Tom Morello was doing an interview on Howard Stern. Stern asked how he learned to play, and Morello said there was this 'guy at the guitar shop that gave him a few tips'. He goes on to explain that the 'guy' was Michael Angelo Batio and said he's one of the GOATs. Absolutely insane skills
I love how Michael has such respect for Artists such as Metallica and Randy Rhoads and Led Zepp so much so as to do a tribute video to each of them , i also love how he goes from 80bpm to 3BILLION bpm with ease lol

Michael is one of the nicest guys in music. My old band got to play a handful of shows with him as well as hang out with him, as we have mutual friends. He's commanding on the stage but super laid back and quite hilarious in person. One of the best players to walk the face of the earth but zero ego.
Honestly one of my favorite things about him. I like the discography of other players way more, but I'll always come back for some MAB because I just damn like the guy too much
True. Got to chat with him at a guitar clinic years ago. I love his intimidating in-your-face no nonsense hardcore metal image, yet in person he's so chilled and down to earth. Insane skills.
I’ve always asked myself why Michael is so underrated and not famous as long as other “major known” shredders. This guy made the history of the guitar and he deserve more success, respect and attention. Hail to batio. 🤘🏻
As a hobby guitarist. It can be a little depressing watching Batio play. I'm ok but there are times he's playing so fast and smooth I can't help but think, hey wait that's not possible. Nothing but mad respect for this guy. 🙇
