  • In this video I am out testing new Race Tech fork springs in the GPX TSE 300L 2 stroke Dirt Bike. I installed heavier fork springs hopefully to improve the front end feel. I have always thought suspension is way more important than motor mods for most average riders.

    Hey Dave great video and on board riding 👍 really enjoying what you share with us here ! We are close in age- i am 55 and run vet b class on my 23 KTM sx 250 smoker and my 21 factory edition 450 - my new ride for 24 is a beta 300 rx should be here next week 😀 cant wait - my question 4 you is which bike do you like better and why between your kayo 250 and your gpx ? P.s. get a guide on your frt brk hose 👍

      The GPX by far...it's lighter and has Much more power...even though my lap times would be similar...I don't feel as wiped out riding the GPX.

    I love these GPX bikes. My only issue in pulling the trigger on one is this: Will I be able to get parts in 8-10 years if I buy a 2024 GPX FSE250e (or another GPX)? I ask this because they’ve sold bikes that they no longer sell anymore, even just a few years ago (i.e., the FSE250R with the NC250 engine). Can folks get parts for those bikes anymore now that they are discontinued? With Japanese bikes, I can still buy OEM parts for my 1997 Honda Rebel 250 and even my 1986 Yamaha BW200. I love these high-end Chinabikes as they are on part with Japanese bikes (or better!), but parts availability is a concern for me. Great video!

      Yeah, I just don't gave a great answer for that...in general I would say because some of these engines are used all over the world you could find parts online...I know GPX thinks about and has meetings on the subject and does everything they can to support their customers. The TSE300 will have long term support and parts cross reference through KTM

      One bolt under the back fender...then pull back on seat.

    Your brake cable is way out.
    See if you can tuck it in.
    You need a good kick in the ass. You can go faster.
    Turtle on throttle is you.
    Need to find the hare. Bunny up !

    Just a word of encouragement. I can tell you need work on basic technique and would suggest investing in some good instruction. There is a big difference in classes being taught by someone who can ride fast vs someone who can teach. Pick the latter, especially someone who understands the limitations and expectations of a mature rider. Secondly, don’t be down on yourself for not knowing set-up directions. Just make one change at a time- record what you did in a notebook - then test ride, write down the difference you feel, repeat in each area of refinement. BTW I’m not assuming you don’t already understand the principles of analysis, just emphasizing the importance of using logical thinking and keep telling yourself that there is no hurry. Enjoy the journey as much as the results. Forgive me if I sound a bit prescriptive and even parental. The reason could be that at 84 I’m considerably older than you and with a lifetime of experience beginning with the British forerunners of competent off road bikes up to the present. Yes, I do still ride. Thank you for your humble, well intentioned discussions on the Chinese bikes available now in the US. I went through the same paradigm shift in the 60s with the Japanese invasion. You’re on the right track in documenting this transition. My wish for you is to be successful and find satisfaction in your efforts. Blessings
