the blade and hilt are quite good! but the grip is uh, misunderstood, the triangles are supposed to be the result of the braid going around it, it's not a swirling pattern with diamonds glued onto it

      Hi VualDaZart
Yes, You have true, this is not perfect. We can add more and more details into the sword, to looks more realistic. On this channel we try make mostly beginner tutorials, and if that more comlex, then not much user will enjoy. We can make a sword under a hour but we can make under 3 month :D

@@tannos2023 Fair enough, though as someone who has made swords aswell with this amazing software, you can accomplish the imbedded triangle look simply if you use an array modifier on the triangles, and a boolean modifier on the hilt for the triangles, hope this helps, and I hope your videos continue to help people
      Have a good one 👋

the whole grip pattern should be handled in shading for such low poly models, if you duplicate the wave texture you used in the video, flip it and mix them together, you will get the classic diamond shape pattern where the straps don't cover the handle material. a way to enhance even more those straps is using a bump node that adds some (apparent) depth to the diamonds and some (apparent again) thickness to the straps

      I do nothing special.
      - Put one light source into scene, lift up a bit on Z axis. Set as sun and incrase a bit the streng to 3. If You select the sun an press the rotate (R twice ---- R+R) you can catch the good setup of the sun reflection light settings on the metalic material
      - Set some property in render : bloom, reflection, AO
      - Set the metal materials metalis and roug value

I have a problem at 11:56, when it scales it is glitchy. I think it's a problem with my cut modifier, because the settings you used in the video didn't work exactly the same as mine. The circles are treated as if they were a separate object, not a joined object, which makes it somehow strangely disjointed for me. Is there any way to fix it or merge? idk I'm beginner 😅

    • @tannos2023

      Hi Nokxixr
If your model parts broken, a bit hard to repair. Need merge the broken vertexes (M - merge - at center).
At he moment I dont have good idea for this.
If someone have a good solution please help us :)
Maybe in edit mode if You select the full model (A - select all) and try use clean up, this will joint the closest parts of the model
Edit mode - Mesh/Clean Up/Merge by Distance Here You can adjust the distance, but carefull a big distance value destroy your model

Before go to edit mode (and you scale and move object) press CTRL+A and chose Alppy all transform.
Many case its important, other case in edit mode the object have distorsion.
In Edit mode press dot (.) on alphabetin keyboard not on numeric padand chose invidual origins from contex menu.
Select the side of cylinder around : ALT+LMB (LeftMouseButton) try aim the side of the face where you want orient the selection.
If cylinder full side is selected, press ALT+E from popup manu chose ExtrudeFacesAlongNormals. This will make a new circle around the object.
Another way if You select the top and bottom of the cylinder (SHIFT+LMB). If both side selected press I (insert face)
This make similar effect in this case like extrude faces along normals, just the object will not grow.

Hi Nessou, sorry I not understand exactly.
If You dont have numpad you can rebind keys under preferences.
Numeric pad keys use for camere view. Many times better and faster editing from a preferred view. Example move the length of object from side view. This view help to dont move the object or object part to wrong direction. You can use other tricks, but many times its faster.
Or numpad dot (,) focusing the editor to the selected object, so this will the rotation center point. Very usefull.

      Hello Meli1240
When You press rotate (R) choose axis (x, y or z) then simply write the rotation angle (90, -90 or whatever you need). In this video I press R+Z+90
Have a nice day and happy creation 🤗

      Hello Méli,
You're very welcome, yes this trick (rotation, scale with numbers) works on the normal keyboards too, not only in numeric pad. CTRL is a great idea, I always forgot this trick, thanks so much your advice.
Have a nice day and happy creation 😊

bro it isnt working for me,when i try doing the part where its like cutting the holes into the grip it takes out the grip instead of the pillars

    • @tannos2023
      @tannos2023  2 месяца назад

      Hi Goldenesports9559
Before start boolean cut, add "apply all transform CTRL+A" to grip and cutter pillars object.
      - The cutter pillars must be cross trought the grip. Need to be longer as the hight of th grip.
      - First select the grip, and add the boolean modifier for this object. Then pick up the cutter pillars here, and use the "difference" option with "extract" settings.
If everthing is fine, its need to work.
Have a nice day and happy creation
