They announced like 2 weeks ago that they are printing a new set of all of these books as its been 10 years since they were originally conceived... So either "damn, I have to do this again?!" or "Yay, I get to do this again!" OR "thank god, now I can let them touch these with their grubby hands instead of MY PRECIOUS!"
She can easily remove the old book stock and replace it with the new. That's the fun about real bookbinding is the cover can be transferred over, which was the most difficult piece to do!
Love this! On the topic of campaigns, I went the extra mile with a character for a campaign that unfortunately didn’t do well when Covid hit the US. I was a Kenku (and the rules for playing at the time were still that it had to mimic voices and sounds and not speak on their own.) I got permission to record our sessions and picked and chose lines from the other characters to say, and I had a soundboard as well. It was a lot of work and I don’t regret it, but the campaign only lasted a few months and it made me really sad.

Probably for the best that you did that. D&D books are notorious for not-so-stellar binding. I've only opened up one of my campaign books, like, twice and already, pages are starting to shimmy out of their glue.

You should have added a wash to the gold dragon logo to give it more depth and shadow effects (since it is 3d) and also make it look more rustic and old.
I just ran across this video and it's awesome. I've only bound together one hardcover book in my life and that was over 30 years ago. Your design looks great and the 3D touches makes me want to buy a 3D printer now. 🙂 Out of curiosity, how much did the raw material cost, not counting the 3 D&D books you used? Oh, and if you use blue painters tape next time it may prevent tearing of the cover finish.
Heyo! So I'm not sure if you'll see this comment but I was wondering if you knew about electroplating? I absolutely love the results of 3D prints that have gone through electroplating as it really gives a shiny metallic look, and sometimes I prefer the extra effort of that to some of the metallic paint options. Seriously changed my view of prop creation. I thought it might be something you'd be interested in for future projects!
I honestly thought Martina from nerd forge had uploaded but seeing your project was such an incredibly delightful surprise! You have such a fun vibe and from one graphic designer to another I admire your skills in Illustrator because my Photoshop aged brain could never pick it up. From design to execution you did an impressive job with editing that felt well paced. Instant sub, you’re killing it ❤
It looks good, would definitely be a nice sight at the table! The sad part? I can guarantee your binding is 100 times better than what ever shipped with those books, lol. I got mine when the first came out, and with-in a day or two they started falling apart.
I saw the holographic and I was like, "Are my books like that? Oh well." Very nice job. It was an exhilarating emotional rollercoaster watching books cut and put back together.

Ahh the artificer multi classing into wizard love it
Yes! I've been wanting to dissect and rebind all the core books together. This is dope.
I have the same special edition books and I would never tear them apart but you did so well on your ULTRAMASTERBOOK! Absolutely love the work! Greetings from Germany. :)
I would PAY to have a generic brown leather bound trio of these guys put together for my dnd adventures
2:00 legit i was gunna comment that i saw someone else do it too n i was interested in seeing u do it differently. N then you referenced him xD
Im still interested in the finished product :3
I love it! And I appreciate that this wasn’t 4 vids xD (i love the intricate process but i needed a short vid today lol)
PSA: USE A FULL RESPIRATOR AND GOGGLES WHEN SANDING UV CURED PRINTS.
Amazing video!
You should have added a wash to the gold dragon logo to give it more depth and shadow effects (since it is 3d) and also make it look more rustic and old.
Wow this turned out incredible! You did awesome. Makes me want to try!
Good to see a different take on this from four keys book arts!
Book binding question. How much bigger would you make the cover compared to the text block?
I love Four Keys Book Arts! I'm so glad you followed his instructions!
I LOVE GIRLS WHO DONT DND!!!!! AMAZING PODCAST!! THE GIRLS ARE HILARIOUS AND COREY HAS AMAZING WRITING AND STORYTELLING SKILLS
Jess you're amazing. No other words.
Just stumbled upon your channel through this video and that's gonna be one sub from me! Gorgeous work. :3
My goodness I would be so terrified to do this bc of how expensive but now I’m like :0 I NEED TO TRY THIS
You should try a fdm printer I think you would like it it prints a lot faster there is more post processing but they print prototypes quickly
You did a beautiful job. Well done.
You've inspired me. I am going to try this with my DND books. Pray for me.
I saw the holographic and I was like, "Are my books like that? Oh well."
Very nice job. It was an exhilarating emotional rollercoaster watching books cut and put back together.
Amazing work!
This… is… amazing… ❤ and thank you for the podcast recommandation !
