Two is a good one. Shame the changes don't seem to effect the arrange view though. I wish that you could add Input FX parameters to the mcp/tcp as well. Tip No5 ... this is also a great way of viewing the waveform of an overall mix. Create a track at the top, make it a parent folder of everything, and you can quickly see the waveform of your song/mix without having to render anything. Good way for quickly seeing dynamics and peaks etc.
Additional power tip to expand on your #3: Some VST plugins, particularly instruments, have a RIDICULOUS number of automatable parameters, which aren't always usefully named. So what can we do to sort thru those confusing lists of parameters? Easy. Set the track containing the VST or VSTi to "Touch" mode for recording. The track does not even have to be Record Armed. THEN, you just have to open up the interface for your VST/VSTi and simply touch the controls you want to automate. Reaper will automagically add new automation tracks for each and every control you touch. This can also be accessed via the action "Show/Hide Track Envelope For Last Touched FX Parameter" without the need to have the track set to "Touch" or "Write" mode. Additionally, Reaper has an action that is "Show/Hide Track Control For Last Touched FX Parameter" ... this one will do as your tip did, showing the control you touched as a control knob on the track panel itself. But you don't need to dig thru the parameter list to find your control. Simply touch it in the VST interface. I have added buttons for each of these to my custom menu. Very useful when a VST has a huge number of confusingly named controls.
Another great tutorial I’m struggling to get a good headphone sound whilst recording - if I activate “monitor” whilst recording I get latency or an echo in the ear phones - if I deselect “monitor recording “ my volume drops to an insufficient level I’m recording a valve amp into a two notes torpedo captor into a laptop loaded with reaper Any ideas ?
My biggest issue with reaper is editing...Like in Harrison mixbus i can quickly select a section and move it and the exsisting waveform is visible making splicing easy...anyway to do this in reaper? Thx!
Under "File" search down for "Clean current project directory" and click on that, there you will find list of unused tracks and you need to select them and remove them with "remove selected files" button. Simple as that :)
Brilliant, thanks so much. Really useful. Who on earth gave you a thumbs down? I despair sometimes.....!
Thanks for the ''hide empty midi lanes'' tip, I had no idea it could be done!
No problem at all :)
This is the best free software Ive seen. Respect.

This works for the most part, but for some reason, it wouldn't work for the Kontakt library Blakus Cello by Embertone.

What Reaper skin was that? Looks nice!
click right mouse on plugin name in browser and select "run as embed" so your 32-bit plugins will open inside 64-bit plugin window and vice versa
That was excellent. Thank you.

Your screen capture is still in mono, making the part about splitting/joining stereo tracks kinda silly...:-D

Or use Panipulator (spelling?) and render to a new track. A bit faster but does the same thing I believe.
