- The remake of Resident Evil 3 makes a strong first impression, and its online companion game Resistance has some interesting ideas, but they both struggle to follow through.

IGN: praised the campaign and gave it 9
Fans: BS, alot of contents were cut from the original
Gamespot: ok so we felt that the campaign was short and shrank from the original, gave it 6
Fans: dislike Gamespot
Am an OG re fan and honestly the remake left out some crucial things vital to the game.
the game was originally short already. About 5 hours tops.
I agree with Gamespot. as for IGN, they sugar-coated the remake.
@@lostn65 Thiis is shorter. Theres cut content like the clock tower apparanteley.
IGN are fucken shills payed by companies, J. Sterling made horrible review to 🤮
How could they remove the clock tower. One of the most memorable moments from the original game. Yikes.
Ibrahim Hassan and what bother’s me the most is that they’ve mentioned it in a note/memo you find during the gameplay 🤨
I’m more disappointed at the fact that poor nemesis failed to kill any STARS member in the remake. 🤷🏻♂️
Ibrahim Hassan REALLY? They removed it ?! 😧😡
Tamer Ciftci more like “adults” that played the original.. kids don’t know what to compare this with
Wtf HOW?
Hey, at least we got a MP mode that no one asked for, right?
...and appears to have some of the same anti-consumer microtransactions, that the likes of Ubisoft in particular have been lambasted for.
Not to side the developers, but then the original game is short. However, pricing this at full price is just injustice and unjustifiable...
Obviously used as a quick cash in through microtransactions and high priced dlc
John Powell which it has none of.
Yeee... (Getting back to dbd)
Everyone said that Nemesis is scarier than Mr. X. Yes, that’s true. But I had more of a thrill having Mr. X tracking me down and hearing his footsteps
For sure. The way Nemesis was hyped up was a let down. Just not enough of him in the game.
Yeah, when Nemesis does show up It gets Intense but the thrill Is just too short, unlike Mr.X! When the guy shows up he's there too stay untill you find a way out of R.P.D, you can't get rid of him and he's always on your tail, every bullet fire lures him too you, so you always gotta be on the move! YES! I do like the new RE3 cuz It's not ALL bad( I like the 2 additional difficulty options and a ton of unlockables) but aye...Re2 came out better by far.
In the OG the Nemesis fights were more organic. These fights are super scripted. Basically training wheels on fights making him less scary.
The game tells you to shoot here and then here then hit the glowy thing to win.
That never happened in the OG. You had to figure it out thus making it way more scarier. Because thinking how to fight while being chased around the map by Nemmy is HORRIFYING.
This game took that completely out with the exception of the first part.
Heck the doggy Nemesis fights are so easy it's laughable.
No Mr. X is scarrier than Nemesi s imo, because can use the dodge mechanism for nemesis, Mr X you have to straight up run.
The game would be too impossible if nemesis acts like Mr.X as nemesis runs and do 3 punch combos.
Not worth the full price, wait for sale.
I'll just crack it
But worth the game share with the buddy
I'm broke af due to losing my job from coronavirus anyways. lol
Ryan Gloria i already bought the collectors editions, gtfo casual ass fan
Its coming with Resident Evil Resistance so its two games .
Things removed: Brad isn't killed by nemesis. No grave digger. No Clocktower. No Park.
Less gore and no ragdolls
no clock tower? wow. That's the only part of RE3 that felt like classic RE (mansions, puzzles and keys). It's where Jill gets infected after a boss fight with nemmy.
Do they have the water treatment puzzle from the sewers?
No freeze rounds
No spiders
no dead factory
No grave yard, you only see drain Deimos 1 time only, Carlos goes to the rpd not Jill, Jill somehow can carry and shoot the rail gun like nothing, no “you want stars, I’ll show you stars”
This game was made with the RE engine, meaning 70% of the job was already done, including zombie models, objects, mechanics, yet they still somehow half assed it, then had nerve to charge full price. If gaming companies keep this up, I won't be buying a next gen console
Don't buy it.
Don't lie. You're going to buy a next gen console no matter what
>buying consoles
You've only yourself to blame.
I'm with you . I havent even extended my ps subscription bcos why pay for what you cannot play for. Example last of us to will have no multiplayer so why you need my online money for.
I bought it on PC and refunded it after about an hour. Seemed like a cheap DLC for RE2.
Capcoms starting to get lazy and greedy again it seems. Hopefully this will put some flames under their asses to not rush things.
How are they lazy and greedy all of a sudden. Just play the game and see for YOURSELF
Tyler Davis lol one bad release out of the countless good ones that came before it. This game isn’t even bad. It’s pretty good. I can see why people are upset but that doesn’t mean they are going back to their old ways... before the dark times...
@@MARRO1190 oh stfu.
They removed alot of content and puzzles from the original game.
They underused nemesis...he no longer chases you down or catches you off guard throughout the game he only appears as scripted boss fights the game is nothing like the original it's actually worse off when it should be better and have MORE content!
Stop defending capcom for being lazy when the original game so much better in every way than this remake. There's no excuse for this poor excuse for a remake.
@@jhamer18 Easy John. I think you're being a bit harsh but also... You do make a good point lol.
Quit exaggerating. This game is great and has as much replay value as 2. Yes it could have had more to it but I accept and enjoy it for what it is
Capcom : lets cut down resident evil 3 content for Resistance multiplayer and microtransaction
Fans : disappointed
Capcom : Pikachu face
EA : welcome to the family, son
RE2 remake was good and capom saw this and got greedy even lazy 😔
What micro transactions? You guys keep piggybacking off that same argument but it’s not even a real argument.
If you see any microtransactions let us know
My bad, I think its not mtx
I saw lootboxes and always thinking microtransaction

Ruined by the stupid multiplayer. This came out way too soon. Should of been released next year to allow time to develop a great game. Such a shame.
That was our fault, as soon as RE2 came out people started asking for RE3. Now that Capcom has finally started to listen to the fans we need to be patient

im literally debating if I want to get it right now but after seeing all these reviews and stuff I don't think its worth 60 and im not getting it for the multiplayer I don't care for that, only the story and if I get only like 5-10 hours out of it its not worth 60 you are literally paying a couple of bucks just for an hour of gameplay and to the people who beat it in like an hour or two wellp if you don't replay you just spent 10-20 bucks for each other but ya not worth it they should of just made it 40.
@@ZeR-rm1pf Dude, you'd being doing good to get 5-10 hours. Most people are saying it can be beaten in 4 hours on a first run playthrough and 1.5 to 2.5 hours on a speedrun. I'd definitely hold off, as much as it pains me to say it.
This game was on sale if you preordered at Walmart for 49.99 and if you looked online you could have found a promo code for 25 bucks off online purchase for Walmart. I ended up paying like 26 bucks and I did the same for ff7 remake. That being said I hope there is free dlc for this midget remake
Millennium 222MuZic what do you expect from single player linear campaign??? 50 hours? You can buy Ghost Recon Breakingpoint if you want 50 hours campaign

Should’ve been DLC for RE2 remake
Ben Dover no it shouldn’t
Thomking90 Animatie Why not? There’s barely any content that justifies a full 60$ price tag
@@XD123771 Umm theres is 6-7 hours of Content and its pretty long
EFKA Ltu 6-7 hours does not justify a full price tag buddy. Uncharted 4’s DLC “Lost Legacy” was 6-7 hours long and they charged 40$ for that.
@@XD123771 Dude Lost legacy was diffrent game not dlc
And if the game is not long that doesn't mean its bad plus there are much shorter games
Main problem: came out a year after re2 remake. This game was rushed
It's made by a different team of developers that's why....RE2 remake was made by Japanese capcom developers while RE3 remake was developed by American capcom team.
Which explains the forced and unnecessary multiplayer mode and too much action not enough horror.
American capcom developers also ruined previous resident evil games
everything is cut
@@jhamer18 RE 3 was always an action game?
@@sasuke4400 people keep saying that but it's not true at all
RE3 original is exactly the same as RE2 just more fast paced
Its not action its survival horror like RE2 and the fact that in the original RE3 game nemesis was very intimidating and chased you everywhere you couldn't hide in the remake he only appears as scripted boss fights such a huge disappointment
@@jhamer18I literally played it years ago, and played it again a week ago. It's way more of an action game then it is a horror game. It's not the same in terms of tone and pacing. It's much faster and the extra addition of the dodge only adds to that. it is survival horror but it has far more action than it does RE 2.
$60 for a 5 hour story and a shitty mp lul
5 hours and not even 5 amazing hours
@Donovan Davis u beat it in 2 hours more or less ? =0
@Donovan Davis good to know !!
@Donovan Davis you're a liar. This game is short af. If you beat 2 as fast as you say, you wouldve beat this in no more than 2 hrs, regardless whether it was your first time playing.. I mean, since you're so good
They'll probably charge $20 for the "clock tower expansion" in a few months.
yeah, but id buy it hate to say
cracking that then if they really have the nerve to do that
It’s too late they should of put the park the gravedigger, the dead factory and the clock tower in the final product
I will buy it all no matter what game is still 9.5/10 for me
i'll buy it and have us play as Brad or even Barry Burton
Its clear only reason they made RE3 was to sell their shitty resistance game. Game is clearly rushed with cut content.
Not really.

I bought this game at full price and being that it is only 10GB is highly disappointing. But whatever I like these kind of reviews, that are honest. Thank you Gamespot.
Yeah, most youtubers are recommending to wait 2-3 months for a 20-30 dls off sale. I would've preordered it at a local Gamestop but they're all closed in CA.
I bought this game for 45 bucks on pc no lie, and I've played the demo for 16 hrs total and that was free! I think this game is fantastic, but that's my opinion, and hey this review is also an opinion. I suggest you play the demo and form you own opinion based off of first hand experience with the game. Maybe in your own opinion will agree with mine, and maybe you've already played the demo and decided that this ain't your kind of sandwich, but I hope that you've at least taken a bite.
I usually wait a few months, sale or definitive edition
@@carnivoresMime You played the demo for 16 hours?
Why lol. I beat it in 30 minutes and uninstalled, and that's including checking every corner.
What replay value is there? There's no secrets or alternate routes or anything. It's as linear as a call of duty game.
I kind of expected this. It came out too soon after RE2, and even the demo just felt like a clunky reskin
It's a huge shame. Re3 is the least beloved of the first 4, by a huge margin. It had the most to gain from a remake, but they rushed this out instead. Would have been nice to get this after an re8, and have it be a real big racoon city. The later nemesis fights look terrible, a real bummer compared to his look and mechanics earlier in the game. Super bummed out by this, gonna wait till it's $20 down the road
The game was not rushed if that’s what you mean.
RE3 Remake was in development for three years prior to the initial announcement.
It was handled by a different team though not the ones who developed 2 remake.

Johan Rocha 🤦♂️🤣
I have the game since yesterday and honestly it's not a bad game but it is a terrible remake. The progression in this game is very fast, like you're constantly going from one location to another and unfortunately a lot of locations have been cut. There's no way this game was in development for 3 years. Seems like 1 year to me. The potential is there and if they got everything right, I would give it 10/10 but in the current state I cant. This game needed another year of development
But Capcom confirmed is been 3 years
@@serenseitcean2051 the project itself maybe , but I doubt it took them 3 years to develop it. It already uses most assets from Re2 remake like police station, some streets, zombies etc. Thats what is propably meant by being developped simultaneously with RE2R .The story and new locations must ve been made in much shorter time. They really cut a lot here.
@@Dany_Fox1 Police Station was also in Original dude

@@serenseitcean2051 I didn't say it wasn't. The original also used most assets from RE2.. but the game felt more complete than this one

When Jill got out of the subway after the crash, the player is introduced to a whole new part of the city and the clock tower was introduced. At that point I felt as if the game finally started. We’d get to see the giant worm, the park, the clocktower and some other nostalgic things that were missing throughout the entire game. However, the game was already wrapping up after the hospital gameplay and the ending was so rushed. Sad. They could at least have redone the original intro to make the game start interesting, however, the entire game felt like a rushed intro into the actual game that never started in my opinion. Still, props for the graphics and how the game was made, because that’s excellent.
Cryptic2000 The power of a remake lies within the nostalgia. The clock tower, the park and the cemetery were very memorable parts of the game. Sure, changes and tweaks in a remake are right at home, because it’s not a remastered version, but changing the story thus much you skip more than half of the original game is a loss of creativity. Because if it was about just a better story, to not play through nostalgia glasses, why not make an entirely new game?
@@yuh6271 Wow, you just sound bitter and pressed. It's like this remake is your entire life and people who don't like it as much as you do are terrible people for it. Have a good day :)
Just finished the game tonight, heres my review
My pros
1. Visually stunning, graphics and models
2. Voice acting and motion capture on point
3. Good mix of tactics and gameplay required for both Jill and Carlos sections
4. Areas were fun to explore for items, files and safes
5. Pace of the story was done well, didnt fall flat
6. Slight changed order of scenarios took me by surprise, was a refreshing change.
7. New areas and content for both Jill and Carlos
8. Cutscenes and soundtrack were intense, great atmosphere created.
9. Weapon modifications and ammo crafting options.
10. A noticeable amount of good jump scares from enemies.
11. Shop bonus after campaign completion giving a bit of replay value
My cons
1. Nemesis could have pursued you more spontaneously instead of pre-scripted boss fights
2. Removal of the Grave Digger boss
3. Iconic areas like the Clock Tower, Raccoon Park, Dead Factory all completely cut. These classic sections should have been kept in.
4. Removed the spiders and poison status (no blue herbs)
Instead was replacing with a parasite section (interesting but underused completely, could have been explored more.)
5. Making Nemesis four legged and run round like a mad animal didnt really fit well (this was done way too early, if it needed to be done at all)
6. Live action choices removed from the original (however I know this was done to give it a more linear storyline)
7. Severe lack of puzzles
8. Story just a little on the short side for hours clocked up
9. No Mercenaries (in the game where it all started, really. Ps Resistance is just not for me, not feeling the multiplayer at all)
Overall, a fun and interesting game to play, not terrible, but not amazing by any standards.
8/10 for just a general game
7/10 for a Survival Horror game
6/10 for a worthy Remake
Overall I'd give it 7/10 as a Resident Evil game
Why is every review that criticizes the game getting downvoted don't like the truth?
What you talking about? This game is great!!!
-shorter campaign than original
-no Mercenary mode
-no branching paths
This will be GOTY!!!!!
I don't get how people can down-vote a video review of a game that isn't even out yet. To disagree with this review when none of these people have a credible opinion of their own yet is just childish and weak.
Where did my comment go??
What truth? This is one persons opinion
Because even her views on the original seem off.
So most reviewer agreed, RE 3 look pretty but a meh game
Thank you for the honest review, I'm sure a lot of people appreciate that you're not just giving it a high rating simply because of the hype surrounding it. Solid justifications and explanations, keep it up Alessandro and thanks for the voice-over, Lucy!
I'm disappointed with this game. Such a good potential with the remake, yet they somehow made it too short and too linear. Graphics is not everything. Why charge full price for this? This could have been an easy $20 DLC!
Alvin Hill I am calling it that it will go on sale on summer. May as well go play Doom Eternal.
This is most certainly not worth a $20 DLC, that's absolutely insulting. Maybe a $40 game is a better argument and more fair. But this game is fantastic, you call the game "linear" as if RE2 isn't linear. All resident evil games are linear, this one gives you way more space to work with then RE2 did. I honestly don't understand the disappointment with this game. I saw the reviews and thought maybe i shouldn't buy this, it's getting alot of criticism. But then i said fuck it, i loved RE2. I'm so glad i brought it because it's fantastic and a great game to play on my weekend.
brendan roy I was being sarcastic with my $20. However, full price is still insulting to everyone. I grew up playing all RE games from PS1 up to date. Linear, sure I get that since they are all like that. Adding a multiplayer nobody asked for to get an excuse to charge this full price is dirty. RE games WILL NEVER ,and I repeat WILL NEVER BE AN MP GAME even as an add-on. Passing on this til i see it below $40.
@@asianlion9769 OH HELLLL YEAH! Get Doom Eternal over re3.
I disagree... about 30 in my opinion lol
yeah, short and they cut a lot of stuff, plus a dumb multiplayer, RE2RE was supposed to be the gold standard.
Re 1 Remake is The gold one
Eh I like the RE2 much more personally, the 1st ones cool and all, but all they did was make it look like it was from the ps2 era, where 2 looks so jaw droppingly beautiful, loved 1 but it’s clear to me they gave more attention to 2, the angles of 1 hindered my enjoyment, also, never played the original RE1 so that’s probably why I’m not in love with it as much
@M. Sami that's unfair. REmake HD was a remaster of the Gamecube version and couldn't have been made today because they try to appeal to all audiences.
Rice MenaRQ ah that explains why it looks that way, kinda looks gamecubish
RE2R also cut shit from the original
Can't believe that Capcom cut so much content in this remake. Surely a remake should improve on the original in every way. This seems like a bit of cash grab tbh, I also don't give two shits about Project Resistance. The original remake of RE1 is still the gold standard when it comes to remakes IMO.
Resident Evil 2 remake was awesome
@@MakeaChangeKillYourself yeah, like the Grave Digger battle ¿right?
I just feel and know in a way that they want to change these games as much as they can so they can say that's our game in the credits and shit on the OG developers and fans like what happened with silent hill I feel bad for the actual developers of these games because all they can do is sit back and say wtf are you doing to our baby :( it's a shame I'm so happy I didn't preorder it as I did with resident evil 2 and regretted it so badly lol. I am not being sucked into this crap but that's my opinion.
Re1 remake is the best remake of all time
RE 2 only improved right? To my knowledge they only added stuff I didn't actually play re2 original because the visuals make me feel so unimmersed.
Honestly so accurate it hurts
Having looked at now both versions
This device sums up the main issue of this remake
-a hodgepodge of old story remixed poorly around
- characterization weaker
- a lackluster end
Especially that ending.
way too short and no replayability either.
That's why they have re resistance instead of mercenary mode or new game+ which i was hoping for Jill B........ They really screwed this remake
@Donovan Davis sheep. Your the reason why game companies still pull crap like this
@Donovan Davis Nope, drama and outrage are well deserved. They could have taken their time with this game like they did RE2 remake and people wouldn't have cared. We all waited years for the remake and it payed off. The only reason resistance comes with this game is because they KNOW this game is short as hell and has no replayability. Once you beat it there is no incentive to go back. I played the game and like you didn't watch any reviews until i was done. This game was a slog. The hospital area was the worst. The first half was promising, but it went downhill from there. I played it in hardcore, yet this game was so easy. Unless Nemesis was chasing me (very few occasions) i NEVER felt scared or any tension. I really wanted to love this game, but after a certain point you just have to come to the conclusion that "Damn..... This kinda blows".
No replayability? Bruh what? This game has more unlockables than RE2R and you're not forced to play the game on hardcore to unlock a good infinite weapon.
Finaly a real review that is not afraid of telling the truth, cutting content from the original is not a remake anymore so stop saying the original was the same because is not, the 6 is well deserved and I will be happy to pay $25 for it in 6 months.
RE2R was ok, but it had flaws. I'm not surprised they screwed up RE3R. RE1R did it best IMO. Oh well, on to FF7R next week!
I miss the camera angles in RE3 original
I’m kinda not wishing for a Code Veronica Remake anymore lol
Right? If they effed up 3 this bad, just leave CV alone. It's great as-is.
Seems like s fair score. Funny how people get their feelings hurt by truth and dislike something.
I agree 100% with this review. None of what made RE3 interesting is in this "homage"
dodge, Nemesis, gunpowder, gun upgrades are back but game is just way too short. had it been 2 hours longer it might be worth the purchase
@@ricemenarq6230 Rice MenaRQ I was referring to alternative paths, surprise encounters with Nemesis and additional bosses/endings. Plus the variation of the locations of several items and puzzles soluions (and puzzles in general) none of that is here.
Mr. X is much more scarier than nemesis in the remakes. Mr.X roams the rpd continuously hunting you and often catching you off guard most of your time in the police station, while nemesis only comes after you at certain point and stops when he mutates 🤷🏻♂️ yes he can run, jump and can pull you with his tentacles but he stops chasing you when you reach a certain place
I only see Mr.X like 2 times "dynamically" and other times he shows up on scripts. He's gone in the sewer and the lab.
This is what I call a honest review. Great work GameSpot!
It’s not a big surprise that this comes off as rushed given how soon after RE2 remake came out as well as the lack of detail on the zombies and gore. It’ll be worth $60 for big RE fans that always plan on playing multiple times doing different run styles but for everyone else this game will inevitably be $20 in 6 months or so.
Majority will still get this day one, including me.
Philly Jackson that’s how it usually works. Most sales happen in the first few weeks. Which is when most big fans will purchase the game anyway.
This has nothing to do with 2 Remake.
RE3 Remake was in development for three years prior to the initial announcement by a completely different team.
Gore is toned down could be a performance saving tech because Zombies count is much higher than RE2.
What makes you think you have six months or did you not notice the world collapsing.
And that’s exactly how the original one was as well. Only released a year after 2. But the fact that they cut a lot and couldn’t just be a faithful reimagining of the classic is saddening to me. We expect a lot because of how good RE2R was and they should of done the same to this one. Looks like capcom is going back to their old ways.
I'm so happy that I canceled my pre-order, I rather wait for cracked version and buy this later when its $10 or something
Same. Rather use my $60 to stock up on food.
I did feel like this project was moving too fast after RE2 remake was completed. Now I know why. They should have focused on the remake experience over the online experience. Resistance could have been released as a dlc down the road. It should really be called an "unmake" if they're chopping parts from the original experience. I am disappointed to hear how it finished but happy to know this a purchase I can make much later on when the price has dropped accordingly. Thanks GameSpot.
Well till the price drops a little I’m just gonna replay re2 remake a hundred more times
M. Sami your in the vast minority on that one, kinda shocked since most ppl would say 2 is damn near perfect (Imo, I’d agree but that’s just because I enjoyed it so much, I also thought its changes were interesting)
Elijah Kadel I’ll join on replaying RE2 😂
I'll play re 3 just for nemesis
RE3R doesn't make RE3 proper justice, but this review does make honest reviewers proper justice. You guys must have known you would be downvoted for this but you still chose to tell how it is. Got yourselves a sub.
It's a good game if you enjoyed RE2 but wait for a price drop to at least £30.00 my review
Yeah man, I think I'm gonna wait. I'm really bummed about it.
This is a know your game kind of purchase. I still play the original yearly, so in aspects that I wanna see if it'll replace it for me such as RE2 and RE1 remakes did. So far I'm really enjoying it. It's hard for RE3 to shine right now being surrounded by other, bigger games. Doom Eternal was amazing
people tend to forget RE3 was never as long as RE1 or 2. The campaign was always shorter. There were some "choices" moments in the original; however largely the game (and even its story) were far less in-depth than its predecessors.
RE3 came in 1999 on 600 mb CD drive
The point of a 2020 remake is to expand, not match or reduce the amount of content
That's honestly a bad argument to justify why the game removed most content and made it even shorter than the original. Yeah, the original story wasn't as fleshed out, but they should've elaborated on that in this remake, similarly to how the original remake did for the 1996 game, where they filled in a few plot holes and added Lisa Trevor's story. In this game, they took out the delta force plot, where they battled the tyrants in the factory. They could've elaborated more on that in this game but instead, it's nonexistent.
@@prince.fatalis Agreed. RE1 Remake was done right. It bettered the original. The other 2 didn't IMO. They all use the "But it's a reimagining" excuse. To me it's a cop out, because Capcom can't do remakes well anymore.
@@mro9466 I literally just played through both titles in the last week. They did a fine job both then and now. This is a subjective argument. You're going to disagree and that's fine. Don't buy it. You probably haven't even played it since you're "RUclips mad" based on other people's opinions. Go buy it in November, then reevaluate your opinion then.
@@prince.fatalis and you call my argument bad. You basically stated you want them to completely redesign, rewrite and develop entirely new sections the the game. Capcom was already in development of RE2 remake when they began development of RE3; starting 1 year later. Plus they were developing Resistance (which is a fine addition). Like I told the other person, this is a subjective argument and it's fine that you "dislike" what they did. I literally just played through both games in the past week and enjoyed both of them. It doesn't make it "wrong." I'm not going to have a continuous debate with people who cry about length when basically all the intentionally, needlessly backtracking has been removed from the game which shortens the experience.
I’m disappointed because it’s short 😒 I’ll wait for the 15$ or 20$ price range
All Resident evils are short
Marvin Branagh you can literally beat RE2R with both scenarios in 4 hours
Marvin Branagh it’s 2020 lol make it longer ! The devs should know this, so many better games with more hours of gameplay out there for 60$ or even cheaper
Dude it’s literally longer than re 2 ungrateful bastard
Top Spree I also waited to buy that on sale.. and I liked the Claire part also even though it was pretty much the same, it was like 10 hours for both for me which was good
What's pissing me off is that people keep forgetting that Nemesis only chased you in 2 areas in the original and game and was set to staged events thereafter also. It's shit like Nemesis not killing Brad that pisses me off. Also he shows up and dies so fast. The entire thing feels fast. Still not a 6 out of 10, more like a 7 but still, RE2 Remake was a 9/10 so...
the first 15 minutes of this remake was amazing tho. they should've included extended that to 25 minutes and maybe have Brad with you on the 2nd half. he could get killed in the car with Jill or sacrifice himself to stall Nemesis instead of the lame death he got here
definitely would prefer a bigger and more lengthy campaing with areas like the clocktower and the park than the freaking multiplayer mode which nobody asked for.
Finally. Someone’s saying it. So sick of the undue praise this game is getting. 2 remake was much better.
Why are people surprised by this? No really, it makes no sense. RE2 was a better game than RE3 and had two scenarios, therefore RE2 Remake is a better game than RE3 Remake.
@verdammt23 I agree with your second point, but don't agree that either RE3 are bad, they just aren't as good. It's like saying RE Remake is bad because it isn't as good as RE4, one of the greatest games ever made. And RE3 isn't bad, it's just too short.
So they have to re-upload the video due to the negative feedback from the original upload...?
Too bad for them.
I think the original review was still in progress with no mention “RE: Resistance”.
THANK YOU! Thankfully Someone had the balls to call out this rushed mess. Such a missed opportunity
Started res evil 7 tonight, loved it
same
Re7 is the reason I like resident evil
resi 7 is class. make sure to get the free dlc once ya finish it aswell
RE7 might just be the best in the series. Definitely up there.
@@The_RedVIII Re 7 is a good one but i like more Re 2
I could only afford RE3 or FF7 Remake this month, I'm so glad I saved my money for FF7 Remake. I had a feeling this game would be rushed. I'll wait for sale.
@Huxble 'infinity its not honestly.
Have any of you ever played this yet?
It is fabulous!
Short but so was the original!
I loved it, just as much as the original but for different reasons.
Just like 2 remake I didn't miss the things that were left out but focused on everything it does right
I just beat the game and although it was short I enjoyed it the whole way as a stand alone game imo this is still a great game
Yeah I've not played the original and I'm about to finish RE2 remake and I gotta say, watching these reviews, I think the game looks really good. I know there's negativity around it but since ive not played the originals, I don't really care and I'm not going to play the originals so I'll buy this
She said what i really felt for the game. abit more actiony. Good review
But 6 is abit too low not gonna lie
@@AintPopular 6 would be " above average" so I think it fits here
Wait till The Holiday Sale this Christmas 2020 and you can buy it on Xbox and Ps4 with all the content for $24.99 along with unlockables for and extra $3.99. Be a smart consumer.
No clock tower, no park/graveyard, no gas station, no sales office, no Raccoon Press office. No branching paths, no enhanced ammo. No idea what they were thinking.
I've played the first hour on Xbox One X. So far so good, but the performance is surprisingly weak in terms of FPS. Pity, because RE2 was silky smooth on the X.
ツ yea only the X struggles with this game
@@V-95K They're targeting true 4K, which is a mistake. I'd take 1080p for a smooth framerate.
Wtf why people dislike this? That’s a solid review
Solid review but 6/10 is far too harsh. It's an 8/10
Tsyuna Desu best case scenario this is a 6.5 this game failed
@Tsyuna Desu Over-reacting. Change your tampton.
@Tsyuna Desu You people really get carried away in your angry little frenzies don't you. As bad as RE6? Come the fuck on.
Good thing I did not pre order or planned to buy on launch, 60$ for a 6 hours campaign is not worth it. The original RE3 game is huge, I assumed it was going to be hard to put all of that on a 6 hours campaign. I'll get it when it's in discount or if there is any cheaper version that comes without that multiplayer
I would love love LOVE for someone new to RE play the remake versions first, then the originals and submit a review based on first impressions of both.
The original is still a way more better than the remake version
nope
@@zapataporsiempre yep
I am happy i have switched to GameSpot for reviews 7 years ago (from ign), honest and non bias, thank you
Since they anounced this game would have an online component it was clear that the main story mode would be subpar.
I played RE3 when it came out yesterday and finished it the same day. Good game but really wished they had included the clock tower and park and mercenary section the original had at the end.
I still quite enjoyed the game, will replay it for the challenges,
This is why I like gamespot. They are always 100% honest on the games they review no matter how much money the game developers give them. I don’t know why people are hating for honesty. And ign is like “the game is great in everyway possible I give Rambo the game 10/10”.
Game devs do not pay for scores. Idk why youd think that
Wall Chicken I’m getting the game. I’m just saying people are literally hating for honesty.
It's there opinion like everyone else. I enjoy the game.
Thank you for the review. I do not see myself paying 60 dollars for a 6 hour campaign, you saved me a lot of frustration.
No idea why viewers are downvoting. This is a pretty honest review.
Just so people are aware; IGN gave this a 9 Easy Allies a 8.5 and many others I've seen have given it a 7 or an 8. Its not bad, it's pretty good but doesnt live up to the standards that Capcom has been delivering recently. A 6 is a bit low though. That's like giving Alien Isolation a 4/10 (which I know IGN did but my point is to look at all the review scores and not just one).
I'd say don't look at any, play the demo and see for yourself, i've played the demo for 16 hrs total, and I've got to say... I love it! But that's just my opinion, get first hand experience with the game and form your own, its free!
Yeah, and those reviews don't even mention the length of the game which is the main complaint. That and the cut content (which is sorta the same thing). I think the people that are rating the game highly are casuals that are ok with playing 20 minutes of gameplay in one setting then going to drink a mimosa and watch This is Us.
@@AdoreYouInAshXI most RE games are short. RE2 remake had several campaigns but they were mostly the same. And the sphere hunter review actually pointed out a mistake gamespot and most other reviewers made with the timer.
m a resident evil fan from day 1 this is a cash in rushed out unpolished 5 hr single player I have every resident evil game I was given this free and cant recommend it
6/10 actually seems fair for this game. al the downvoters clearly haven't played it yet.
I hate. 6 makes it unplayable. Its far from that
Seeing how similar it is to the RE2 remake and the added 4v1 game included that's not a fair score at all. People have a hard on for hating everything these days so I won't even bother looking at the comments. I can tell from the gameplay footage that I'll enjoy this just as much as the last one. Can't wait for the code Veronica remake
How do you explain the sheer amount of cut content from the original game than?
It is a fair score especially since they cut half of the goos content from the game.
Not sure how a remake can have anything cut. This isn't a remaster. A 6 hour campaign isn't that bad. People paid full price for dead by daylight and Friday the 13th with no single player campaign at all
I love it and i'd give it a 9
Sheep
Honestly, this should have been a DLC for RE2R. Capcom wanted to go ahead and make this a separate game and tack on the multiplayer so they can ship it for $60. The multiplayer was fun but Capcom kinda dropped the ball on this..
The original was action based and survival horror too. Those explosive tanks were in the original and the dodging mechanic. This is exactly like the original minus the clock tower, graveyard, and the zoo
The like to dislike ratio is ridiculous. I normally don’t like gamespot but this review is very agreeable.
@4:10 so he is like he was in the original game?
Not at all an i beat the campaign twice an beat the original on a emulator
@@godssalvation87 I recall him being quite persistent in the early game in the original, he takes a large breaks during the hospital, park and dead factory parts of the game.
So lines up with what she states "only actively hunts you during the opening section in down town Raccoon City".
Either way he is close enough to the original that it falls into a nitpicking complaint imo. I think they did not re-work him to be in constant pursuit like Tyrant in RE2R because since he has a much larger move set he would be harder to balance.
@@joshp9947 Just to be clear: Nemesis is meant to be unfair. The original one was a walking tank who, opposite to OG Mr. X, could run faster than you, could follow you through the map, packed a punch with two-hit kills and could spawn at different locations between playthroughs.
I still play the original to this date, and it's extremely difficult to avoid damage while fighting him. He can drain your resources rapidly and every encounter has you jumping from one save room to the other planning a strategy to either avoid him or fight back.
OG Nemesis was scripted, I won't deny that, but at the time developers couldn't do what modern technology can nowdays. They masked the scripts by making Nemesis spawn in different locations, and that's more or less what RE2 masterfully did with Mr. X.
I can't believe what I'm about to say, but Remake 2 Mr. X is the closest Capcom will ever get to revamping Nemesis to what he was intended to be in RE3 remake.
@@sean-thiago1986i think many complained about Mr X
@@serenseitcean2051 Meh...complaining about Mr. X in RE2 is like complaining about the Alien in Alien: Isolation.
He's thrown into the R.P.D. once you have explored most of it and his sole purpose is to test your skills once you've unlocked all weapons at your disposal. He was meant to pressure the players and to change their playstyle.
I guess the ones who complained are casuals or newbies.
Yup we all knew it
Think Resident Evil fans would have preferred the memorable sections of the original game that are missing rather than the multiplayer mode.
the best review i saw for this game from any major gaming outlet. this one earns you guys a ton of credibility in my book. i guess you learned some lessons after the kane and lynch/ Jeff Gerstmann debacle

And please don't come up with some sort of " Supplies for quarantine".
Please don't let her review turn you off it's amazing ....this his her opinion and you won't get the same experience she did res 3 is amazing it does lack in the sense of costumes and gear and guns but the story was amazing
Its heart breaking to see such a low score ...guess I'll wait till it goes on sale
I have to agree with this review. A lot of things she said were the exact things I said to myself after completing the story yesterday. As a fan since the very beginning, I feel a tad robbed. I enjoyed myself whilst playing, but somethings missing. I couldn't care less about Resistance. Gave it a go, not my thing at all!
RE2 remake took 4 years from announcement to release. This one released 12 months later.
Felt like they pooped it really quick. I'm disappointed they removed all the choices you make in RE3 and the alternate endings.
GameSpot always seems to have the most accurate reviews. A supposed triple A game that is only 6 hours long and costs 60 dollars shouldn't get all the 9's that it's getting from other outlets. Besides that, the Nemesis encounters don't look fun at all, just annoying. I'm gonna pass for now.
How do you know it's accurate did you get the game early too?!
@@carnivoresMime That's why I said "seems to", judging by all I've seen and heard so far, smartass.
@@carnivoresMime go watch a noob playthrough of the game. as bad as he is, he finished the game in 4 hours. 6 hours is generous.
Just curious as to why there was cut content from the original to the remake.
No ada escape campaign.
No leaderboards.
No mercenaries.
Capcom dropped the ball here
I love the original RE3...but I will wait on this until it's on sale. 6 hour game for $60 ...nah.
6 hours is being generous. Most people are saying it's 4 hours on a the first playthrough and speedruns can be done in 1.5 hours.
AdoreYouInAshXI a lot of reviewers (and me) got 6 hrs on the first play through. I died a lot and got lost and still got 6 hrs. A second play through would be 4 hrs or less.
I’ll wait for a sale. But still buying this for sure just cause I’m such a fan 😅
same tho, seeing how short the campaign is, its not worth $60 in my book
Resident Evil: Resistance is so well develpoed that it makes you wanna risk yourself to play in the dark
If they wanted to cut out clock tower, maybe because it was used and in other re games, they could make new ones, like a museum, or a skyscraper, and something like that. But no, they made a great looking city to roam with no substance.
My personal opinion is that this should be a DLC of 30 dollars 7 of 10
