    I played with him m when he did a demo at the music store I worked at in Monterey California. Mike is a nice down to earth person. He is just ambidextrous and has practiced and learned all his life just like a lot of guitar players. I believe in giving credit where credit's due. He earns this. Although a lot of guitar players and people alike base things on what they hear people have different opinions and that's totally fine but he's good at what he does.

      I watched the man play when he did a brief tour of India sometime in 2016. I wholly agree with everything you've said about the man. Truly down to earth and was amazed at all the fans who personally went to get his autographs. Fame can be a heady thing but it didn't get to this man.

    I can't believe people are hating on this. This is the most epic thing I've ever seen. I bet MAB is the only person who could play this instrument. And for everyone who says this isn't 'music' or a 'composition'... Isn't the whole reason you play music because it's fun? This looks extremely fun. I wish I had the talent to play a double guitar.

      Mark Groves Steve vai plays double and triple necks but not with two brains working at the same time. Who can play this? Only MAB. Because he cannot hold two guitars and play at the same time, he demanded that guitar maker produce a guitar with two almost perpendicular shape so he can use both of his hands to play.

      thkoby Look, I just admitted I didn't get a guy's joke and jumped the trigger and called him ignorant. I personally think this dude is seriously talented. There really isn't a gamut of musical talent. I get your food metaphor that no matter how it is cooked it has to taste good. Same with music. I understand. However, I'd say he's got something special being able to use a dual guitar like that. It separates him from the pack. That is all I meant originally.

    • @GSSvariety
      @GSSvariety Год назад

      It's different, not bad but very niche and unconventional as well as gimmicky which is his desired result. He's a showman, showing off his ambidextrous abilities which is not common amongst the general population. It's a mix of him noodling and famous covers... It's a shame there wasn't any balance in regards to learning to compose. Talk about "putting all your eggs in one basket". Again nothing wrong with this approach or MAB in general, people have their preferences and that is ok. Music is subjective. Arguing about music is like trying to prove blue is a better color than green. Objectively 2+2=4, you can't approach music with this type of mentality.

It's more flash . It took alot of practice, make no mistake , but not as much as you'd think . Yeah he's that caliber a guitarist !! This is actually not indicative of his talent , he can do much more impressive playing with one guitar. . But still not THE best !

    I don't care that much for his double guitar performances because it's mostly just a showgimmick (which is totally fine for me - it's entertainment, guys) but I know that he's an outstanding musician and excellent, very accurate guitar player. I love what he does with a normal guitar. Michael Angelo Batio is still one of the best guitar players out there and a great teacher, too. Just watch his lessons if you play guitar for yourself. He'll show you his tricks with passion and detail. Keep up the good work, Michael Angelo!

Awesome and those who have never seen a 4 neck guitar played flawlessly have not seen true virtuoso talent he is the real deal.

    This video exemplifies the problem I've always had with MAB. The man's technique is incredible, that's indisputable, but once you get past the spectacle, there's nothing musically interesting going on here. That's why I have so much respect for players like Via, Gilbert, and Petrucci. They're technical, but they can also tell a story with their playing. I've never had that experience with MAB. If someone has some suggested listening, I'd be happy to be proven wrong, but this guy's playing has never done it for me.

    • @MichaelAngeloBatioOfficial
      @MichaelAngeloBatioOfficial 9 лет назад +4

      +reverb508 I have 12 solo albums and my last album "Intermezzo" was voted as one of the top albums of the year by Guitar World. The problem I have with most of the comments like yours is that you comment without actually ever listening to what I do. The Double-Guitar is part of my live show. What level of intelligence does it take to understand this? Unbelievable. Thanks!

    • @reverb508
      @reverb508 9 лет назад +6

      I only have a dumb ol' Master's degree in evolutionary developmental biology, but feel free to insult my intelligence because I don't like your music, Mr. Batio. For someone who's as talented and famous in the guitar community as you are, I would think you'd be able to shrug off some polite (definitely polite by RUclips standards) criticism. I understand your frustration hearing this. I have my work criticized all the time, and it sucks (peer review is a bitch), but sometimes you just need to let it slide off your back. Not everyone is going to love what you do. That's life, and needs to be expected when you create content for public consumption.
      Though it seems that you took my comment to suggest that this video is the only exposure I've had to your playing, I've in fact listened to several of your studio recordings in the past. For good measure, I just listened to the title track off "Intermezzo" and, like I said in my original comment, you're a tour de force on the guitar. That said, I feel absolutely nothing listening to you. That's not to say others shouldn't find enjoyment in your music. Different strokes for different folks.
      Cheers!

    This song is so boring. You guys might think it's a cool trick, but look at 1:20 his timing is horrible and he can't even tap well. His songs are also very linear, showing nearly no variation. Being a good musician isn't about being able to play as many instruments as you can (at the same time), but being able to play them well and actually being able to write good music. If you want to actually hear good music, check out Eric Calderone's channel.

    • @MichaelAngeloBatioOfficial
      @MichaelAngeloBatioOfficial 10 лет назад +68

      The problem with your critique is the supposed "linear" songwriting of this solo is actually a medley of Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, The Allman Bros. Randy Rhoads, surf music and more, plus MAB's original music, with mixed meters, in many different keys. So if they all write in linear fashion, than you are not knowledgeable about music, you're insane or jealous or just stupid.

    • @briann2911

      MACEMusicInc Maybe this just isn't the kind of music I listen to all of the time, so I'm sorry for thinking it all sounds the same. That's my opinion. And the problem with your response is that my opinions do not display how knowledgeable I am on any subject, or how "insane", "jealous", or "stupid" I am. I do not wish to argue over the internet, but it's just my opinion that these artists sound the same. If they don't sound the same to you, then that's your opinion.
