@Brent Peterson You must not compose music. You don't produce 118 albums of songs in a year; not even Schubert did that. You might put out 118 discs of stuff you played on an instrument, but an improvisation is not the same as a composed song (whether for better or for worse), and a pasted-together collection of disparate flibbertibits is not usually a song either. I don't think you've listened to much in his Pikes Series either, have you. Like, at least 80% of it. I certainly haven't cuz it's too often boring noodling, as per his usual. I'd rather waste my time differently than waiting for him to actually put something together. At least with his earlier stuff, they were half-baked ideas, but they had some insane flop of notes smeared over the top. It went nowhere and meant nothing, but it was a cute sound-bite kind of thing. There's no question he knows how to play guitar really well but, like most virtuosos, he doesn't have even a faint idea how to put a song together, not even a straight for ABAB-bridge-BBBB song. You spend so much time learning to play fast and solo, you never have time to study how to put a song together. (Compare Jeff Loomis and Jason Becker, for instance.) Steve Vai has the same problem. But Steve is fun to watch, so that covers any boring risks; Buckethead suffers by proximity to himself (I mean, even Pike 65 is killingly dull by five minutes in), but at least he's not as boring as Satriani :)

Honarable mention: Mark Tremonti of Alter Bridge in “Slip to the Void” life at parrallax orchestra: 21 notes per second & many other songs with a prolonged 17 notes per second.

The Great Kat LOL! Bought her album in something like 1988 and read the liner notes and it became fairly clue she was more dominatrix than musician.

All these people are amazingly fast, technique at a virtuoso level. But to me personally, the only one who reached the pinnacle of technique & artistic creativity, is Buckethead. They all blow me away in a shredder sense, but only Buckethead takes me to a whole new world with how unique his creativity is while being fast.
