    Two of my favorite people, Jake and Micah. great video. love how jake worked out some issues with your cast. that was one hell of a bushwhack too. glad you guys had fun. wish i was there with you. lots of spawning colors on those fish. signs of a healthy creek. lots of par marks too. most likely 2 year olds that held over from the big winter last year. great news.

    Nice catches. Your videos get me so excited and jealous at the same time. Unfortunately I had to cancel my week long fishing trip due to a back injury flare up. Hopefully I can get out there and do some fishing in July. Love your catch and cooks. See you on your next video hopefully sooner than later.

    I believe those are coastal rainbows. I’ve caught some really pretty fish in that creek. That little orange tip just adds to it.

      100%, I think you’re right. They’re also likely descendants of the Southern Californian steelhead before the creek became dammed.

    looks like an awesome spot! are you using wading pants or what for walking around in the creek?

    • @UntilJourneysEnd
      @UntilJourneysEnd  5 месяцев назад

      I use Wrangler’s ATG synthetic pants - they’re awesome! Very light, durable, and dry out fast! 👇🏻👇🏻

    Sweet video! I am kinda baffled that you’d dunk your sleeping bags like that on a backpacking trip. A wet sleeping bag can scream danger. Is this normal practice?

    • @myotherlinefishing
      @myotherlinefishing 5 месяцев назад +2

      Are you asking if he normally gets his sleeping bag wet? 😂

    • @UntilJourneysEnd
      @UntilJourneysEnd  5 месяцев назад +2

      Sleeping bags are like donuts. The more you dunk em, the better they are.
      😆😆😆 Sorry just had to…I know what you’re asking! And it’s actually a great point. Two factors lined up that made Jake and I not worry about getting our bags wet:
      1. Our bags were synthetic - if they were down, we would be in trouble. But synthetic dries out much faster than down.
      2. We had at least 9hrs of daylight left. Plenty of time for them to dry out with the amount we got them wet.
      So with the temps additionally not getting colder than 40 degrees, we felt completely safe.

    Glad you didn't expose your fishing spot! Keep it a secret so it doesn't get ruined. But make sure to read the rules and regulations for that area. Pretty sure it's a day use only, aswell as catch and release single barbless hook because it's part of the heritage trout program. But nice video!

    • @UntilJourneysEnd
      @UntilJourneysEnd  4 месяца назад

      Thanks Kyle for double checking on the regs! There are actually no special regulations for this part of the creek according to the CDFW 2024 handbook.
      As for camping, I couldn’t find anything that said we couldn’t backpack. But if there’s something I missed, point me where I should look!
      Thanks again for the comment.

    Great video. But if your going to let him go. Don't put your finger in his gill.

    • @UntilJourneysEnd
      @UntilJourneysEnd  5 месяцев назад +1

      We didn’t, we pushed out his tongue inside his mouth so we could identify any jaw markings. Always very careful around the gills!
