  • Authorities say 51 pilot whales have died as attempts to rescue a remaining 46 stranded on a beach in Western Australia's south continue.
    The animals began stranding themselves at Cheynes Beach, 60 kilometres east of Albany, just after 4pm yesterday.
    A massive effort is underway to help refloat some of the whales still alive.
