      @@UCKY5very good point. I actually figured this out when I I wanted to render the dragon on the die after it was finished. I had to split the UV map so I could plop it in there. I did not think about splitting before hand though. Great tip! Sorry for interrupting your view.

    The artistic expression in these video's isn't just represented by the beautiful D20's you produce, but your camera work, music choice, editing, cinematography is all on point. I don't know anything about making videos, cutting gems, and i'll probably never use a D20 in my life, but i can appreciate when any of those things are done well and you sir are a prime example.     I used to collect any pretty rocks I found on the ground and just imagine them as magical sources of power. Seeing you turn such unique pieces of stone into these beautiful dice is reawakening my love of shiny pebbles!

    It looks super cool! If you wanted the numbers to be a bit more readable you just need a slightly more contrasting color, but I love the way the copper and orange went together!

      I think going with an existing flame font might help too. fantasy fonts are usually pretty bad, so it might take a while to find a decent one, but since you'd only need numbers, the improper spacing of characters that is so common in amateur fonts wouldn't be as much of an issue.
      Though I have to admit, the numbers look better on the actual rock than I'd have expected. The material imperfections from the engraving process make for an organic feel that mitigates the faults of the design.

    That is amazingly beautiful! I didn't think the dragon would look that good on the die, but it really works. I know it's an art piece, but it would be fun to see a DM pull that out when a party encounters a dragon. It has a real intimidation factor to it, especially at that size.

    Id love to see a video where you make one out of bismuth and clear resin. Yeah, 2 different materials, but itd be awesome to see the geometry of the bismuth through the resin.

    Do you ever make full-sets? Would love to see what the process looks like for other size die-what challenges each poses, which one's easiest, and how long the whole process takes.

      I’m not sure what is easiest. They all have challenges.
      D12 does not have meet points. So it’s hard to get all the faces even
      D10 is pretty easy
      D8 makes me pull out the table adapter for a very small facet to save the fingers from the sharp corner
      D6 is easy shape wise but has a really big faces.
      D4 maybe this is easiest. But I make them pretty complicated

      yes. I have cut only a few d12s and I think only one rhombic. But it does have meet points.

      Yeah painting was a bit hectic on this one. I tried something more complicated first but it did not work.

    Holy shit! I'm sitting here with my jaw dropped just flabbergasted at the beauty of that die. That's the most unique and stunning die I have ever seen. I'd easily shell out $80 - $100 USD for that die alone. As a dice hoarder, it would be the Arkenstone of my entire collection. I can't wait to see more! Thank you!

      clearly you've not seen the actual prices of these things. You're missing at least a 0 at the end... (they start at 1200 USD for the basic ones). Not saying they're not worth that, because they are absolutely stunning and even though these videos are fairly short, you can tell there are MANY MANY hours of grinding and polishing involved...

    7:30 "The best way to get experience is to try really hard things like this." Yes! So much yes! It always pains me when people say they're not "good enough" or "too much of a beginner" to try . Your only chance to get better at is to actually try it! In my case it's mostly about knitting/sewing, but it really applies to anything.

    The dragon engraving in the dice looks nice. Have you tried making citrine, blue sapphire, jade , or obsidian D20? I'm sure they would also look nice with different elemental dragon designs on them
