  • Twelve of the #belugas and all ten of the #orcas held in the "whale jail" in Russia's Srednyaya Bay have been released. Find out how these whales are doing now that they're swimming in the open ocean for the first time in almost a year from Charles Vinick, director of the Whale Sanctuary Project, who stepped forward to help secure their release along with his friend Jean Michel Cousteau. ⠀#oceanx

Please let me know what you need for me to do. I will forward this video of their story to people I know but I could use some direction for an action plan because people will ask me; what can we do? Keep up the good fight, because as we all should know, if our oceans go, so will we!!!

It used to make me infuriated when I would hear these marine biologist or so-called experts say that these animals can never survive in the wild and that they need to be in captivity and need humans. I used to say will let them be free and I would rather roll the dice and let them go. Best to release them two at a time together if possible

    Thank you for helping the whales and Orca. I hope karma, or God, or the whale spirits teach the capturers a lesson and judge them accordingly. people suck. thankfully there are the few good people who know the difference between wrong and right and choose to do the right thing no matter the cost. you get what you give in this world and hurting animals is one of the most horrible things humans do.
    Good people of this world, if you can help this organization in any way, please support them. send them money, because you know transporting whales and orca cant be cheap.

      The only reason these whales were able to be released is because the captures were illegal. Its very very and sometimes impossible hard to get legally captured cetaceans to be rescued. Right now there is simply no where to send them to if organizations were to somehow free them. .

      Youre wrong. Wild caught whales and dolphins have a better chance at being rehabilitated and released successfully. It has been done in the past with orcas and other whales and dolphins. This is the first time such a large release of captive whales has been done. These whales were released and reunited with their pods after a few days.

    • @CleverClover2023
      @CleverClover2023 Год назад

      Because the bay where the whales were being held is NOT where they were captured. If they had simply released there the animals wouldnt know where to go and would have likely stayed in the sea pens. Taking them back to the capture location gives the whales the best chance to figure out where they are and reunite with their pods.
