This literally happened yesterday. No vomiting, but he wasn’t stealing his sister’s food, so away we went. Gabapentin, two hours in the car, NOTHING wrong with him and hissing like a kettle even WITH the Gabapentin. Also, he checked out everything in the exam room when the tech left . I think we just like being their servants.
Our last cat would do his own little fasts periodically. It was weird, but after a while it really seemed like he knew what he was doing, so we let him. He was also the only cat /dog we ever had who would never over eat, not even treats, ever. When he was done he was done. If you you hand fed him he'd eat a little more cause that made it special I guess, lol, but then he wouldn't have it. At least we never had to worry about him getting fat. Although I'm not positive that he didn't have another family or two on the side. 😂 Um hmm. Such a silly little goose (or gooseball, as I'd sometimes call him. Combo of goofball & silly goose.) Since he came to me on his own at only six months and it was clear he'd probably had a child person, mom and I just assumed he visited them. I did try to find out where & who he came from when he did, but I couldn't and he insisted we were his. He was scared of anyone other than me & mom (although eventually he "allowed" my brother to feed him 😂) cause the first person he met after us was the vet who poked, jabbed, popped him pills, stuck with needles, shaved his butt - to find out if "she" was getting spayed or neutured, it was the latter, our little girl was a boy! lol - & of course, snipped & removed his you know whats. So he was suspicious of everyone else (not that I blame him but lol). So no idea if he actually visited his former family. Wish we could've had a camera on him. I'll stop yakking now lol. Just miss my baby kitty so much! I miss them all but this is the first time we didn't have any dogs or cats at all. It's weird. A stray cat stalked me in the garden a few weeks ago but haven't seen it since. I think it's one our cat use to stalk and it just came by to see what happened to him.
Saw this in our clinic once! The cat was urinating on the owner's new duvet. Everything was clear on labwork. The other brought the old duvet back out and the cat was back to normal.

See, my cat just keeps telling me she has a tummy ache, so we give her a saline drip. Then she spends the rest of the day in sack mode, refusing to leave my arms. They’re weird af, man

Cookie the calico with self-made ulcers on her feet. 2nd trip, irritated by having to wear an e-collar and take nasty meds . Vet gave her a shot to make up for meds. Vet: You sure are a chubby thing. (Tech agrees) Cookie: Disgusted side-eye to both “You don’t call a lady fat! I’m not a thing! I’m a Queen.” Vet to Tech: (Laughing) Did you see that look she gave me! (The side-eye hardens, so they put her back in the box.)
They enjoy vomiting on any thing new trust me having cats since 1980 means I was 3 years old they love vomiting on new carpet new clothes new chair etc
Actually, cats tend to throw up where they feel most comfortable. They feel sick, and they go to their favorite spot/object to comfort themselves. He's throwing up on the throw rug because he likes it, not because he hates it. If he hated it, he would avoid it.
A kitty threw up on a the dye shirt I made at my dorm room that had an image of our university mascot herkey the Hornet. She must have not like that is was just an image of a bug and decided to express her opinions of dislike in her own way. I would have like a speech made by Hitler then seeing what Panda the cat had just eaten.
Cats do legit get stressed out if they don't like something new.

Putting something in a cat's sun spot is justification for homicide. Or, at least, a silent glare of contempt.
But a throw rug helps make it comfier for Felix.
Unfortunately he thinks it's the throw up rug instead. 😉
