I could help. Feel free to ask any questions.
Thanks to you I passed first go thanks alot!!
Congratulations mate on passing 1STGO!!! Great work 👍 Thanks for watching and always stay safe 🙂
Hi Jimbo! Your videos are extra helpful, thank you! Although I do have one question relating to turn right when the car on the other side of the intersection is turning right as well. If I can clearly see what is behind the car because it’s small/low can I still proceed the right turn or would that be considered dangerous?
Hi Karolina yes you can turn in front of the other car as long as you can see its safe for you behind that car. Be careful with that situation.
just got a 100% cheers for the videos
Thanks Dighi :)
Great learning tutorials with real life scenarios
Thanks for watching Cokestudio :)
Hello sir,
Your videos really guided me… I learned many new things from your videos.
👍
Very informative! Thanks a lot for sharing this! I’m having my test this month, helps a lot 👍! 😀
Glad i could help Marie ! Thanks for watching :)
Hi, your videos are really helpful. I have my test soon in Newcastle, and watching all your videos. You need to monetise your videos and get ads on them as it will give you an incentive to keep making videos. Your videos are really simple and I hope you keep making them.
Hi Foorooq monetised YT is a pain for viewers. I don't think you make much money anyway unless you have millions of views.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 Maybe you could have a patron or a PayPal donation link in your description. Your videos are super helpful!

Thanks for the vid 🙏🏼
Thanks for sharing your experience with amazing information. You have made my mind crystal clear. Video is so understandable. Sincerely thanks for sharing your experience with free of cost. Appreciate Tenzin👍☺️
Thanks Tenzin :)
From the video, we can see that although there is a green light, the driver still has to wait and push in, until the break of oncoming traffic.
So helpful! Thank you so much!
Make a video how to change the lane . Its always bit difficult for learner to change the lane.
No worries Nishan I'll add it to the list :)
Congrats on 1000 subscribers! You should take look at DGN driving school style videos.
Thanks Ra Pi yes I've seen that DGN guy from the UK. He is pretty cool.
thank you so much for doing these videos sir!
No worries 🙂
Great helpful videos!
Looking to book my exam soon at Gregory Hills, Any tips or tricky section around their exam routes over there? Thanks
Hi Jimbo, thanks a lot for making so much efforts in creating these videos... :-).
No worries Madiraju glad I can help you out.

@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 is this same for someone above age of 25 as well?
@@rahusphere If you are 25 or over you don't need to do the 12 months or the logbook. Just the HPT.
Hi jimbo, can you please do a video on turning into the right/ left lane lane . thank you.
Hi Patty yes I have this on the list !!! Thanks for the suggestion :)
Passed first go in Caboolture, QLD. Thanks for the tips :)
Great work Brendan !!! Stay safe :)
Wow i dont know how people passed before jimbo was around
Hi Jimbo, I will have my test in 3weeks time. Currently I am watching your videos and they're really helpful for me. When driving in multi-lane road, I'm confused about which permissible lanes when exiting (turn left, right and go straight). Can you make an videos about it?
Hi Nguyet thank you for your suggestion. I've got that on the list. However please email me at thedrivingtestguynsw@outlook.com.au if I haven't got it out before your test and I can give you some info to help you out.
It’s so annoying the amount of people who won’t go out into the middle and wait when there is no red arrow, they sit behind the line, then either take off from the amber, totally illegal, or sit there and wait for another round of lights 😡😡
i have my fourth test tomorrow because i keep failing of nerves ... hopefully tomorrow will be my day!!
Best of luck Merina !!!!
1. Are you allowed to creep up when turning right at an intersection with traffic lights
Thank you.
Hello Susan this video is devoted to turning right at traffic lights. Which part are you not sure about ?
amazing thanks so much
