I don’t know who he is as I’m a tekken player but I saw the street fighter portion and was definitely happy for him from what I’m reading although I was wishing the rashid won just from liking his character and gameplay.
This was definitely, by FAR, one of the GREATEST EVO tournaments all around. I mean we're talking about close games even in the earl rounds and some upsets as always.
I really hope Mortal Kombat 1 will improve at its 2nd year. I love this game but I see why so many players criticize it. Hope the developers will learn from their mistakes.
I love SF, and normally I'd agree with the sentiment, but in this situation, the energy in the arena during Punk's set was dialed to 11, you could feel the tension and anxiety everywhere. When he finally, narrowly won, the overwhelming exhaustion and relief was palpable. Take into account Punk's history of getting soooo close to the finish line, and you end up with a moment of overwhelming emotion. The tears rolled freely, and not a person in that arena didn't understand why. Punk earned that, was clearly incredibly moved by both his achievement and the love of the crowd, and the whole thing was amazing.
Arslan ash the greatest of all time has made Pakistan proud. Came through all the odds and with no privileges didn't even have a console at home in the early stages!

This year has been so rough to watch as a fan of Punk. So many resets close finals at so many tournaments. So I went crazy when this happened

He actually wins ALOT but people always like to being up his losses. This is his first evo win but he wins tournaments all the time.
