I'm guessing some of you have never checked out his DVDs. He's a genius at what he does. And he's a great teacher.
Agreed.
MAB is a great teacher, and Speed Kills has definitely taught a lot of people to shred.
yea man! One of the greatest shredders
I love his guitar!! XD
Hell is a real place, and I'm sure that this guys albums play 24/7 there.
Cool guitar dvd
Thanks guitar world magazine
Great video Michael!
is amazing how he plays the guitar
Don't be jealous man.... he is good player... don't say shit some words... show us the speed like him in your guitar, then judge others. Yet,speed is not everything, but we have to also learn the speed techniques, if you want to be a successful guitarist. Anyway, he is man of some talents. Don't blame/ judge/ or hate him..... Bcs, think urself by placing yourself to MAB. So, our work is to appreciate, not to dominate or give a shit. Rather than scrub urself in ur own ugly face.. Evryone is good.
Most of you negative trolls have never heard his record from the band Holland on Atlantic Records. Great songs, great playing, everyone written by Michael with the vocalist. Most of you have never heard his solo records either. If you did, your comments wouldn't be so stupid and uninformed. Talking smack doesn't change anything. MAB is a phenomenal player and great songwriter. Also, Guthrie Govan is playing on MAB's new record. Eat that one trolls.
He's improved his vibrato! Also, why does he sound so nervous? He's fucking amazing, he doesn't need to be nervous.
@23RuiCarlos23 The last song he plays is "Time Traveler", there is a music video for it that dmarks1 posted on youtube.
@marczaq it's a part from 'no bounderies' in the song starting at 2.50
@StormBlitzM37AL it's basiclly SAROD-PICKING.
this style of picking was invented in india on the instrument "sarod"
however it was brought to our culture trough john mcloughlin (i'm not sure if it's spelled correct). The reason this sort of picking is used, is because it doesn't afford as much mation of your and it also protects your joints.
a great teacher on this tequnice is pebber brown. you'll find him hear on youtube. awsome teacher!!
"In this video I'm going to teach you how to string together millions of notes a second to produce a completely soulless wall of sound. Also, I'm a robot."
@MrPetethebluesman
its one of his proprietary inventions that spawned out of that double guitar of his. when hes playing with all 19 of his hands and 5 brains, that thing falls down over the strings so any strings that hes NOT tapping or playing are silent for cleaner note passages.
@AraGuitar point well taken
Private studio tour is like 5 years old! come on!
get satch to make a learn to shred dvd. he's the only one who does it right
@StormBlitzM37AL thats because he is really left handed but had to learn on a right handed guitar. At least that what he said in some older tutorials from the 90s or 80s.Weird thing being is that its actually very effective.
@WalrusDoom
"Oh look. A guitar player's video. Mmmmh i've nevere heard of this 'Michael Angelo' before. Let's watch the video. Hey, he's got more technique than me. SO HE'S SOULLESS! Let's write a comment so EVERYONE here can see how frustrated I am."
Sorry, but wrong on all counts. MAB is amazing. His latest DVD is spot on and his latest record has fantastic playing on it. So much for your aging theories. MAB has a degree in music. Govan does not.
@WalrusDoom
Playing Fast isn't playing soulless. There are so many insanely fast guitar solos that give me much more than others (slow) solos. It's a matter of tastes. (sorry for possible english errors xD)
Amazing.. Waiting For The Torrent To Download...
@InsomniaGuitar well my personal feelings for him is this. Yea ok hes good at guitar, hes pretty fast and shit but u dont need to know how to shred to be a really good guitarist. Whenever he goes out and plays hes like a friggen robot, he wont stop either. He's a fuckin train that has no breaks. Same thing goes with a lot of these other guitarists these days.
Michael Angelo = Michaelangelo
wow, that dude got old...i remember him form GFTPM magazines back in the 80s.
i've never been able to play like that...i freely admit it. but give me warren haynes anyday
can someone name the last song he plays please? awesome progressive tempo...
Thank you
@Malikon1 yeah but in this particular vid 'learn' is part of the product title =)
guys come on!!!
This is an add!!!
MAB is sooo sick
i'm deciding between this and the paul gilbert shred alert dvd which one is better considering i'm getting into shred for the first time?
How long has Batio been riding off of No Boundries? Isnt it time for a new single?
@ALEXTHEALEXNATOR2 i hope you know this is just a preview and you actually need to buy the disc for the lesson
I'm gonna break apart the same three songs I break apart in every instructional video I do.
@ALEXTHEALEXNATOR2 I'm sure you haven't seen any of his previous videos. Of course he can teach and of course it's not only a show off thing. It goes step by step and... sure, the rest is up to you.
dont ever click on a video that has ``learn`` and ``michael angelo batio`` on the tittle and expect to learn something
please someone can tell me what is the name of the last song of this trailer thanks
miguele angelo batio :3
Does anyone know the name of the song that plays from 0:48 to the end of the video?
If you just jump into it, you can only absorb so much. His videos are something to refer back to periodically after you've improved a little. He can teach.
Malmsteen on the other hand has no consideration for anyone with his instructional material. He slows it down to 140 BPM which is just under Iron Maiden speed.
what you lack is DEDICATION, no virtuoso was born great, they started from nothing!, what if i told you mikey is a lefty, he sucks at playing using his right, but he's eagerness to learn puts him where he stands now, ..he has a really deavastating right hand ..its just hours of practice, your wrong point of view that practicing his exercises once will make you a great player.. it's about working out your weak links and progressing to a new level, I actually learned alot from him
Yeah I found that out
its soooo hard to take this guy seriously
Michael is a beast of a player and a really cool guy. Check out his guitar solo on my song "Standstill And Scream".
@sakowihe75
Of course, he is great at making theory musical. But I think in general, the audience that buys these guitar DVD's are looking to improve their technique, and that's probably why they bring in guys like MAB and Jeff Loomis.
@dlheidemann Not really. I've met him several times and he is a super nice guy. Very humble. Talks a lot about guitarists that inspired him.
@StormBlitzM37AL but it works as well
@Gary1497 Yeah, in all seriousness I'm not saying Batio can't play. It's just that anything I've ever heard him do sounds the same, and has no feel to it. It's almost like a strange anti-music. Some people are into that for the sake of the skill involved, but I'd rather hear musicians of limited ability playing something passionately. That resonates more.
@Sushanz1 where did u find the torrents?
figure 31 was sick
@StormBlitzM37AL though, I would believe that his technique isn't as exhausting as using the whole wrist. I mean, it looks like he uses only the thumb to move the pick, and that's a lot less muscles than the wrist.
His dvds help a medium guitarist start playing fast, and developing a good solid technique. But for advance players its not the best thing in the world, though its worth watching just for laughing at him when he tries to be funny :)
@sakowihe75 Well Petrucci would be good too but he already has a DVD.
@ALEXTHEALEXNATOR2 well, i wouldnt agree on that but before i go expressing my vision further i would like to ask you first - what do you think is putting soul into playing? bends&vibratos? nah, its easy and everyone does that, even mab. maybe coming up with minor slow arpeggios only? what is really a soul? some mournful side of personality? maybe mab's soul isnt really sad, and he is trying to play metal, not moonlight sonata. explain it to me
@runtodemhills true but satch can play pretty damn fast and he can teach people some things that players like gilbert and batio cant, like how to create a passage instead of copying and how to listen to the melody
that's your opinion, wheter he is or not a good guitarist is a matter of taste, so no, i'm not wrong i just think he is a good guitarist.
@ALEXTHEALEXNATOR2 His lessons cater to the more advanced players. His lessons arent for beginners, he teaches quite advanced techniques.
@sakowihe75
I think Satch and Paul Gilbert do it best. Although Satch isn't really much of a shredder.
whats name figure 31 ?
you try it
@Piernot2 mab is a great teacher, but you have to get to one level before you can follow his program. i mean, why do you expect MAB would waste his time to teach you how to hold chords, or show you pentatonic scale? this is advanced program and i learned alot from it. so sit in your room and practice more
@sakowihe75 andy timmons?
@ALEXTHEALEXNATOR2 why would you hate him? you may not like him but he didn't do anything to offend you. he just does his thing, and he fucking rocks at it, you're probably just trolling if you don't agree that he's damn good.
good, but can you play smoke on the water ?
@heavyduty94 no ive actually seen his videos, ive learned a little but he still does the same thing and just shows off. sry i offended u
@ALEXTHEALEXNATOR2 Actully no. His "speed kills" dvds are awesome for learning to master alternate picking, sweeping and legato.
learn something of value*
if i put an hour in everyday for a year how much better could i get at shredding??
Stratosphere Blues You would be a very good shredder by now I think
Dr. Evil voice
@WalrusDoom So.. what you are saying is people shouldn't learn their instrument, because ... what exactly are you trying to say?
Holy shit its Bay-Tee-Oh? I always thought it was Buh-tee-o :P
@4blackout lol i love that vid
I definitely have respect for his knowledge and technique, which is obviously amazing. But I prefer shredders that can combine musicality with technique. Like Guthrie Govan. He's amazing in both regards.
@MrPetethebluesman looks like a capo with some cloth under it or somethin O.o
@ALEXTHEALEXNATOR2 I actually went to a clinic he had and he didnt do any of that showy shit he talked about legit shredding stuff and writing styles, and how he comes up with different scales and what not, it was pretty informative.
@ALEXTHEALEXNATOR2 Batio is a great teacher try Metal Method.
@munruthel1 i agree & ive been a Fan since 1989! weay before most people her knew he existed.
on shreddding you either have it or Not.
he's Fast But his solos all sound the SAME.
he was great in a Band like Nitro & needs to focus on songs in a new band
Not rehashing his speed tech, in "how to shred videos"
MAB has the mannerisms of garth from wayne's world
behold, the wig of win!
No Boundaries
He reminds me of Steve Vai :))
lol that is the worls most beast gutir
@InsomniaGuitar guess a lot of people hate micheal angelo batio ;D
@ALEXTHEALEXNATOR2 this is not true I had the original speed kills and I learned ALOT from michael..
here you are my bugs for your video.. why not my house ? you look sick ... want one of my kidneys too ?? x)
@WalrusDoom everyone's entitled to their opinion. For me, i don't find everyone who plays fast to be "soulless"
just take jason becker
Your mistaking MAB with Yngwie Malmsteen.
0:49 If you want to tell me, that THAT is no soul, you don't have the slightest idea what soul is.
wach on youtube (mike groisman
John Petrucci credits MAB and said in interviews he studied his vids. You are the uninformed, overly opinionated one here. I know those guitarists. Look up Goven. GG uses MAB as an example of great picking technique. The video is here on RUclips. Now add Mark Tremonti, Tom Morello, Michael Romeo - all of whom give Michael kudos and immense credit as a guitarist and for helping them. So, they are all wrong but you are the authority. Hahahahahahahaha! Whatever dude!
you cant judge a guitarist by his speed, fast doesn't mean tasteful
micheal the lego man
@ALEXTHEALEXNATOR2 well, ability to play fast goes as a result of practicing and particularly developing your coordination, syncing your left hand with right, and both hands with beat, you know what im saying? you cant be good guitarist without coordination either. and also, you're not supposed to be playing 80 bpm eight notes only to be a good guitarist too. search for robert marcello - old school here on youtube and propably you will get what i mean. otherwise - well, we have different tastes.
@InsomniaGuitar yes of course i know that, im a guitarist myself and its good that u can play fast and shit but its not only about how fast u play, its about putting soul into playing. This is wat micheal angelo lacks. As i said before, hes like a robot that play guitar. Its not that technical or nething, people just want to hear some guy on guitar play 200 bpm and call him a god.
I hate when micheal angelo has a singer, All shredding guitarist for that matter shouldnt use vocals unless they are beautiful, not queensrych rock,releasing the names from the circle, not quite what i thought i was,, then again im maybe more. , Now freddie mercury was different ,as halfred was different on unleashed in prehistoric east. PA system sounds earth shattering feels like quake catastophic bombardment
I'm convinced that haircut is hiding a seriously receeded hairline. There's definitely a fivehead under that fringe.
@fakematteo Eh? I'm a dubstep producer, I don't even know what a guitar is.
@InsomniaGuitar well i mean when i think of playing with sould im thinking like, lets say ur writing a piece of music and it takes u a couple of days or maybe even weeks. Some days ur feeling sad, some angry, or happy. When i say soul, write wat how u feel. And use techniques as a weapon to put more color into your playing. Im not saying MAB should stop playing music, im saying i dont like him because he tries to be this big metal artist guy if u know wat im sayin.
@BlackAureole Yes, severely. He's also deaf and gay.
