@@mattjwatson5089 Can't exactly agree with this. With a bit of EQ, you will get all the cymbals in the snare mic, but the toms will be lost completely. So i'd advise to either do a 1 BD Mic - 1 OH Mic confic rather than BD and Snare
@@mattjwatson5089 I I know that is why I said I should not placed the snare mic at the snare but as an overhead, capturing all other instruments.
This also makes for a total of two microphones, but the toms will be captured better.
@@mattjwatson5089 I'm actually 20. I get it, no mic no play. But there are passages in some songs where roms are essential and cannot be replaced by any other instrument. So i'd rather have 1 OH than just one snare mic. You can still EQ
BUT, i am thankful for every conversation i get with people with more experience than me. I'mjust starting out, even though i have been informing mydelf about that for 5 years.

Thank You for the tour. Now I will have a clue when I want to put together a studio for myself, not to mention how the hell I get 12 TB + of memory to record stuff. You are so nice to take the time to mention all of the software, hardware & gizmos and yes my dad always saved all of the boxes and manuals! We effin' love you Sam, you take the trouble to be helpful! BTW, you know those big plate glass windows at radio stations with a gigantic control board, etc - that is what I always picture you streaming from, lol.

Sam I just moved, was also one of those bahees that saved all my boxes for cool gadgets... Sorted through em for useful stuff then threw em out, not gonna lie it was best decision I made for the new place! SOOOO much extra room! Love your setup.

I know for many people pearl isn't the first pedal option for double pedals always, but their pedals have both beaters around the center of the kick, so both beaters produce the exact same sound

I had a Pearl Session Select way back with Evans G2 coated heads and that was the best sounding set I ever had
