If that sequence doesn’t work for you… Try this instead….(key position)…. Start at 0-2 press lock button, turn back to 1-2 press lock button, Turn back to 1-2 press lock button, turn back to 1-2 press lock button, and you should hear your locks engage press the lock button again On the remote you just programmed and then press the lock button on any additional key fob to program it also… you can have up to 3 key fobs But all must be programmed at the same time upon the first initial programming, when programming the additional key fobs leave the key in the number 2 position and just press the lock button one time on each remote.

Follow this instruction as shown on the video but remember to HOLD the LOCK button down each time until it stops blinking. The other instruction that show on this site also works. Just remember to HOLD the LOCK button until stops blinking before moving on. Good luck!
Your video was very helpful and I programmed my fob. I programmed the fob in my car while watching your instructions. Doors lock /unlock perfectly, however, the beep confirmation is not sounding. By the way, I also replaced both Fobs with new batteries. I did everything to the T. Do you know what else can be done regarding the beep confirmation?? I really want to restore this so I am not second guessing if I locked my car or not. Thank you .😊

Thank you. I went to the Honda dealer and they wanted $116 to reprogram the key fob. I watched and fixed it on the first try. I think it might have taken 3 minutes. So Honda was trying to charge me what amounts to $2320/hour, and they wouldn’t guarantee it would work, AND I would probably have had to wait for a while so that they could show me it was hard to do. However, to be fair to the Honda service advisor, when I told him that it was a rip-off and I’d rather open the car manually he told me to look it up on RUclips because Honda didn’t have a special machine to do it.
Thank you for this easy tutorial. I was able to easily program the fob and it was locking and unlocking my car. When I pressed the brake to turn it on tho, the alarm started going off and the car wouldn’t start. This happened twice, and then on the third time the alarm did not go off and I was able to start the car. Any ideas why this happened, whether I can probably expect it to happen again, and how to stop it? Thank you!
Does this not work for the LX Model? I have a 99 accord lx, and it’s not working for me, and all the other guides I do see on RUclips are for EX models as well.
@@PYR-Auto i have LX model for 98 and i was able to do it. However, that is for my original remote. i have another remote from different honda of same generation and i cannot program that. hope that helps.

Thanks. I noticed that if I lock the car with remote#1, remote #2 can't unlock it. You have to use the same remote to unlock. It beats the purpose to use an extra remote if you lose your remote. You won't be able to unlock it.

Well I just successfully programmed both of my original factory remotes using these instructions. I had to do it twice, but it worked! I've been using the key for over a year now. SO good to have the remotes back! 1998 Honda Civic EX Coupe, 5 speed manual, clean with zero Honda rot on her rear wheel wells 🥰. 95k miles. She's practically a teenager!

Worked on my 2000 Accord SE
I tried it many time with no luck because I was pressing the LOCK button too fast.
When you press the LOCK button hold it until it stops blinking, then turn key back to I.
Follow this instruction as shown on the video but remember to HOLD the LOCK button down each time until it stops blinking.
The other instruction that show on this site also works. Just remember to HOLD the LOCK button until stops blinking before moving on.

My fob did not programmed even following same steps. All batteries replaced with new.
