Its not ambiguous. The 6th/5th/5.5 edition thing was on purpose. It was how they forced the owners of dndbeyond to sell it to wotc. They had a contract fo 5e, so wotc said sell us the platform or we'll make 6th edition, and you'll get nothing. Then after they sold it over, wotc immediately turned around and said to everyone, no no, its just 5e, really i swear.
I still want Wotc to publish a changelog of all the changes between 5th edition and 5.5e. this way I can go through them each one at a time, and determine whether I want to accept them into my game or not.
Just letting you know while there's only a handful of comments, not sure if it's just me but the class stereotypes video has the 44 rules description still.

I'll stay with Pathfinder2e. The original was balanced enough and the Remaster is more balanced.
Plus Piazo specifically went out of thier way to do the opposite of the OLG issue with ORC.

If most people were willing to leave 4e behind for the big step backwards that 5e was, I'm sure Next will find its audience.
Yeah. And how many people are going to veer off sideways to get into one of the hundreds of new games appearing on the scene? We’re probably going to see a splintering as people grow even more particular on how they spend their money.
It’s one thing to continue to pick up books for a system you’ve been playing for years. It’s quite another to plunk down that money to purchase the complete upgraded system when you have a ton of third party imitators doin* similar things but in new and innovative ways.

@@alicepbg2042 4.0 was widely panned. It is the SSBB of D&D. The early 2010s were dark times. I don't know what that poster is smoking, but almost everyone agreed for years that 4.0 was trash, and we didn't even need a 5.0 comparison for context. Now that 5.0 is in the conversation, people are thinking about 4.0 favorably, but I don't think its because its actually a good system, people just want anything other than 5, because its so gutted and bad.
i dislike wizards of the coast heavily, all they want to do is try to monetize DnD.
That's what corporations do?

One D&D feels like 3.5e D&D where a lot of the mechanics are pretty backwards compatible excluding a few rules here and there

I think it's reasonable to say a company might be allowed to p off their fans like this once without being beyond redemption. Twice or more though? Nah, it's not like wotc is a government or has a monopoly on the fantasy ttrpg, an entity in the free-market should not be able to assume good-will from fans after they've had to repeatedly go to war with it like DnD and WoTC's fans have. Anybody that expects wotc to actually be trustworthy ever again is deluding themselves. Hasbro, the board and the shareholders killed it. It's past time for everybody to move to different systems
