Nice spot!.When I backpack in the Sierra, i lug along a rod/real, a frying pan, olive oil and old bay seasoning. Fresh trout is the best! Those Goldens are beautiful.
@UntilJourneysEnd I only watch two fishing channels. Fishing with Amani, because it's always near tahoe and he teaches you how to fish, and you. Yours are just unbelievably beautiful and well edited. It really feels like a journey for the wife and I when we can't go ourselves. I tell everyone I know to watch.

While on a trek from n to s lake a month ago, we ran across a fella out of crowly (jim?) who was fly fishing for Goldens in darwin canyon. He was just there for the day! Lamarck col twice on the same day!&#?! That is when it really sunk in - golden trout fisherman are truly on another level. LOL

I had my knife made by a custom knife maker from upstate New York. ML Knives. Tell him I sent you. 👉🏻 ml-knives.com It’s a GREAT knife. Holds a very sharp edge, requires only light touch ups. As with any blade, the more you use it, the more you’ll need to hit the stone come sharpening time.
Brother micah ! Have you ever encountered altitude sickness, and if so, what was your remedy? Every time i go up them darn hills i get sick and have to cut my trip short ...lol thanks
My stove is no longer made by Snow Peak….which I’m super bummed about because I love it. But the next closest thing is this one: amzn.to/4crSAOd Snow peak makes quality stoves! Mine is going on 4 years old, still goin strong
No disrespect, but those just look like regular trout to me. A "Golden" trout is mostly yellow in color and look totally different than regular trout. I do appreciate the videos, check out some of my fishing videos up here in washington state!
Are you talking about Palomino/lightning trout? These are most likely hybrid Golden and Rainbow trout to some degree. Pure Goldens are only in a few systems.

Lose the fly-rod when fishing high mountain waters, use lightweight rod & reel. 4lb test & 2lb leader, small pencil or pea-shot, size 14 egg hooks and egg. keep water movement to a minimum as to not scare the fish.

Yes! You have to acclimate for at least 24hrs at a lower elevation before ascending. Generally 1,000ft lower than where you want to backpack to.

Lose the fly rod?? Never hahah But I love the setup you’re mentioning! I prefer Pline 5lb fluoroclear. Eggs would definitely work!
