Good old Kansas sunshine gold Wonder if I'm ever gonna get so old That I don't wanna fight Sleep peaceful through the night Never care if it's ever right Oh I really do believe it's gonna be okay I really do believe it's gonna be okay Good old Sunday morning sky Gotta get it together for another try Check the glass to see what I wanna be Can I ever set it free Oh I really do believe it's gonna be okay I really do believe it's gonna be okay "That is why, my lady" said the yogi in the road "The rule is so almighty and what the law forbode Made the child into this thing that cannot act and barely sing" It's a good old dream and I want some more What am I makin' all this music for Why do I trip alone tryin' to get back home Cold, soaked to the bone Oh I really do believe it's gonna be okay I really do believe it's gonna be okay "That is why, my lady" said the yogi in the shade "Time let shine so brightly and what the law has made Turned the boy into this thing that cannot act and barely sing" "That is why, my lady" said the yogi in the bus "The ropes are tied so tightly and what the law made us Made the man into this thing that cannot act and barely sing That cannot act and barely sing"
Historian love your channell and jim ... he is is up there with billy joel when it comes to writing hard to pick a favorite between them . thanks for this song love it!
This is definitely Rory Dodd. If you think it sounds like Jim on "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through" or "Lost Boys and Golden Girls", it's because Rory sang those songs. ;)
Thanks Jim and I do also believe it's going to be ok Valerie's not going to be doing the midnight shift because of shift rotation every so anyway I'm offa n can't believe you didn't have even more success as a singer because I think you're awesome and the other side of you does a Billy-ant job.. ELse New York may well sleep! lol
Brilliant piano player & song writer. jim is awesome combine him with Billy Joel and wow! Give Boublil & shonberg a run for their money. Stick dolly parton with them and that would top even Abba as a writing team.
"They say there's a Heaven for those who will wait Some say it's better, but I say it ain't I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints The sinners are much more fun" - Billy Joel, "Only the Good Die Young"; Album: "The Stranger" (1977) "It ain't right it ain't fair Castles fall in the sand, and we fade in the air But the good boys go to Heaven And the bad boys go everywhere!" - Jim Steinman, "Good Girls Go to Heaven (Bad Girls Go Everywhere)"; Album: "Pandora's Box: Original Sin" (1989)
Oh - and is "(It Hurts) Only When I Feel" also gonna also contain parts of "If It Ain't Broke (Break It)" (as it did in Meat's "Hair of the Dog" tour), or is it an entirely new production?
The song definitely would not have fit the album, both as a song and physically as time. Steinman didn't even have the space on the record for a monologue he wished was on it, which would have fit the theme better than this country tune. P.S.- Fantastic song though.
Oh. Sorry to hear that! Well, thanks for letting us know. Cool that "Train of Love" is making an appearance, though, since that's another that I replay on RUclips all the time. :-)
+King Rick It actually is Jim Steinman doing the vocals, you are correct it isn't Rory Dodd. Though he did do a few demos with Dodd, and bette midler he did most of the ones for Kid Champion himself he said in his Vh1 interview from like 20 years ago.
There's no way this is Rory. I think this is the guy who sings on the for crying out loud demos if you cared to listen to those as well. Those prove it's NOT Rory. P.S.- Rory Dodd is arguably the most underrated singer of the 70s and 80s. God speed.
@@marypowell606 It's not Jim. I don't thinik we are ever going to find out who it is...he was an excellent performer who was hired for this particular demo.
Rest in peace, wonderful Jimmy Steinman. You are so missed by many people. The world of music lost someone very very special
He was so underrated as a singer.
Good old Kansas sunshine gold
Wonder if I'm ever gonna get so old
That I don't wanna fight
Sleep peaceful through the night
Never care if it's ever right
Oh I really do believe it's gonna be okay
I really do believe it's gonna be okay
Good old Sunday morning sky
Gotta get it together for another try
Check the glass to see what I wanna be
Can I ever set it free
Oh I really do believe it's gonna be okay
I really do believe it's gonna be okay
"That is why, my lady" said the yogi in the road
"The rule is so almighty and what the law forbode
Made the child into this thing that cannot act and barely sing"
It's a good old dream and I want some more
What am I makin' all this music for
Why do I trip alone tryin' to get back home
Cold, soaked to the bone
Oh I really do believe it's gonna be okay
I really do believe it's gonna be okay
"That is why, my lady" said the yogi in the shade
"Time let shine so brightly and what the law has made
Turned the boy into this thing that cannot act and barely sing"
"That is why, my lady" said the yogi in the bus
"The ropes are tied so tightly and what the law made us
Made the man into this thing that cannot act and barely sing
That cannot act and barely sing"
God bless you, Jim.
To be honest, I think that it actually is Jim Steinman singing in this song. It sounds like him almost 100 %.
Great song for sure
Just lost ya yesterday
Rest In Peace
@rdragon88 Couldn't agree more, He is one of the best Piano players I have ever heard
Historian love your channell and jim ... he is is up there with billy joel when it comes to writing hard to pick a favorite between them
. thanks for this song love it!
There *are* some similarities! (See my posting just below the next commentator). 😉
sounds perfect!
I miss him
That voice sounds like Steinman himself.
This is Kim Milford singing, isn't it? RIP Jim Steinman. All of your work is amazing.
not Kim.
@@spacepunk2001 Hm, okay ... I thought it sounded a lot like "Song of the golden egg", but thank you for the clarification :)
rory dodd maybe?
Nah, it's Jim on there.
yeah this is Steinman singing... 100%
that's why my lady- said the yogi on the road !
This is definitely Rory Dodd. If you think it sounds like Jim on "Rock and Roll Dreams Come Through" or "Lost Boys and Golden Girls", it's because Rory sang those songs. ;)
Sounds more like Steinman to me, go listen to Dance in my Pants from the same album. Rory Dodd has a more refined voice
Sounds like Jim. Rory is a great singer. His voice is mellow and Jim’s has rock and roll roughness.
Thanks Jim and I do also believe it's going to be ok Valerie's not going to be doing the midnight shift because of shift rotation every so anyway I'm offa n can't believe you didn't have even more success as a singer because I think you're awesome and the other side of you does a Billy-ant job.. Meat would be great covering "If I Only Had the Words to Tell You" from "Piano Man." :-)
"They say there's a Heaven for those who will wait
Some say it's better, but I say it ain't
I'd rather laugh with the sinners than cry with the saints
The sinners are much more fun"
- Billy Joel, "Only the Good Die Young"; Album: "The Stranger" (1977)
"It ain't right it ain't fair
Castles fall in the sand, and we fade in the air
But the good boys go to Heaven
And the bad boys go everywhere!"
- Jim Steinman, "Good Girls Go to Heaven (Bad Girls Go Everywhere)"; Album: "Pandora's Box: Original Sin" (1989)

Great song. Why wasn´t it on Bat I?
The song definitely would not have fit the album, both as a song and physically as time. Steinman didn't even have the space on the record for a monologue he wished was on it, which would have fit the theme better than this country tune. P.S.- Fantastic song though.
Does this appear on the upcoming "Braver than We Are" album?!?
No
Oh. Sorry to hear that! Well, thanks for letting us know. Cool that "Train of Love" is making an appearance, though, since that's another that I replay on RUclips all the time. :-)
Anyone know who is singing? I don't think it's Rory Dodd

Sounds like Rory Dodd. Definitely isn't Steinman.
Doesn't sound like either of them to me. Isn't it more likely to be someone from the cast of Kid Champion?
This sounds to to me like Steinman before 1981, possibly early 70s
that is definitely Jim doing his own vocals here
Not Jim. Not Rory.
@Gracie's Art Live Streams! Kim had a distinctive very wide vibrato. This is not him.
rory dodd vocals
