This just proves that RE4 is a timeless game. Almost 2 decades past and it's still a masterpiece.
That knife deflects feature adds another level of combat fun to the gameplay
It does add to the fun, but it also takes away from the survival aspect IMO
totally, game added crouch for its stealth mechanic also a nod to how dynamic it would be for dodging hit box.

Actually it has a downside the knife breaks very fast doesn't last long you have pick and choose carefully when to parry.

The remake is making additions and changes to combat, stealth, exploration, puzzles, story, character development, art direction, sound design, pacing, and more. I hope you’re trolling, because that was a pretty dumb oversimplification, to say the least.
They knew they had to nail this one and they absolutely did. ❤️ I’m so excited for New Game Plus. I’m going to play this game into the ground

Dude Capcom has been killin it lately! Every time they release a game now, I know for a fact that I'm gonna love it and play it over and over again. It feels like they not only love what they do, but love the people they do it for. This is total fan service, they deliver every time and listen to their player base. I've come to love Capcom so much over the years.
I hope Konami can reach this level of brilliance with the Silent Hill revival.
If Konami's bringing back Silent Hill, i definitely would want them to make a new castlevania or metal gear game

Defo Castlevania, ever since the SNES version I’ve loved it, oddly I still think the SNES 2D version was best.
I still remember my first experience with the original, skipped school for a week and got dumped by the girlfriend. All worth it!

Who ever is responsible for RE2 remake and This game are Legends.
They are like perfection, they know what they are doing with these games, with not adding to much , not taking away to much, not over doing anything, balancing the game perfectly.
It's incredible what people can do to masterpieces, and make them even better. Dudes were living in a great time to be old school gamers.

If only RE3 didn't seem so rushed.
RE2 Remake was a great game but it cut too much and was a bit rushed in some areas. It could’ve been even better. This game seems to of learned its lessons even better this time around.

@@khululyp it cut entire sections of the game and the whole A/B scenarios and the extreme battle mode, and the zapping system...
Appreciate how the mission briefings are more of a walk and talk style rather than hearing it from a menu. helps the pacing alot

Why can’t other companies learn from Capcom?
We got a Dead Space, Final Fantasy 7 and Demon Souls remakes. I think some are getting it.
It took 2 Remakes to recapture the magic and skill needed. Capcom learned from themselves. EA also captured lightning in a bottle with dead space. So I think we are in a good place.
And how long did it take for them learn? Because from 2012-2016 Capcom was on the verge of collapse, thanks to resident evil 6, Raccoon city and trying to make every game a Michael bay movie.
Because the entire revenue of this game cannot even match the revenue of a mobile game in two or three months.

I'm 34 and played this on the wii back in 2007. It's been one of my favorite and most replayed games ever since, so I am extremely hyped for this too!

They HAD to get this one right, and it looks like they did, thankfully. The original is a masterpiece, and to play an updated and refined version of it has me very excited.
As fan of the OG re4 the fact that leon can crouch and deflect pretty much everything with his knife this time around is a god send 👍

I thought 4 did this but it was very hard to pull off. This seems to make it easier to do. Stuff like this is why people hated RE6. It took away the horror.

I’m so Fn excited! 10’s coming from all over the place! From my first experience with RE in ‘96 to the first REmake, I didn’t even think RE could make me impressed again like that until RE4. Now here we are again and it’s glorious! Funny how we have to look backwards for quality.

This is shaping up to be some year for games, DS remake, Hi-Fi Rush, RE4 Remake, Metroid Prime Remaster and although not quite at the same standard I've enjoyed Wo Long too. And we've still got all the big hitters to come, Tears of the Kingdom, Starfield, FF16, Spiderman 2, and then you add Baldurs Gate 3, Armored Core 6, Jedi Survivor, Diablo 4, Silent Hill 2 Remake, Sea of Stars and supposedly Silksong. Probably forgot one or two.

I just replayed the original and it holds up still and now seeing this has me even more excited!
I have beaten the original more times than any other game. I started it earlier this week, and it's still ridiculously fun, despite it feeling like an 18 year old game. Cannot wait for REmake 4.

Mercenaries will launch later as free DLC. As for Ada Campaign, i have no idea.

Engadgets review of this is hilarious. Literally everybody is giving this a 10 but their reviewer kept complaining about how difficult the late game is and had to change it to assisted mode. Massive skill issue and they bash the game for it. It’s a masterpiece, enough said. Great review GameSpot!!
If he want an easy game then he should play mario or something. RE4 Remake being harder to play as compared to the original is one of the best things in this remake.
They fixed the blur issues of the ps5 version of the demo.

I’m not sure if it was ever mentioned anywhere, even for the original, but I really like their creative choice of replacing the classic zombies with Las Plagas. They resemble zombies but also still retain a level of intelligence too, making it feel familiar yet all the more a threat.
18 Years later and still he genre defining masterpiece it's ever been. Puts the competition to shame with on hand on it's back.

The only spoiler I wanna know is regarding the TMP in the demo. Is it still there in the actual game? Do you still have to drop everything first to get access to that area (that would be dumb imo)? Do you get access but there’s other stuff down there and the TMP comes later?

I remember playing RE4 on the Wii and being completely blown away, I have a PS5 now and bought the steelbook version a little over a month ago but have been too busy to even play it as of tomorrow night I look forward to sitting down and replaying this masterpiece that after playing metal gear solid on the ps1 I didn’t think a game could top that, wish me luck

@@Enclosure_2k exactly what I said there has never been a better video game remake than the resident evil 1 remake for GameCube again like resident evil 4 pioneered the first person perspective resi 1 remake pioneered the remaking games thing as a whole it’s arguably the gold standard people should look at when considering what a true remake is not to be confused with reimagining and remastering which some people still mix up now until this day. Whenever someone wants to define a proper remake of a game they should look to resi 1 remake as the definitive answer. Best game in the resident evil series still to this day.

what a great time to be a survival horror fan, great game transitioning form Deadspace Remake, RE4's an amalgmation of the Survival horror genre and a culmination of the RE series.

My only gripe with Capcom remakes are the remove to replace why not just keep the same and improve it I mean remakes are meant to bring nostalgia and make it more epic not replace it entirely but who knows maybe it will change mind.

The aiming controls for the xbox version are completely broken due to the dead zone issues but hardly any reviews have mentioned it.
