Elidibus: NNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! They stole the jazz collection! You'll pay for this, accursed Scions! ESPECIALLY YOU, CHAMPION OF HYDAELYN! YOU'LL ALL PAY FOR THIS!
If you think about it Jazz really is the best music genre for Amaurotines. A musical style that emphasises improvisation suits creators that made stuff up out of nothing perfectly.
The architecture of Amaurot reminds me of Art deco as well, which is an architecture style popular in the 20s and 30s, when jazz and swing was more popular. This track is very big band with some Bossa Nova elements and instrumentation mixed in.
I think that improvisation would put too much individuality into it and maybe open the door to pride and showing off, so perhaps the music of Phillip Glass would better suit the collective.

this definitely brought back a lot of Sastasha feels, from the way they remixed that original theme for this dungeon, and the final boss battle. That in particular made me think "Oh hey, remember that mechanic from the final boss in Sastasha? The one nobody cares about? Better start caring now bitches!"
Funny enough I entered Hydatos for the first time the other day and finished it the day before patch only to find Ovni again in this dungeon. Mere coincidence in my experience.

I love how at the very beginning and every now and then in between they wove the theme of "The Drowned City of Skalla" into it when you listen closely :D
omg i got sastasha hard in 50s rollo and heard the part that is almost the same in both of those goddamnit Soken, why are you so good with the remixes and leitmotifs?!
Just finished this dungeon, and as someone who loves jazz (and wants to pick up the saxaphone) this theme is soo good...Shadowbringers didn't really have a bad dungeon theme for me, they all have been fantastic so far, including The Twinning (oh man that might be my favorite with this being a close second)
This piece is maybe one of the most unique theme I've ever listened to. You expect some typical adventurer dungeon theme until 0:38 which drops the hardest jazz bop out of nowhere, completely unexpecting it. This the cooler Sastascha.
I love the direction the soundtrack goes. You are travelling on the back of a whale into an ancient city with history long forgotten while fighting fish monsters…JAZZ!
This is cool and all but would be way better if they held off on the jazzy aesthetic until you actually reach the ruins. Would've been a more rewarding suprise.

And so did I.
Soken just turned my most hated dungeon theme into something so SWANKY. I will never stop loving this man and the people he works with.
not easy to find someone that hate Sastasha more than Toto-rak
How is Sastasha the most hated when aurum vale exists?
Good question. I hate Aurum Vale with a passion.
I guess they hate Sastasha because it's downright boring (even though Copperbell is even more boring), Aurum is just ridiculous
Aurum's a slap in the face because it caps at 49 instead of 50. Sastasha's actually better now with the tank reworks...
