Thanks for sharing your knowledge here, You are doing great. I have one question , what is the correct way to stop at stop sign when there's no stop line ?
Hi Muhammad thank you for your question. When there is a stop sign and no line you can use the kerb of the road you are crossing as a guide to where you should stop. They normally paint the line extending to the kerb on the left
Hey Jimbo.. guess what… I passed my red Ps DT today on the 1st Go. I would not have passed if it were not for your videos. Great job with making the videos and I have also subscribed to your channel. Awesome video! Is there a video on T intersection (with no traffic lights but a stop sign) where you are turning right into a busy highway with 3-4 lanes? Would be helpful to know when to do gap selection in the right most lane you turn into. Do we wait for a both the right and left lane to be clear if there are 3-4 lanes?
I would love to see a video on lane positioning and how to know if you are correctly positioned, sometimes it can be hard with different vehicles of different sizes and various lane widths. Many thanks!
Excellent content Jimbo. This may not be the right forum however for a dad with a son desperate for his own transport to get to work etc to raise concern about the the 120 hours experience requirement. Being away from home for his uni and work, he's found it really difficult to find mates willing or legally able to sit next to him and is still way off getting enough hours. From what I gather, many of his mates were in a similar boat and just wrote hours in their book that they hadn’t done. For my son, he had to go and buy a motorbike - or remain unemployed for the summer. After just a two day course, he's permitted on the roads with a bike that can break the speed limit without even thinking about it, let alone expose himself to far greater hazards on a bike than he would in a car. To my knowledge, no other country in the world has this rule. IMO it's unrealistic, tempts people to break the law by writing in more hours than they’re doing and forces some to get on a motorbike which the stats tell us is far more dangerous. Doesn’t make sense to me.
Hi Paul yes the requirements to get a licence are very slack here. In NSW anyone with a full licence can sign off the logbook. The examiner spends 30seconds checking the authenticity of the logbook. All this falls at the feet of the NSW politicians. Exactly where in the world and what industry does this poor level of certification happen? Even the safer driver course is a joke. Most students ask me about the "20 hour course". Because the primary motivation and any assocation to it is based on getting 20logbook hours for $140. Our taxes subsidise the other $250. I've never actually had one student who did the safer driver course actually continue to drive in the manner it prescribes. However this is the framework that Transport for NSW has created. TfNSW keep promoting it as this great thing they are doing and even my association continues to lick the arse of TfNSW for these "initiatives" and the select few training providers continue to get rich at tax payers expense. In the meantime I'll keep producing content to help people gain their licence. I've been touched by some of the comments where some people haven't had the confidence to even get lessons but watching my videos they have stepped up and got their licence. That keeps me going. Take care Paul, hope your son gets his hours up. Stay safe :)
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 appreciate the prompt response Jimbo. Best of luck with the channel. The concise, clear content will go a long way to helping a great many new drivers I'm sure (and provide a few reminders for us oldies too).
Hi Ra pi. There are a few things you can do. Firstly you have done the first one, you are aware of this. Second you can use edge and centre lines as reference points if you are on a road that has them. Get your supervising driver to let you know when you are positioned correctly and familiarise where you are in relation to those lines. The other thing you can do is get your supervising driver to continually prompt you when you start to drift. Hopefully eventually they will start to prompt you less. Try those things and see how you go and let me know.
Might be worth noting rule difference between T-intersection and crossroad at unsigned intersections: turning right at a T-junction (you must give way) vs turning right at a crossroad (you have priority). This is potentially dangerous as plain crossroads are rare, and due to the T-intersection rules, drivers get used to not giving way to drivers turning in from their right. So if at a crossroad turning right, although legally you have priority over traffic on your left, be cautious when exercising your right to proceed?
Hi Alan yes I try to make clear that there are rules for the T intersection, rules for the Cross St on priority and rules for the Cross St when on the sign. So a driver has to be fluent in all 3. Love the Lorikeet as your avatar. I have a pet Lorikeet.
Thank so much for your videos. I passed the test at Richmond service NSW. One suggestion please rename you video titles such that it come easily in search and hopefully you will get more views. You definitely deserve more.
Hi Jimbo. Thank you for these very helpful videos. I have a question about the black car at 2.48 minutes. Since you're turning left, and he sees your left signal, can he not take the right turn?
Hey Jimbo, i absolutely love your videos, thank you so much!! I have a question , actually two ...1. Who gives way on a crossroad intersection when all 4 streets have give way or stop signs? And 2. Who has the right of way when there are no signs or markings at all on any of the 4 streets of the intersection? I find it very confusing....so please guide🙏
With this you give way to the right and oncoming. Yes that gets confusing when there a multiple people there. Often common sense prevails. That's why they are rare.
Always great videos. The route that I took had a keep clear sign right next to the light. But I was turning right. The line was unbroken next to the keep clear sign. Do I have to stop and give way. Or is it okay to turn the right turn with caution?
Hi jimboo how are u doing i would like to say thanks to you becuase your video's just help me alot before my test and today i had my test in silverwater date 2.12 2020 and i just got it at first go thanks again mr jomboo
Hi jumbo! Cheers for all your vids. Awesome job. Unfortunately, i failed my driving test due to f6 item. I failed it on left turn allowed with care. When i did my shoulder check and wanted to merge the officer had to hit break. I noticed the car coming was bit far and thought could make it.
Hi Jimbo! Your videos are awesome and super helpful! :) I have a question - say I'm driving through the priority lane in a T-intersection, and am intending to go straight ahead. A car jumps out (like it did in your video here (2:50) without giving me way (despite me having the right of way), and I apply the brakes. Would this be a negative point during the test? Likewise, at roundabouts and other turnings where we do head-checks to check the blind spots, just in case I did notice someone jumping past and applied the brakes, would that be a negative point in the test?
Hi Ambika thank you for your great question. You won't get a negative point if you react by braking to these hazards. Instead you should get a positive point for the reaction. Unless you slam the brake on dangerously and it wasnt warranted.
Thank you for the video! It’s so informative. Now I figure out the difference between STOP and GIVE WAY. I have one question regarding pedestrians crossing in the roundabout. Do I have to stop and give way to them? Maybe because I drove slow in the roundabout and the pedestrian started crossing. I stopped as I was scared, but the supervisor told me to never stop in the roundabout. I think he is right, but at the same time, I do not want to hit them. Do you have any strategies for roundabout?
Hi Manabu thank you for watching. Re Roundabouts and pedestrian. Even though you should give way to pedestrians at intersections (including Roundabouts) it becomes a bit impractical to stop in the roundabout because that will create an accident so I advise just be cautious and keep going. However if a pedestrian does walk out in front of you then you will have to avoid running them over some how. Hopefully no one hits you up the back.
Hi Jimbo, thanks for your video which is so helpful. An intersection in narellan town centre is very confusing. Once you come from Somerset St turning to camden Valley way. There has 2 broken lines on ground. It's so confusing and making you turn into wrong lane. What's the other lane for? Thanks
Hi Up yes that intersection really sux. Can I assume you are referring to turning right from somerset into Camden Valley Way? In Somerset Ave both lanes can turn right. So the broken divider lines try to keep both lanes separated. However the right lane from somerset can also go into the right turn lane on Camden Valley way (so you can turn right onto Narellan Rd). And that right turn off Camden Valley Way onto Narellan Rd is a triple turning lane. The whole intersection sux. It gets queued up all the time and makes every one angry. Not much I can do about it.
Thanks for the video. Just one question: when you push in to see better at the give way T intersection due to the blocking parked cars what if a car from the left comes would you have to reverse back to your road?
Hi BrowaOnFleek usually you move in to a point where you don't block anyone and just stay there until safe. If you have moved too far and actually blocking cars on the left and right then that will be a fail F15. Reversing won't fix that. If it is a severe block out situation and you are forced to go pretty deep as long as the other cars can get past you will be ok. If it's that bad and you are turning right tell the examiner it's too dangerous and turn left instead.
Is the information in your videos pretty similar to that of a QLD test? I'm going for mine in a week and these videos have definitely helped me be more confident.
Just amazing professional and smart content! Very well done! Wish you and your future plans the best, mate! Please consider activating that Applaud feature for your tutorial videos.

@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 Unfortunately I didn't pass today. The examiner didn't seem to like me (most probably because I was following him around yesterday). But it means I get to keep watching your videos to improve :)) I got 3 F4s :( turning left illegally (too square or sharp I'm not sure the examiner didn't explain even when I asked), staying in the middle in a no lane road when there are no parked cars (it was a small street), and the third strike was when he had to tell me to move to the left (which should be an F6?). Everything else I did perfect thanks to you :)) Hopefully I'll get my success story in next time.
Going for my test in two days. I was nervous, but after binge watching your videos I'm rather excited and filled with more confidence than ever! Wish me luck
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 hey Jimbo. Just did my test and passed 1st go thanks to your videos. Thank you so much. Keep it up, youre helping so many people. Absolute legend
Hello Jimbo. Thank you so much for making such useful videos available. By the way, I have a hearing problem, so when turning right at the T intersection, I take a little extra time because I won't be able to hear the approaching vehicle. I also move a little closer to the centre of the road, not exactly to the centre, but close enough that I can see no other vehicles approaching, but I'm afraid I'll block the road for other vehicles approaching from my right. So far, I've been driving fine; I've driven over 40 hours and haven't had any incidents, but I always feel like I'm too close to the centre and will block another vehicle. Isn't it a fail item as soon as the other vehicle hits the brakes? Can i do anything to improve my skills here ? May be i have to trust myself first.
Hello Bijay thank you for watching. Yes if you block someone's path then you get F15. Even though hearing other cars is an assistance it's really a visual thing to see if it's safe. So I would just recommend working with your supervising driver to get positioned just far enough to see but not block anyone. After a while you will get a good balance of moving in enough to see with out blocking.
Thanks Jimbo, Can I ask regards the pedestrains at the t intersection, if they are stopped and wiating to cross do I give way to them and wait or do i make sure they dont jump on front of me and go? Regards🌷
Hi batchaaus. Very good question. What I do is to slow and hang back a bit and see if they cross, if they don't then just go. If they start to cross then give way to them. It's very situational.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 Thank you for replying that fast, your videos relly helped me i watch them as soon as you publish, and now I am watching them again. my test is soon. I have another one: When doing the parallel reverse park you have 5 manouvres, Can you please tell me what is a manoure, is it drive and reverse , or just whenever you stop the car to check around and continue? insructors have been telling different things. Thank you
@@batchaaus You actually have 6 moves max. The first move is when you reverse. The second move is when you change direction. That means you take it out of reverse and put it into Drive or 1st and begin to move forward. So simply stopping and resuming is still the same move. Moves 1 to 4 score no error. Moves 5 and 6 score minor error. You cannot exceed 6.
Encountered this during the intersection - im exiting to the left and the car next to me going to right. Can i exit while car next to me exiting on the same time? The intersection is wide enough to fit two cars. Car next to me would block any incoming traffic when he is exiting to the right. But then i wont be seeing anything at the intersection because my view is blocked by it.

Hi Muhammad thank you for your question. When there is a stop sign and no line you can use the kerb of the road you are crossing as a guide to where you should stop. They normally paint the line extending to the kerb on the left
Thank you
Bless your heart for putting together all these videos 😊
Thank you so much for your videos Jimbo!! Your videos helped me a lot. Very helpful videos. I passed my test in Blacktown 1st go. 🙏
Hi Corinna congratulations on passing 1STGO at Blacktown!!! Thanks for watching and stay safe :)
Hey Jimbo.. guess what… I passed my red Ps DT today on the 1st Go. I would not have passed if it were not for your videos. Great job with making the videos and I have also subscribed to your channel. But the sad part is I won’t have to watch your videos anymore lol but will definitely make sure to refer to my friends!!! Thanks again. You are a true aussie legend.😊😊😊😊😊
Congratulations SG on passing 1STGO!!! Great work 👍 Thanks for watching and always stay safe 🙂
Thanks so much for your videos! They helped my partner with his confidence and pass first go at warners bay! Fantastic work x
No worries glad I could help :)
Hi Glamadonna yes i will add lane position to the list. Thanks for watching :)
Hi jimbo, your videos are easy to understand regarding rules , please upload more stuff ,
Waiting ....
Yes I've been a bit slack. I bought a new Hero 10 so looking forward to using it for more videos.
Thanks for making video on this topic, it's very nicely explained.
Thank you so much. I was confused about this now I'm clear. Thanks again
Hi Jimbo, thanks for your videos. Any tips on lane discipline, I frequently drift towards left side on a multi lane and have trouble with this. 🙏
Thank you so much, next time when it have a stop sign , I will stop 1 meter before reach the white line.
Yes your front bumper within 1 meter of the line.

Thank you for your informative videos man! It helped me a lot to pass the driving test
Hi yabiocharileee congratulations on passing!!! Thanks for watching :)
biggest help. Thankyou so much, passed first go !!!!!!
Congratulations Remi on passing 1STGO!!! Great work 👌 Thanks for watching and always stay safe 😃
Always great videos.
The route that I took had a keep clear sign right next to the light. But I was turning right. The line was unbroken next to the keep clear sign. Do I have to stop and give way. Or is it okay to turn the right turn with caution?
Thank you so much, I passed first try at Engadine.

11:33 what if the pedestrians are just standing on one side waiting to cross? Do you tell them to go or just go since they’re aren’t moving?

Hi jumbo! Cheers for all your vids. Awesome job. Unfortunately, i failed my driving test due to f6 item. I failed it on left turn allowed with care. When i did my shoulder check and wanted to merge the officer had to hit break. I noticed the car coming was bit far and thought could make it.

Sorry mate to hear you got the F6. Better luck next time 🤞
I could still proceed if its a safe distance gap right
@@bimalchhantyal If the gap was safe then yes you go.
Thanks for your reply and videos! I will definately do it on my next go!
Hi Jimbo! Your videos are awesome and super helpful! :)
I have a question - say I'm driving through the priority lane in a T-intersection, and am intending to go straight ahead.
Hopefully no one hits you up the back.
whats doin jimbo passed my first time at silverwater by watchin ur stuff
Great work Patrick!!! Congratulations on passing 1STGO at Silverwater. Stay safe :)
@LIL -WHALE howd it go?
@LIL -WHALE thanks mate!
Hi jimbo ,Please also make video on merging and merging with traffic in multiple lanes and like that
Hi AB that's exactly what I am working on. I have filmed a fair bit of it. Just need a bit more hopefully will be out on the weekend.
I rarely turn right off somerset set usually go through the Narellan Town centre car park or use richardson Rd lights.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 Thanks Jimbo. Looking forward your next video.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 Wow Thanks
Is the information in your videos pretty similar to that of a QLD test? I'm going for mine in a week and these videos have definitely helped me be more confident.
Hi Jack I don't know the exact details of the QLD test but others have said they were helpful with the QLD test.

Thank you :)
Passed Botany 1st try, thanks legend
Hi Toxiiclord congratulations on passing 1STGO at Botany!!! Stay safe :)
Thanks Jimbo,
Can I ask regards the pedestrains at the t intersection, if they are stopped and wiating to cross do I give way to them and wait or do i make sure they dont jump on front of me and go?
I have another one:
When doing the parallel reverse park you have 5 manouvres, Can you please tell me what is a manoure, is it drive and reverse , or just whenever you stop the car to check around and continue? insructors have been telling different things.
Thank you
@@batchaaus You actually have 6 moves max.
@@thedrivingtestguynsw8424 You are the best 👍
Hi Jimbo, can you please do a vid for U-turns? Thanks
Hi Hansi I certainly will. Great suggestion :)
THANK YOU JIMBO....GOOD LESSON
What happens when there is STOP sign but there is no line? Where / When do you stop?
Encountered this during the intersection - im exiting to the left and the car next to me going to right. Can i exit while car next to me exiting on the same time? The intersection is wide enough to fit two cars. Car next to me would block any incoming traffic when he is exiting to the right. But then i wont be seeing anything at the intersection because my view is blocked by it.
Love the movie..am about to pass my licence
