Good music, text only forcing the viewer to actually pay attention to what’s going to happen, and of course old school video games. Reminds me of Dark 5’s videos before he decided to do commentary and clickbait. Fuck that guy.
Creepy Bad Endings #1 was the first video on your channel that I ever watched. I believe I discovered this channel in either 2014 or 2015. Man, it feels like that happened forever ago.
I don't remember how I came across Git's videos but he has been on my radar for 10 years now I think. I have some memory regarding watching Creepy Bad Endings # 13 when it was new and I know that vid was uploaded some months after I got into his content.
Dude, same. Except I remember back then I was really particular about putting videos into my subscription feed, so it I think it took me a while to finally sub to Lublub. I think it was back in the day when there still weren't many actually good gaming youtubers, so it got me, ME of all people to actually read subtitles for hours because of the quality content. Dis good shit!
I have to say whoisthisgit your original video all those years back is what introduced me to the Streets of Rage franchise! I downloaded it on an emulator and played it back then and loved the characters ever since!
I think those endings in which we see Mr. X. breaks his glass happen in an alternative timeline. Since in these endings the heroes don't get to face the real Mr. X, it was not necessary for them to know that he is just a brain now, so in those timelines he didn't necessarily have to be that, so he could still be remain a real, living man.
The creator of SOR 3 didn't give a single F about "appealing to the masses" and i respect him for that. SOR3's Trance Music was experimental and a departure from the classic tried&tested Club music of SOR 1&2. Many fans still hate SOR 3's music but i'll defend it, it goes perfectly with the gritty vibe of the game, everything feels urgent, oppressive&hostile with this music. Its not meant to sound pleasant. I can't think of any other piece of music that manages to convey the raw feeling of kicking someone's face into asphalt quite like *DUB SLASH.* Speaking of Grittiness, the story went from being about defeating a Chessy 50's Gangster with a Tommy gun to multi-national conflict, Cybernetics, A.I and espionage. SOR3's plot feels contemporary and yet this was before 9/11. SOR3's graphics are also less colourful to better fit the new sci-fi elements. SOR3 is so 90's my pants turned into acid washed denim after playing it for an hour. Even the silliest element of the game(Kangaroo) has a twisted backstory of animal cruelty. SOR3 is a Masterpiece, nothing in the genre comes to close being as gritty as this one. But then again i'm the same guy who considers the OG RE3 the best RE game, so maybe i just have a knack for liking the black sheeps in a franchise.
@@ChiefMedicPururu I mean, most RE fans i've talked to just call RE3 a cash grab spin-off that stole the "3" from CV. With the RE3 Remake falling flat on its face, RE3 is doomed to forever have the status of being the "RE2 DLC".
I remember watching these videos ages ago on YT. (like 2012-2013) The endings alone got me fascinated in games with branching paths and games that show harsh consequences for your failures.
Yep. As a kid, this shit was tough and it's unfair that JP players had it too easy with additional scenes to boot it. I think the one downside to the worst ending of SOR3 was the lack of seeing the city in ruins.
The OG bad ending videos still have the same daunting effect on me every time I watch them, so I wonder how much improvement has gone underway in the past decade. I’m so excited for this!
So big improvement in this remake is following the overall story more and the differences in versions. In the original video, the Japanese version got a passing mention before the ending, then it got a mention again at that point, but this feels a lot better, especially for someone who never played Streets of Rage 3. I do like 2 a lot though. Very good stuff
Logically, since Mr. X is a brain in a jar Dr. Dahm or Robot Y has to be the one (we assume is th Mr. X) in the chair. Personally, I am assuming that Robot Y is the Mr. X in the bad endings that occur after defeating Robot X on Easy mode and after defeating Town Hall Shiva Remember that in those 2 bad endings we never see the front of Mr X and Mr X is cloaked in darkness when he is sitting his chair.
My problem with these endings is that they are incredibly vague compared to the overseas version, so this is my attempt to improve the ending dialogue for both endings in bare knuckle 3. Bad Ending: The syndicate headquarters and robot factory were destroyed in the explosion and the team managed to escape in Adams Police helicopter, thanks to the efforts of Axel and the others, a full-scale war was averted, unfortunately they were too late, as their victory swiftly became hollow. Mr.X has succeeded in leaving his mark on the city. The destructive force of the rakushin bomb explosions left terrible scars in its wake, killing many people and destroying many buildings, it will take a very long time for them to repair the damage caused to the fabric of the city, and the confidence of those citizens that trusted the forces of good to look after them. Good Ending: The syndicate headquarters and robot factory were destroyed in the explosion and the team managed to escape in Adams police helicopter, using Adam's police helicopter, they managed to locate and diffuse all of the bombs planted by Mr X, on time. They have succeeded in saving many innocent lives as well as decades of the city's history. And so the rakushin calamity, born out of wisdom and ignorance, has finally come to an end, the bustle of daily life in the city has wiped the event from everyone's minds. Dr. Zero has notified the military and police officials of who have been kidnapped where upon the robotic duplicates were destroyed, and the real officials returned to their posts, he eventually was placed in an asylum where he was said to be doing well. Dr.Zan was pardoned by the military and police forces of his role in the overthrow of the syndicate. To celebrate their victory, the team spent some time together in the city, and then went their separate ways.
'I'm dying, please help me' 'Are you kidding?' Man, that line alone is dark. It might seem tame by today's standards, but back in the genesis days, the heroes just outright abandoning the villain to die? That is some heavy stuff.
Reminds me of that scene in DBZ where Frieza begs for mercy to Goku, after all the fighting and killing he's done to planet Namek, Goku still gave in and shared some of his ki.
To be fair, Mr. X is definitely no pleasant person, what with basically stealing a page from Hideo Kojima's book with his Snatcher plan and threatening to bomb the city and all. :P
Always absolutely loved your style of editing and videos with this subject matter, since I also feel the same way as you do with creepy, emotioneless but really dark endings of old games with no dialogue, and I love how you captured that same "detached" and "uncanny valley" feel to it by not having any dialogue while doing these! Really enjoyed this one and congrats!
To think just yesterday I left a comment on your latest Boss Analysis taking about the endings in Wario Land (Virtual Boy), Wario World, and Luigi's Mansion...I guess the stars align when I least expect them! Glad to see a remake of the video that got me interested in your videos!
A remake that is now creepier in HD. 👍 I still remember some of the episodes were split into parts because you were unable to upload videos longer than 15 minutes.
If you play the NIS games, most of them have bad endings too and well, just play the first Disgaea, the bad ending was VERY depressing (Makai Kingdom too, just won't spoil).
BRUH! I was watching your video when this was uploaded (the video was your collaboration with shyguymask). It's really great to come back and see a lot of new content here, makes me reminisce the days of my retro gaming. Growing up, you certainly don't have that many time to waste on grinding on older video, as there's no rewards that rather sticks with you for a long time (i play gacha games now, actually. And it's very time-consuming) Anyway git, hope you'll keep the creepy video gaming going! That was my favorite series tbh. Have a good day
I keep thinking that if they really wanted to throw a wrench in your feelings with the bad ending, they could just have that depressing music playing with a credits roll over the city...though I think constantly having to see the wreckage would make me feel very uneasy. Like I just have issues seeing it for those few seconds. Also, I love the remix of the SOR2 intro that plays during the credits. It felt like the series had some sense of it ending (at least for the time on genesis). Im so glad that we have SoR4 though, cause its pretty darn good.
Nice remake! You've definitely improved. Not saying the original 2-part version of this episode is bad, but it certainly has it's flaws. Love ya whois.

Interesting how they felt the need to alter Blaze’s and Axel’s appearance in the western version, presumably so as not to have them mistaken for Capcom characters since Axel looks way too similar to Cody from Final Fight for it to be a simple coincidence.
