I feel like Ken winning the first Sf6 EVO just makes perfect sense. Especially seeing as he started off top 6 by defeating JP (on the Nayshall stage mind you) and then finished it by defeating Luke. Major respect to Both Angrybird and Mena for giving us the best grand finals that I can remember and reminding us how amazing the FGC can be.
Huh I guess that would make sense canon wise tho I would expect a rematch between them would have Luke come out the victor this time. Still these were amazing sets and Menard & Angrybird went all out in this grand finals.
Aah, You mean that religion where women must cover their hair because men are jealous and they don't want other men to look at their women, not even their hair
I can't imagine someone doing that, that would be a very big lack of sportsmanship and so unfair. EVO organization should pause the match when this stuff happens. Fair play to AngryBird nonetheless.
My takeaway from this entire tournament: Street Fighter is back. SF6’s future looks incredibly bright and we have a legendary run for this game in store. Bravo to all competitors.
Street Fighter never left ... Pandemic put the entire FGC on hold, but Evo 2022 was already a great comeback for all titles. Evo 2023 is just a confirmation that the community is alive and doing well.
@@popop4044 SF4 was like peak SF in terms of the game and scene imo. 5 had such a rough and bumpy ride. The game itself and the scene with the coming of the FGV into “esports”. Took a while but SF5 got to a place where it was a good eventually but underwhelming coming off of the titan that was SF4. SF6 right out of the gate imo is arguably as good and as hype as SF4. And the game just came out. It’s on rocket fuel and headed to the moon imo is all I mean. There’s a lot to be excited for. This is a game that is modern yet takes you back to the old days imo. @@RedShogun13 Yeah, CAPCOM make sure to not repeat the same mistakes they did with SFV launch. And also agree that SFV had difficult time : e-sport adjustments, and most importantly, covid-19. But still, SFV allow the FGC to grow : better international accessibility and new strong players (many we are seeing in this year Evo). SFV Evo 2022 top 8 was definitly hype (the grand final was the most popular match of the entire tournament). You could feel that the crowd was on fire, not only because it was finally FGC comeback after pandemic, but also because of SFV matches quality. At the end of the day, I think there were only two flaws left for SFV : netcode and balance. Gameplay wise, I like the more "brut" and less technical approach of SFV. It allow me to focus way more on what my opponent is doing, instead of what his character or my character can do. SF6 is almost the perfect combinaison of this SFV easy to play side, with just enough technical aspects from previous titles. Basically, a game with lot of options, but each of them isn't difficult to use. Of course, we are still in the honeymoon phase, but I hope that Capcom will support SF6 as much as they did with SFV.
Both of them couldn't make into top 8 at EVO for many times , but right now they could make through the Grand Final together make me think that they could deserve for continuous practicing until the most suitable time

I am not religious at all but it was amazing to see Angry bird praying and being so grateful for everything that got him to that point. Just like how Mena always thanks his God after a victory. The passion, friendship, and mutual respect they both showed transcended their religions, cultures, and any other differences. That has always been the beauty of sports and now eSports. Amazing Evo!
I think so too because I do not believe in any religion but if they feel their faith helps them and it doesn't hurt anyone or they don't impose it on anyone then more power to them

@@last7509bro its a fighting game with multiple characters in it theres nothing wrong with switching characters 💀 its a part of the game that all players are prepared for and know can happen
@dean988 True but Mena was exploiting it, using it as a tactic to confuse his opponent. I've never seen rapid swapping like this in the professional leagues till now & I started watching tournaments in the SF4 era.

Because of money of course. More time for more ad breaks. It sucks. Don't know why they had to mess with the tradition of having a top 8 when its always been that way until this year.

Major respect to Both Angrybird and Mena for giving us the best grand finals that I can remember and reminding us how amazing the FGC can be.

Grande MENA, nadie puede decir que no eres un jugador que brinda peleas espectaculares! Felicidades a ambos!
They’ve outdone themselves with this.

Of course, we are still in the honeymoon phase, but I hope that Capcom will support SF6 as much as they did with SFV.

the love at the end made me form enough eye liquid to form a single tear in my right eye. that was beautiful.
AngryBird totally deserves to be the EVO champion. Me being Dominican I wanted to see MenaRD win again, but I saw how emotional AngryBird felt which was awesome. And less take into account that he thanked Allah for his victory which is the most important of all things on the entire planet. ✌& ❤to all and to the Street Fighter community.✊💪
The fact that playing fighting games was considered a niche hobby, to now a worldwide phenomenon thanks to events like this, I cant help but to smile at this.
FIRE top 6 💯 Absolutely beautiful gameplay from everyone ‼️
This was a great watch for me even as someone who doesn't play SF6 yet.
I commend AngryBird but MenaRD is scary. How quickly he is to adapt to situations and swap characters like that and keep playing on that level. It's just talent really
9:38 the youre going to memphis from the crowd was amazing honestly, this final set was amazing what with the rerun + turnarounds
Sf6 came in STRONG
アングリーのケン愛が画面から伝わってきた
The sportsmanship!!! Love to see it
Amazing set! Congratulations to Angry Bird! SF6 is 🔥
The stylised gameplay of SF6 is just a whole ass vibe to watch competetively. So good.
14:20 I gotta give credit to Angry Bird for not taking that win with Mena's controller disconnected. He still got the dub, congratulations to him.
I've never been so entertained with a fighting game until this. Awesome match! 👍👏👏👏
Could have gone either way. Amazing reset, great games and play from both guys. Absolutely amazing.
wow, the emotion at the end; clap clap clap
Kudos to Angrybird on his Evo championship!
Bro I actually shed a tear.. was having trouble with the game.. I PLAY RYU so I feel absolutely accomplished after getting any win I play. I have never felt this way about any other fighting game character..
I have lots of respect for Angry bird & now I have much respect to MENA too because I didn’t like him I thought he was just too good & he was a cocky guy but dude is actually pretty chill man..
I will never let my ego get in the way.. I am now a Platinum Ryu & by GOD I KNOW I WORK HARD & train to learn from my mistakes.. Peace & Love to the FGC 🙏
angrybird becoming the 2023 world champion of sf6 made me more prideful about being arab............especially when im just trying 2 get into fighting games it really inspired me
Best possible finals. These two were playing out of their minds, legendary!
Angrybird lost to his own brother at Kumite who then went on to win the tournament. Now, he has surpassed his brother and won Evo. All is right in the world.
His brother?
@@bulthaosen1169 im not sure if they are actually brothers but i believe hes talkin about big bird
@@ysmg1061 Hey we are all brothers and sisters of the fgc. Yes he lost against Big Bird in his first match at Red Bull Kumite. It was more hype than the grand finals in my opinion
@@trancefighterthat was definitely match of the tournament
What a champion. Love to see AngryBird win. Respect to both these guys
I love the comradary from Mena at the end! Nice one.
Ok listen everyone is gonna look at grand finals the most but the WHOLE top 6 was INSANE. Nailbiter after nailbiter, reset after reset, it was hype the whole way through. Some of the best fgc I've ever seen.
Great win for Angrybird. Love his humble emotions !
I'm glad that I was able to witness the grand finals. It was so good every single match.
the sportsmanship man, love to see it
Great set from both players! Kudos to Mena for showing good sportsmanship and congratulating AB after the match 🎊 👏🏻
It's really nice knowing that top players also jump back onto fireballs sometimes
And dropping finishers they got perfectly 20 times in practice mode 😂
😂
definitely rooted for mena but incredibly happy for angrybird for winning his first evo
even though it’s been two months, sf6 is incredibly entertaining and hype to watch
Wow class from both players, what a game 👏👏👏👏👏
